These six reds are rad!
It’s hard to pick a favorite from among the six $8.99 red lipsticks in the new L’Oreal Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Red Lipcolor line, but if you said, “Karen, you have to pick one!” first I would say, “Curses! Why you gotta be so cruel?” then I’d say 402 Blake’s Red, which you may remember from the 5 Fabulously Affordable Fall Lipstick post earlier this week. It’s neutral, so I could wear it with warm and cool looks (and I bet it would look great on most skin tones).
I don’t think you can really go wrong with any of these shades, though. They’re really, REALLY good reds, and all of them are completely opaque. They also feel nice and creamy and have a velvety matte finish that makes lips look plump, luscious and elegant.
With reds like these I picture film noir heroines saying, “Kiss me, you fool!” while sipping martinis and shooting sharp glances across dark rooms.
I should point out that all six colors have that strong, classic L’Oreal lipstick scent (like the standard lipstick-y scent taken to an extreme). You’re either not going to mind it, or it’s going to make you gag. I don’t mind it, because, weirdly enough, it makes me feel like a “lady.” It takes me back to my childhood when my granny would wear lipsticks that smelled just like these, and every time I caught a whiff on her I’d think, “Ooh! That’s what grownup ladies smell like.” 🙂
Ah, the logic of a four-year-old girl… So funny!
Do yourself a solid next time you’re at a drugstore, and pick one of them up.

I’m starting to think that witchcraft is involved in making those Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Whenever I finish one, I feel intense, overwhelming joy. 🙂 They are THE BEST THINGS EVER.
Nothing can stop me from having another one tomorrow, mwahahahaa! I’m already looking forward to it (one more sleep till PSL!).

You want magic? Add a pump of white chocolate to PSL. I figured that out this summer when i got a “cinnamon roll frappucino” which was cinnamon dolce plus white chocolate, it’s MAGIC baby!
I love the concept of this line, but can’t do the scent. This feels like a no fuss way to choose lipstick “see it looks good on this actress who is your color, but if you like hers better buy it!”
I’ve been trying to find this collection reds by L’Oreal at drugstores around me for a loooong time (it launched much earlier in Europe than here), but no luck. Actually, I stopped looking a couple months ago, so maybe they’ve received them? Was it a special display or did you find them in the regular L’Oreal display?
I am so thrilled red lips are going to be huge this fall. I love red lippies. All of these look beautiful. If I had to choose one, it would be 405 Freida’s Red, because it’s ever so slightly pink. I love shades that are borderline between red and bright pink.
I have been meaning to try these! I have a couple of shades (Eva’s and JLo’s) from their line of nudes and really like them a lot. I really love the fancy tube, too.
PSL 4 Life?? That’s why we are friends, Karen! I had my first one last Sunday and it was amazingly delicious! Now I want one again!
The swatches are so pretty. And only make me more indecisive. And I’ve never had a PSL. *runs for cover* For shame ? I’ll remedy that this weekend (if not today).

These lipsticks were launched in Europe last spring I think and I was crazy with them. I have four and I love all of them. Zoe’s Red and Liya’s Red wasn’t available here but instead we had Laetitia’s and JLo’s. Both gorgeous shades.

Can’t say I’m mad excited about this collection, but Julianne’s red is probably the shade that would suit me most.
Are your hands shrinking or is that a really big cup of PSL? 😉 I’m good with all things pumpkin spice but I have to say I’m more of a DD Vanilla Chai for Life, kinda gal. It’s like Christmas in a cup. 🙂 That said, it’s been in the 80s and humid (put on your surprised face) all week so hot drinks are not yet on the radar. I’m not complaining, mind you. HAHA!
I don’t like coffee and am banned from caffeine due to a heart condition. (I still eat chocolate as long as it’s not dark, which has more) Even supposedly decaf green tea gets me feeling weird. I also don’t like carbonation, so my life in beverages is pretty dull!
Zoe’s Red is so gorgeous! I’m also a fan of Frieda’s Red because of how pink it pulls. I actually think I have these somewhere in my stash. I need to pull them out and get my sexy on LOL

I did on the post where Karen wore it. They have been around for a while now and I am so in love with Blakes Red, but don’t want to buy any more reds…
And pumpkin… I think it is okay, but not my favorite. The bigger problem is: I don’t like coffee.
I like all the reds but my least fave is Eva’s as it would be too warm for me. Don’t hate me, but I don’t like PSL. They always taste too sweet and bitter for me. I’m addicted to Chai though. It’s my once a week treat after grocery shopping! If I wasn’t worried about my weight or budget, I’d have one EVERY.SINGLE.DAY!
Half sweet PSL for me! I love them but find them too sweet with full syrup. I had my first one of the season yesterday! 🙂
I really like 402 Blake’s Red and 403 Eva’s Red. Too bad they have that L’Oreal lipstick smell to them. Gag.
Sorry, I just don’t like PSLs. I prefer my coffee to taste like coffee. I only tolerate pumpkin pie on Turkey Day because the DH loves it.
