Just a few pics from my mom’s belated Mother’s Day lunch last Sunday at Patio Filipino restaurant in San Bruno.
OMG, the food was SO GOOD. I was too busy eating to take pictures of everything, which says a lot. I did manage to capture a few shots when I wasn’t busy shoveling food in my mouth, LOL!
Highly recommended for grubbing Filipino eats.

OMG!! drooling……. 😛 food looks too gud..
Looks so good. It’s funny I made homemade adobo and stirfry buko last weekend for Mother’s Day. That tilapia is giving me hunger pains. Yum!
The food looks amazing! Is that yam flavoured ice-cream in the dessert?
Hope you and your Mom had a good mother’s day 🙂
Hi Fieran,
Yes, it’s called ube ice cream, or taro. The dessert had it as the top layer, then there was a coconut jello, and then beneath it was the halo-halo. Once we were finished with all that, then we scooped out the fresh coconut. MAN, my tummy is rumbling now!
The food looks amazing! Hope you had a nice Mother’s Day 🙂
That ice cream dessert looks delicious!!
Yummy food 🙂 Convey my mothers day wishes to your mom.
Aww! You mom looks very happy – it’s nice that you were able to get together! 🙂
I’m half Filipino Karen and I grew up in the Philippines. I missed those dishes, we don’t have a Filipino restaurant here in Des Moines Iowa. The good news is, my mom and dad will be here this Thursday to visit and also for my wedding. My fave dishes are sisig, inihaw na bangus, HaloHalo, paksiw and Laing. Now I’m hungry.
What a gorgeous looking dessert! I love the color too! Your Mom looks so happy, I can’t help but smile. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
I have never tried Filipino food, but it looks delicious! I would love to try that dessert. I love coconut, especially when it’s fresh. So yummy!
The food looks so good! Your mom is so pretty, and looks very happy! Thanks for the pics.
I love this place! My stepmother’s cousin is the owner. Love how they do Filipino food with a twist!
Hi Kate,
How funny; we actually sat next to the owner during our lunch! He was very nice.
Aw, how nice 🙂 I bet it was fun. And yum,
The lunch looks good, but this just looks sweet. Glad you had fun on a belated Mother’s Day 🙂

OMG! That halo-halo looks so good.. Puts Chowking and Jolibee to shame!
Woah. The ice cream-coconut dessert is bigger than your mom’s head! She looks so happy — over the celebrations, or over the food? Her smile is infectious. 🙂
OMG! Your mom is so cute! Love her!
OMG that Halo Halo looks AMAZEBALLS!!!
Karen – I love the food pics – Patio Filipino provided food for my wedding in Burlingame and our non-Filipino guests loved everything 🙂 So glad you got to try the restaurant
Hi Kat,
Oh, that’s so cool! If I ever had to hire a caterer for a big event I’d definitely call them. What food did you get for your wedding?
OH wow. Oh wow. Looks so GOOD!
Halo halo… in young coconut… oh my goodness. I am so jealous right now!! The looks soo good. 😀
Hi Julia,
It was SO GOOD. I would drive two hours to go eat that again. I’m craving it right now!
