Happy Tuesday, pretty. 🙂 Tabs woke me up early this morning and then insisted that my makeup today pay homage to him (what a diva!).
Refusing his requests usually leads to scratches, so I reached for one of his current collection crushes, NARS Summer 2011, and told him I would “see what I can do.”

I built the look with two things in mind — 1) Tabs’ pretty green eyes, and 2) the word “Mixey,” one of his many nicknames (a shortened version of Meow Mix).
Green crops up a few times throughout the NARS Summer 2011 collection, and I tried to really incorporate it into this look, mixing some different colors together.
Unlike my look last week using the Stila Stunning in Sayulita palette, the green here isn’t as obvious or BAM! It’s a subtler hint of green.
The look’s built around the Dogon Duo and Cap Ferrat Trio Eyeshadows. Dogon’s duo chrome taupe side has a touch of green shimmer to it, which I mixed with the light and dark greens in the Cap Ferrat Trio, and then applied to my lids.
For contrast, I mixed the white and gold shades from the Exotic Dance Duo (also from the release) and swept them into the crease, and along my brow bone and lower lash line.
Because I love me some cat eyes, I wet an angled brush and applied a thick line of the black and taupe shades from the Dogon Duo mixed together along my upper lash line. Applied wet and mixed together, the two shadows create a crazy blackish green shade I kinda like.
Then, and this part feels a little bit retro to me, I donned Carthage, a matte pink lipstick. So, since I had color on both my eyes and lips, I decided to pull it back a notch (just one) on my cheeks by going with two subtle layers of New Order Blush, a sheer but shimmery purplish pink.
When I showed the finished look to Tabs, this was the response I got…
Hmm… I haven’t figured out if that means he likes it, but he hasn’t extended his claws yet, which usually indicates moderate approval. 🙂

I’m rocking some NYX today. Ever since ULTA opened up here in Santa Rosa I can’t stop building my NYX collection!
Rose Petal cream blush
Versus 10-color shadow palette (quickly becoming my all time favorite eye shadow palette, top row is taupes and nudes, bottom row is pinks and purples, so you have warm and cool in the same palette). I put pink on the lid, cream on the browbone, and the gorgeous taupey grey used as a liner.
Lips are MAC Lipglass in……. wait for it…. NYMPHETTE, of course!
You know I’ve got mad love for Nymphette, girl!!! I have tubes in every purse. 🙂

Well, if you don’t have the 10-pan shadow palette in Versus that I mentioned, it is AMAZING. And I love using their jumbo eye pencils as shadow bases. Oh, and the cream blushes are perfect!

Ahh I wish my look was as fun as yours today! I just whipped out my UD Naked palette, applied Sin on the lid, and a mixture of Naked and Buck in the crease. Then I put UD eye pencil in Bourbon on my upper lashline and waterline, swiped on mascara and lip balm, and called it a morning. It’s my easy, quick. “oh-god-I’m-exhausted-and-have-so-much-studying-to-do” look.
Sounds pretty, Gina. Bourbon is my one of my go-to UD pencils too, btw. 🙂

I have Laura Mercier Tinted Mousturizer in Sand on the face, Smashbox Softbox Vanilla, Sugar, Flirt and Nude with their Bronze eyeliner that comes with the palette and Full n Soft mascara on the eyes, a pink Estee Lauder GWP blush and Clinique Pink Goddess lipstick over Estee Lauder 01 Pink lip pencil. Tabs looks quite moved BTW – I think he approves of your lovely FOTD!

Gah! I love that Dogon eyeshadow so much! But I have no idea when it’ll be released in Australia, not to mention the fact that it’ll be way expensive.
Today I’ve gone real simple with my makeup since I had to be up obscenely early for work. It’s just Mac dazzlelash mascara, Nars deep throat blush, Mac cultured lipglass and Mary Lou-manizer as highlight and a bit on the eyes. Looks nice and polished, but I prefer to get more elaborate with my eyes if I have the time, which I sadly did not this morning.
I hope it’ll come out your way soon, Salvinia. When you see it you’ll definitely have to mix the shades… the duochrome is crazy!
Did you you have a special project at work? What’s your job like?
Oh, nothing so exciting, just plain old customer-service shift work. I mostly work afternoons and evenings, which is great, because I am in no way a morning person!
