I vaguely recall hauling a basket of Jane Cosmetics eyeshadows one night many moons ago…
It may or may not have been a dream, but I remember my friend Cindy and I stopping by a drugstore in the middle of the night on one of our 1990s clubbing adventures (during which I may or may not have enjoyed Boone’s Strawberry Hill).
I remember dropping pan after pan of matte brown eyeshadow into my basket (it was the ’90s, after all) and thinking, “This is the greatest idea ever!”
Too bad I can’t remember what happened to all those eyeshadows or where they went. Maybe it was just a dream…
One thing I do remember, though (at least I think I do) was that the packaging wasn’t this cute. I’m pretty sure this was before the pans had patterns.
I’ve been playing with a few of the 45 available shades lately, namely Rosy Posy, a fun, shimmery pale pink perfect for brightening up the inner corners; Matte Willow, a neutral golden brown like a super sheer version of MAC Cork; and shimmery copper Eclipse, which looks fab paired with purple liner.
Just like the were in the ’90s, they’re available now at drugstores ($8 each, in 45 shades). 🙂 You can also find them online and at Ulta.

Eclipse looks really nice!
I totally forgot about Jane Cosmetics! I haven’t used them since I was in high school. Definitely going to have to track some down.
wow, cool, I’ve never heard of Jane Cosmetics before but I’m so impressed! Really love the Eclipse color!
Clubbing in the 90s – LOL – brings back memories!
I still have my Tickled Pink shadow. I wore it to my 1998 junior high graduation. 🙂
Rosy Posy looks pretty!!
Hmmm, I have not seen Jane Cosmetics in Canada before. I will have to keep an eye out the next time I cross the border.
Rosy Posy is so cute! I saw these at Ulta, but I didn’t wind up getting anything yet.
My fondest memory of Jane was at a retail trade show in the 90s. The brand had just been sold (can’t remember to whom) and when the show was done, the folks working in the booth left the ENTIRE thing there as samples for whomever wanted them. We all got a bagful of Jane loot that day. 🙂 These pans are much cuter, as you say!
I love their new shadows. Also LOVE their new pencil liners. One of the few that will wear on my waterline.
Super cute pressed design.
I haven’t ever heard of this brand, but the product looks nice.
Boone’s wild island was my first drank!!! Lol!!
I was surprised to see these awesome colors at Ulta and picked up three matte neutrals. Really pretty. The downside is that they’re very loose powder. Two of the three have disintegrated without being dropped. I have Mac, Bobbi Brown and Maybelline shadows that are pretty and hold together well. Bummed cause these colors are so nice. Maybe the shimmer formula is a better choice.
