Same thing happened to me Melissa! Well …similar! I didn’t wear gloves while cutting up their evil cousins …habanero peppers. OMG there was nothing that would get rid of that burn for hours together. I don’t know if I was just allergic or if those things were just so darn hot but it took me a lot of time& pain to get rid of that burning feeling!! On a side note though the pictures are beautiful and that shade would be gorgeous in a lipstick ( maybe thats why you feel like rubbing them on your lips lol)!
These look amazing! One time the menfolk were having a few drinks and one of them said to the Hubs “I dare you to put that whole thing in your mouth” (hot pepper from the garden). The Hubs did it in a heartbeat. And we laughed while his eyes watered for the next 15 minutes. HAHA!
I was cooking with Thai chili’s once and I had something similar happen to me like what happened to Melissa. I was wearing gloves it just shot little flecks of juice in my face! OMG my eye burned for hours.
Well I’m from the land of chilies, you get costumed to the spicy and I’m sure that the tingle is the same you feel with some lip plumpers.
Hoo boy 😐 I’m just imagining what that would feel like — just eating spicy food is enough to make my lips burn for an hour; the idea of rubbing a whole pepper on them is terrifying!
