Dear UD Scorch,
‘Sup, boo? I’ve been missing you. We haven’t talked in a while (six months, give or take, but who’s counting?).
I just wanted to holla and ask, “How are you?” How’s my smokin’-hot, shimmery bronze liner love? Still the picture of pure perfection in a pencil?
Remember how we always loved to play in spring and summer? Whenever I’d bust out my beach bag and slip on my booty shorts (might as well work it while you can, right?), you were always right there for me, ready to help with the bronze and gold eye makeup looks I was wearing.

I wonder, are you the same way…?
I bet you are. 🙂 I bet you’d like me to swipe you along my lash lines, wouldn’t ‘cha? Just us, from the break of dawn till late at night, no fading, no smudging — nothing to break our bond.

I’ve been thinking about you again. A lot. And all of the things I want to do with you…like wearing you as a base for shimmery bronze eyeshadows.
Remember that time I layered you with UD’s Half Baked on top? That was smokin’ hot.
Oh! — or that time I wore you with MAC Woodwinked? Hotter than a five-alarm fire.
The 411 on Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Scorch
What is it? A silky soft $20 long-wearing shimmery bronze pencil liner with silver micro-glitter. Available now at Urban Decay counters and urbandecay.com.Who might lurve it? Anyone who likes wearing warm bronze and gold shades on their eyes.
When’s a good time to wear it? How ’bout now? Or any time of year, but I think it comes into its own in spring and summer because it looks faboo with a tan.
What else? It’s a great liner alternative to basic brown and black.
How do you rock it? You can wear it as a straight-up eyeliner or as a base for powder shadows. It goes well with coral or hot pink cheeks and lips.

I’ve never dated another pencil liner like you. I, uh, heard through the makeup grapevine that you got into a fight with Costa Riche? Is that true?? I hope it wasn’t about me, but if it was, shoo’ — let ’em trip. What we got is special. 🙂
Sending you R. Kelly slow jams, always,
-K
The long-running Unsung Heroes series features some of my favorite permanent collection products from a variety of bodacious beauty brands.
Stuck in Love
I Netflix’d it. That’s the name of it — a movie called Stuck in Love. I watched it a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it, but I keep forgetting to tell you.
It’s about a father who’s a novelist (played by Greg Kinnear), his family and how he tries to move on with his life after his wife leaves him for another man. Also starring Jennifer Connelly and Kristen Bell. Funny, sad and sweet, all at the same time. And I feel like the characters are believable, too.
A good one to fire up on ye olde telly if you find yourself chilling on the couch one afternoon with a big bowl of popcorn (which is what I frequently do). If you end up watching it, let me know what you think.
So, how was Tuesday? Good, I hope.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I watched that movie recently-ish and I really liked it!
Yay! It’s great!
Ooohh pretty! This would look great in my inner corners to add a nice pop!
For sure!
I also watched that movie not too long ago and loved it! Also loving scorch and your handwriting in the swatch, lol!
Hi Miki,
It was a nice surprise, wasn’t it? Have you watched any other good movies lately? I’m always looking for more to add to the list.
Hope you had a lovely Tuesday!
That looks so nice.
Sure does.
Wow! Beautiful shade karen! 🙂
Yup!
Ohhh la la … oh so pretty 🙂 Would love to use this along with my smokey eye look. I <3
Hi Connie,
Yes, it would be absolutely gorgeous. What colors were you thinking of using?
I loved the shade! I am getting tis one for Sure Karen! You recos usually work really well for me!:-)
Yay, Vineetha! Let me know what you think of it.
Ok, so I totes adore your blog! But I think it’s your writing style that keeps me coming back!! References like booty shorts, shooo’ let ’em, and R Kelly keep me highly entertained!!
We’re, like, best friends in my head. Love my daily dose of MBB! Keep your Washington Post. Give me MBB any day. Haha!
Love you back, Kwmechelle! 🙂 How are things out in your neck of the woods? Is the weather nice yet?
That is gorgeous! UD Smog is one of my favourite eyeshadows and this looks like its eye pencil counterpart.
Smog is excellent. Have you ever tried Bourbon?
Aww, I want this one! I have a small but growing collection of UD’s 24/7 liners – they’re my go-to! I think this bronze would look lovely with my blue eyes, too…
*adds to list*
Yay, I hope you like it!
Hilarious article and great pencil! How does this compare to Mac Powersurge?
Hi Bella,
Thank you! 🙂 I’m a MAC Powersurge fan too. Scorch is slightly more warm and has a stronger orangey undertone. It also has tiny silver flecks of glitter.
I want to get something like this but I’m afraid it might be too warm for me!
Ooops, didn’t finish my comment! It looks so neutral on you and I think it would really go with my green eyes!
Yes, it would look amazing with green eyes.
Looks like a great color for the summer! I saw the movie a while back and liked it! Like you said, funny, sweet yet a bit sad.
Hi Ankita,
Got any more good movie recs for me?
Excellent golden bronze liner for the waterline. This would be so awesome with some emerald green eyeshadow.
Great idea, Chris! My first thought was to pair it with teal, but a green would be killer. 🙂
Ah I’m in love! I have a few UD liners and this color takes the cake.
Yes, it’s a great one! What other UD liners do you love? I’m all about Bourbon.
This liner looks gorgeous! I love the bronze color for this time of year.
Me too. Do you ever wear your bronze shades with teal? The combo is killer.
How beautiful. I’ve always liked Urban Decay pencils, but some of mine have dried up unfortunately. 🙁
Oh no, Beavercat. Which ones do you have?
Gorgeous! And I’m pretty sure I don’t own this eyeliner. It’s getting added to my UD list.
I purchased scorch not too long ago because sephora was giving away free UD nail polish with any UD purchase so of course I had to buy something 🙂 I have a lot of UD liners but somehow overlooked this one so I added it to my arsenal for my free polish. I really like it for day wear because it’s not harsh yet it’s sassy enough to add more for some pop during the night. Really happy I am a sucker for freebies or else I may have totally missed this shade!
That eye liner is gorgeous! I also watched Stuck in Love recently, and I really enjoyed it! Being a writer myself, it was fun seeing a movie about a family of writers. It inspired me to start journaling again.
I used this on my water line today! I couldn’t even find my sharpener but I had pulled it yesterday and I just about gave myself an eye splinter but it worked out. Gorgeous!
