Yes, I’m picturing an invisible factory staffed by thousands of flittering fairies who crush precious gems with tiny magic hammers.
This, because of the new $28 Fairy Dust Eye Shimmers by Laura Mercier.
I’m also thinking, “Ooh, shimmer!” 🙂
As it turns out, these loose eyeshadows are more shimmery than glittery — like powdered pearls — so if you want bigger bits of bling, steer your tush toward Urban Decay, or somewhere else with mounds of glitter.
To use these, there’s a flat, wide brush attached to the bottom of the twist-off cap. Just swipe the brush, which should already be loaded with pigment, directly on your lids.
You can wear them on their own, blended with other shadows, or use ’em as like a sparkly topcoat, by layering them on top of an already finished eye look.

Cool…
No, really. There’s a cooling sensation on my skin from these finely milled shimmers. I don’t know how or why that’s possible, but it is.
You know the Pixi Fairy Dust powder pigments? The ones that are $10? These are like fancy-pants versions.
Have a look and maybe a swatch next time you visit Sephora. There are five shades for $28 each.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Oh! That copper is gorgeous! It’s on my list now…
I do love me some Laura Mercier. These look like a lot of fun and easy to use. I like that they do come with a brush. My latest thing has been using whatever applicator comes with my eye makeup and then using a blending brush to blend. It works out pretty well for the most part.
One thing I’ve always loved about Laura’s makeup is that she does a lot of neutrals with just the right twist to enhance the skin and eyes. Her makeup is interesting without going into the “out there” and “not totally office appropriate.” I especially love her liners in Stormy Grey and Black Violet.
Hi Katherine,
Me too. If you ever get the chance try her cream eyeshadows (both in the tube and stick). I think you will love them!
The cooling sensation might be nice come summer!
AHHH! Everything is gorgeous esp the crushed copper!!!
Do you remember when Benefit sold Show-offs? Laura Mercier’s fairy dust eye shimmers remind me of the now discontinued eyeshadow.
OMG, YES! I think I might actually have an old tube around here somewhere that I’ve kept for makeup prosperity!
Crushed copper looks fantastic! 🙂 Would love to see it on you!
That one is giving me lovie eyes from across the room! I will probably end up caving, LOL!
Oh, they’re lovely! A bit too much shimmer for these old lids but I like the nail polish-like bottle and brush design. It seems pretty neat. 🙂
I’m hoping that if I ever get around to these that the whole brush situation will help me NOT make a huge mess. Who knows, though? Where there is a will…
Oh, good point! It could be a bit of a fallout disaster. There’s probably going to be some tapping involved. 🙂
On a completely different note, have you watched Better Call Saul? I’m liking it a lot!
Crushed Lapis!!!! :O
And Crushed Copper. It looks a little like MAC Copper Sparkle.
Hi Chris,
Ooh, yeah! A little bit! Good eye.
I know, right?
Crushed Copper looks pretty 🙂
That one’s my fave, too. 🙂
Oooh—I love how it’s not “too much”. Will definitely have my mommy try out the Crushed Copper. Should go well with dark brown eyes!

Hi Sookie,
Aww, that’s so sweet that you and your mom can bond over makeup. Have you ever done her makeup?
No, but I have “undone” her makeup before.
What can I say, I want to give kisses to everyone. Apparently, my mom doesn’t want any when she’s just put her makeup on. :/

so many prettyy shades.. copper crush is brightest of them all!!
They can be termed as eye shadow finishing powder for the pop of color on lids.. but the cooling sensation.. I am really not sure whether to go ahead with this bcz I totally detest such products. 😛
Hi Poo,
The cooling sensation is very subtle. Nothing too crazy!
Crushed Onyx has to be mine! It is very appropriate for the spring season, and even in the summer wearing on the beach!
That copper is gorgeous! It’d be perfect for a quick summer look.
I swatched Crushed Onyx at Sephora and it is BEAUTIFUL!!
Ooh, this is a must have! Thanks for the post and I’m glad to hear they come with a brush. I never know what brush to use (!)
So many metallics this year! And they’re showing metallics with nude looks – I think it’s great. Love LM’s shadows!
If they included the fairies, Inwould be completely sold.
Imaging the fluttering around, dusting you in shimmer right before the prince rides in…
But maybe the brush will do.
I love Copper and Onyx!
