Is the weather starting to warm up where you live? I’m looking out the window at a gloomy night that is chucking it down with SNOW. Waahh! I just went on (what I thought was) a spring walk the other day, and now I have to bring out my winter coat again! If any of you are familiar with Utah weather, you know that, unfortunately, this isn’t that weird.
I’ll probably have to scrape off my car in the morning, but I’m choosing to be more optimistic with my makeup choices. I’m channeling sunshine with this springtime golden/bronze eyeshadow look.
This look is so flattering on every single eye color, and it’s so easy to do. AND the palette I’m using is only $5.49! It’s the Essence All About Bronze Eyeshadow Palette.
You guys, every single one of you needs to go out and buy one of these palettes. If bronze-y shades aren’t your thing, they’ve got a bunch of different options. Nudes, Roses, Greys, and more! They blend out like a dream and are so pigmented. Love, love, LOVE.

I started out with a matte transition shade in the crease to help the gold blend better with my skin. That’s the thing about this palette — the one con. There are no matte shades.
But, no worries. If you have one, just use a different shade from your stash. I actually used my contour powder today as my transition shade.

Using a shader eyeshadow brush, pat the gold shade all over your lid, and for a more intense look, spray your brush with a little bit of setting spray before picking up the shadow, which is what I did. It gives almost a foiled look.
Next, take the blending brush that you used for your contour shade, and lightly blend the two colors together.

Now, using a small, rounded blending brush, use the darkest brown shade, and blend it into the outer corner. Add as little or as much as you’d like, depending on how smoky you want your eyes to be.

Brighten up the inner corner and under your brows with the lightest shade.

Using the dark brown shade in the outer corner, load the color on a pencil brush, and blend it on your lower lash line.

For the finishing touches, I added black winged liner, a brown pencil liner along the waterline, and mascara, of course.
Those steps are completely optional, but I just wanted to look a little extra sultry today (if you’re interested, here’s a post I did on how to get flawless winged liner in four steps).

And there ya have it, boys and girls, the easiest, most beautiful golden bronze eye, and it’s perfect for springtime. 🙂

Such a lovely makeup look. I love my bronze shadows a lot as well, regardless the season.
And the weather was lovely here last week, but come the weekend it got cold and grey again. Typical German weather, I suppose.
I’m with you! Bronze shadows are my go to. Sounds like your weather is a lot like ours, it can’t make up it’s mind yet! Ugh!
I love bronze eyeshadows. In a pinch you can also use it as blush/highlighter. I love makeup, probably too much.?
I’ve actually never tried using blush as an eyeshadow, I will have to give that a try! Thanks for the tip! 🙂
I’m so glad you reviewed this. I keep eyeing it every time I’m in Target, and now I’m sold. It’s such a pet peeve when beautiful eyeshadow palettes lack a matte transition shade.
Get it! I think you’ll love it as much as I do! I totally know what you mean, check out the “All About Nudes” palette and they actually have 4 matte shades and 4 shimmer. And the colors are a little less warm, and a little more neutral! That’s probably my other favorite palette from the collection. 🙂
Gorgeous! I need to wear more bronze colors on my lid. I always think they are too dark .. but really do look beautiful and sun kissed.
Monica.
Thank you! I say go for it, I think bronze-y shades look stunning on just about anyone!
Too warm for me but it looks lovely on you Jen!
Thank you so much Erin!
Good job. I’m wearing my “no makeup, makeup” look today. Prolly heading to the gym later so it’s good for working out. Enjoyed the look you created 🙂
I’m so glad you like it! I’m rocking the no makeup makeup today as well. Not to mention yoga pants and a sweater haha! Some days it’s all about comfort! 😉
Cool look, and you’ve got such beautiful eyes.
Aaah snow, miss it so much.
You’re so nice, thank you! I would LOVE to send our snow your way! Haha!
Wow, Essence eyeshadows have improved since they reformulated. These look really nice.
We had a few days of spring weather, but then on the first day of spring, it went back to cold, gray, and rainy. Typical for Portland, OR, though.
I can’t say if they’re better than they used to be because these are actually the first ones i’ve tried! But if I had to guess, if you didn’t like them before, I think you’ll love them now. I’ve always wanted to visit Portland!
It’s a beautiful city. I hope you get to visit it someday.
Such pretty colors in that palette. Love this look. Thanks for linking the flawless winged liner tutorial. I’m still working on my winged liner and that helps.
You’re so welcome! Just keep working at it, you’ll get it down! 🙂
So pretty! I love bronzed eye looks anytime of the year, and spring/summer especially.
Same here! They’re just so warm and pretty! 🙂
I’m really enjoying your posts!!!
I’m so glad! Thank you! 🙂
What are you wearing on your lips?!?! The color is amazing!
Lovely look. Love bronze shades, they are my go to and staple. Your brows are very very pretty pretty <3
I absolutely love these palettes from Essence! I have the All About Sunrise one and it’s perfect for summer. I must get this one, too!
Such a gorgeous look! I’ll keep an eye out for this palette.
Striking look! Gold and peach is another combination that can make your eyes pop and create a delicate look. 🙂
