Here’s an eye makeup tip to try! Before applying your eyeshadow, curl your eyelashes first, then apply the thinnest layer of your favorite mascara. Now, with your eyes wide open, look straight into a mirror, and notice where the tips of your upper lashes are.
Now here’s the tip: Take your eyeshadow up that far, up to the tips of your lashes.
Voila!
I’ve been doing this the whole week, and it’s been a game changer for me because I tend to take my eyeshadow up really high (like, seriously, almost to my brows!), but when I use my curled lashes as a guide, it’s easy to tell how far up to take my crease colors.
And this tip helps even more if you have hooded eyes or otherwise don’t have a lot of lid space (like moi).
Lastly, when you’re finished applying your eyeshadow, apply a second coat of mascara to cover up any eyeshadow that may have gotten on your lashes.

This trick works with false lashes, too, so if you ever wear them on stage to perform (do you ever do that?), you can use your falsies as a guide.
I do!! Well… I do sometimes, haha. I usually apply falsies after my eye makeup, but I may have to try doing it the other way around!
I have a lot of lid space, but I am going to try it anyway. Any help is highly appreciated.
Like Linda’s comment above, I have a lot of lid to work with, however, I have such minimal lashes that I never bothered with a lash curler. I had one from Bobbi, years ago, but hardly used it. When I did, I remember sometimes pinching my skin. Anyway, it might be time to invest in a good lash curler and try this technique. it might help with eyeliner. I have to work on my packing list.

Pinching can happen with curlers that don’t fit your eye shape. They all fit a little differently… I have go back and forth between two ancient Shu Uemura one that are waaaay overdue for an update. I’ve heard good things about the Shiseido one, too.
Did you get your swimsuit coverup?
My daughter does this all the time. Mostly because her lashes are so long and she hates cleaning up mascara smudges after she’s done her shadow. As someone with very hooded eyes I’m jealous of all the shadow real estate she has. Not to mention she got her father’s long lashes.

Thats a good idea, I have yet to find curlers that work for me though, I guess my eye is oddly shaped!
My lashes are short and blonde, but they’re relatively curled naturally, so I don’t even know where my eyelash curler is! I look silly when I curl them more. I like this idea though! I have a lot of lid space so I’ll have to play around.
