And the award for Lip Balm Most Likely to Double as a Cat Toy goes to…the eos + Rachel Roy limited edition Smooth Sphere holiday 2014 collection lip balms, yay! 🙂

Tabs loves playing with these things. They look like Easter eggs or bouncy balls, but they’re actually little lip balms. If I leave one sitting out, Tabs will bop it around the condo like it’s a crinkly ball.
Of course, now that I’m telling you this, and I want to take a picture of him playing with them, he has absolutely no interest in doing that whatsoever.
Cats.

That these double as cat toys is but one of the many cool things about this line of limited edition balms.

The product of a collaboration between eos and fashion designer Rachel Roy (who’s an eos die-hard), each one has a different tropically themed fragrance. There’s Indian Summer Orange Blossom, Aloha Hawaii Strawberry Kiwi, St Barth’s Sunrise Pink Grapefruit and Barbados Heat Wildberry.
I was hoping they’d also be flavored, and officially, they are, but alas, I can’t really taste anything when I’m wearing them.

They’re all USDA-certified organic, contain shea butter and jojoba oil, and they’re free of petrolatum, parabens and gluten.
On my lips, the colorless formula feels lightweight and smooth, and when I’m outside and the wind is whipping my ponytail around, my hair doesn’t stick to my lips.

Now, these definitely aren’t as intensely hydrating as my go-to lip balm these days, the No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil by Hourglass (which is nothing short of amazing if your lips are Sahara-caliber dry like mine), but for a quick hit of light moisture, they’re just fine.
A three-pack with St. Barths, Indian Summer and Aloha Hawaii is available now through January for $9.99 (and a single pack with Barbados Heat is just $3.49) at Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Ulta, Kohls and also online.
If it’ll help you make a decision, as cat toys, they’re 100% Tabby cat approved. 🙂

I’d love to try these new ones.. I really like the Sweet Mint flavour which is one I’ve tried!
Maybe come summer, during the colder months I never stray from my Nuxe Reve de Miel. Learned that the hard way…
I must be the only person in the whole beauty world who hasn’t tried EOS balms yet. Even though I have an unopened Coconut one sitting in my drawer.
Tabs seems very protective of these lip balms, Karen! Did you manage to get them back from him? 🙂
My cat loves to play with them too! hahah she’s a tuxedo and her name is Sephora 🙂 you can see I’m a makeup lover
Hi Ana,
What a cute name for a kitty cat! What are Sephora’s nicknames? Tabs has a few: T-Money, Tabby, Mixy-Bear, Buddy…
Not many, but I call her Seph sometimes, and when I say “hi beautiful” she always looks cause she’s confident like that 🙂
Aww! I say “Hi, Beautiful” to Tabs all the time. 🙂 How long have you and Sephora been together?
My dog likes these as toys, too! Alas, she chews them up instead of just boppin’ them around!
Hi Estefania,
Is this your schnauzer? What is her name?
Happy Friday, by the way!
Hi, Karen!
Yep, that’s her! Her name is Phoebe, and she is a little ball of neverending energy! Haha 😀 Happy Friday!! I’m celebrating with a big burger haha and you?
I hope that burger has cheese and that you’re also partying with a big side of fries. 😀
Well, right now, my big plans are to stay in these stretchy pants for as long as possible. I work from home but like to dress like I’m headed to a business casual office (helps keep me sane), but sometimes, like on Fridays, I’ll rock the stretchy pants.
As for tonight, I think we might be headed to the movies. It’s me and El Hub’s thing! I will probably have to take one for the team and sit through Interstellar even though I’m not a huge Christopher Nolan fan. Can’t wait for the new Hunger Games though. I’m literally counting down the seconds!
Stretchy pants sound heavenly right now! (sadly, Casual Friday at the office never goes that far).
I think I’m with you on the Interstellar thing. I like Christopher Nolan, but that movie is just not calling my name so far…
Yay, Hunger Games! (well, not literally…)
I like certain things about his films. I think he has a distinct style and can tell complex stories, but I feel like most of his movies don’t give me the emotion I want from a film. When I invest two hours into a flick I want to walk away feeling something, and I don’t always get that from his stuff.
That said, I did enjoy Batman Begins! And not just because of Christian Bale. LOL
Besides the burger, what else do you have on your plate (haha) for the weekend?
Tabs does look a little protective over them lol. He’s the cutest thing! I agree with you though. These balms are okay for a quick refresh but they don’t do much for my dry lips. I’ve been loving the Nivea lip balm though. It’s surprisingly hydrating
These look so cute! But EOS lip balms aren’t moisturizing enough for me. I prefer something richer.
Sad they don’t have flavor 🙁 I’ve never used an EOS balm mostly because my sis loves them but always complains about her chapped lips!
Am I the only one who thinks EOS lip balms are over hyped? As much as I wanted to like them they just don’t help with my lips. The best lip balm I’ve ever tried is the Neutrogena 6hr protection lip balm. They feel so moisturizing and it eliminates the flakiness and it looks matte which I like cause I don’t want it to look glossy especially when I don’t have makeup on but just want the moisturizing qualities of a lip balm.
