Now shipping, the new favorite fragrance of Fort Knox’s male employees, 1 Million Eau de Toilette ($69)!
Okay, maybe not, but doesn’t the bottle look just like a gold bar?
“Excuse me, sir, but I think that’s my gold bar you have there. It must have fallen out of my pocket (?).”
Since I’ve been baptizing myself on an almost daily basis lately with Paco Rabanne Lady Million, I couldn’t wait to try the version for men, particularly after MBB reader Kim said that it was the bestselling fragrance in duty free stores.
Sure, the bottle has that Monopoly-meets-a-Spanish galleon vibe, but it’s growing on me. I appreciate the clean lines, and I think the design authentically represents the scent.
El Hub likes the bottle. He called it “shiny” (man of few words) and said it could double as a weapon — which is a good thing, apparently.
Yeah, I guess this one’s marketed for boys, LOL! 🙂

Like the version for women, this 1 Million boasts a blend of spicy notes mixed with citrus and warm amber.
The official fragrance notes include…
- Top: grapefruit, mint and blood mandarin
- Middle: rose, cinnamon and spice
- Base: leather, white wood, amber and Indonesian patchouli
I call it a woody oriental — a little more formal than the kinds of men’s fragrances I usually like (hello, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Pour Homme!), but it has a sexy warmth I like.
Picture a devilishly charming business dude in a pinstripe suit. Or better yet, you’re trapped in an elevator alone with Don Draper, and he smells just like this!
If you like spicy scents on your guy, fragrances like Calvin Klein Obsession, John Varvatos, Gucci Envy for Men or Giorgio Armani Code, 1 Million for men might be something you’ll like.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Bienvenidos a hump day!

Hahaha! “Monopoly-meets-a-Spanish galleon vibe”-I love that line! You have a gift Karen!
My hubby has been wearing this since it came out-it’s great!
agreed! karen, you should write a book! you’re so talented!
Aw, thanks Tracy and Carmen! 🙂
Whooo!!! That is baller! 😀
Iono – the Hubs is pretty set in his perfume ways. Im not sure if this will make him change his mind. 😀
Monopoly meets a Spanish galleon vibe – so true so true!
Guys are funny that way. The ones I know find one scent and they stick to it for YEARS.
seems like something cool i’d purchase as a gift.
i’ll just add this: your giveaways dont have to just be for girls. i dont have a bf or anything but i do have some male folk in my life like my dad and brothers and friends. im sure your other readers would appreciate a male-friendly giveaway as well. 🙂
I think this would be a great gift for guys… they’d be wowed by the packaging, for sure.
Oh, and thanks for the feedback regarding giveaways. I’ll keep that in mind!
HAHA! Love it! I swear that I had a dream last night that I was reading your blog and you had mentioned something I said (I can’t recall what it was, but it wasn’t this). Premonition? Probably not. Just the law of averages since I comment you to death! 🙂
WEIRD!! Now all you have to do is dream up some winning lottery numbers… 😀
That would be ideal! 🙂
What did El Hub think of the scent? Did he like it?
Also, I’m betting it’s the best selling duty-free cologne because of the bottle. So manly! So elegant and rich looking! Gold bars! 🙂
He liked it, but felt it was a little too fancy for him. He’s a jeans and t kinda boy, though.
Oh man, I really can’t read. I thought your title said “It’s Shaped Like a Gold Bear” and I was like srsly? where?!
I have a bad habit of just reading the first few letters of a word and then finishing the rest of the word in my head without following through and actually reading it. I just woke up, too.
But YES, it does look like a gold bar. Bar, not bear. 😛
HA HA HA! Call me crazy, but I think a gold bear bottle would be kind of awesome.
Seriously! I think so, too! That’s why I was all excited. I need to see that happen one day.
How funny! This is my dads fav cologne brand, he wears it all the time. I wonder if this smells anything like the OG one? I think I’m going to have to get this for him.
My dad used to wear Paco Rabanne back in the day, too. I vaguely recall the bottle being dark green… hmm.
From what I recall the OG one was spicy, too!
It was green! Oh memories!
LOL! I bet dads all across the land rocked the Paco! 🙂
karen do you have any idea where this is sold besides a Sephora? or is it only at Sephora? i can’t figure it out! I want to smell it before I would buy it for my “el hub”! 🙂 I just can’t seem to figure out where to find it! I unfortunately don’t have a Sephora in the middle of plain ole Pennsylvania.
