I wish I could eat some home-cooked cassoulet!! If I’m ever in your neck of the woods you better believe I’m popping by the store for some of that good grub!
I was tempted by that! What else have you had there? I had the sole last time and it was tasty. El Hub always orders the Coq Au Vin, and that’s good too.
You gotta love the French – they love better more than Paula Deen and Julia Childs…I ate at french cafe too for Valentine’s brunch…sadly they were out of the mussels I’ve been craving!
You know, one of these days I want to go to the French Laundry. I hear all these great things about it. it isn’t just a meal – it’s an experience. Maybe when i am rich I can afford to go there 🙂
GURL – my Momma’s obsessed with Cassoulet. She just refined her recipe and started making it for the store last month. 🙂

Oooh, that looks like some really good comfort food. I have never tried cassoulet.
It was pretty hearty… kinda like a stew with beans, bread crumbs, sausage, and all sorts of yummy herbs.
Ooh I’ve been to Bistro Jeanty! I had steak tartar for the first time.

I love cassoulet! I don’t make it with duck though. I have a recipe that I love that I can drop to you
as soon as I get home.
Thanks, Lisa! I’d love it. 🙂

Boo! What did you end up getting?
just a fancy version of eggs bennedict – made with crab meat but I did manage to have a Kir Royal cocktail to start with!
That sounds really good. I love crab and like the yolk/crab meat combo (so rich, but delicious). Where did you go? Maybe I can drag the hub there…
Never heard of this before! What all is in a standard cassoulet?
.-= K’s last blog post… Valentine’s Day in Review =-.
It’s a very hearty stew with beans, herbs, bread crumbs and meat (sausage and duck). It’s very filling!
Oh wow… that looks delish!
