Tattoos have been a hot beauty theme lately (have you checked out Chanel’s temporary tattoos or Kat Von D’s popular makeup line at Sephora?), so I suppose it was only a matter of time before ink made its way onto a curling iron.
If you like the look of vintage tattoos, take a gander at this True Tattoo Tourmaline Curler by Amika ($169). I love how funky it looks, but the curler feels a little awkward in my hands. I’ve used curling irons with clamps since I was a little girl (lately I’ve been loving the T3 Twirl), and that’s a lot of muscle memory, yo! I definitely consider myself a tattoo lover, although I don’t have many. But I hate Ed Hardy and anything resembling Audigier’s designs. No offense to anyone who digs this trend, but of all the people I know who have some serious ink on them, none of them accessorize with tattoo paraphernalia.
I like the concept of the curler but Ed Hardy and Christian Audigier have ruined absolutely any love I might have had for tattoo art on accessories. I am curious to check this out (clamp free!) but in another design or no design at all.
I hear ya on the fickleness. If and when I finally arrive to getting a tattoo, there will be a long lengthy thought process in weighing out what I want, where I want it, and how big I want it to be.
So cute … 🙂 I dont really curly my hair though because I dont know how. My curler lies at the bottom of my beauty tools drawer – unloved and untouched! 🙂
I concur with the woman above when they say they dislike Ed Hardy and all the “fake” tattoo stuff. I think you either get areal tattoo or don’t even bother.
I am SO bad with curling irons, I never got the hang of them and my hair doesn’t hold a curl anyway, so this one would be especially challenging for me!

I am very used to using curling irons with clamps too but I would like to try one with just the rod, only I think I would risk burning my fingers because I am so clumsy. i have seen pursebuzz use a clamp-free iron and the curls look great. With a clamp curling iron, I sometimes get my hair caught in it and I end up loosing unnecessary hair!

I also agree with the previous posters about the Ed Hardy/Christian Audigier tattoo designs. They are just not for me.
I have naturally curly hair, so I usually straighten it for a different look, but I have been known to pull out a curling iron or two for a different look. It’s not often, but it does happen!
I have the Superman ‘S’ tattoo to the right of where a traditional tramp stamp would be and I love it! Love it! It hurt like something awful, but that was before I had kids, so I’m pretty sure I could handle two more, I’d like my childrens’ names put on me!
I looked at the 5th picture and I was like, “It looks like a sex toy!”
I don’t have any tattoos because in order to put some ink on my body, it has to be meaningful.

I have an iron from amika! I love it so much i definitely recommend buying it. It makes your hair super soft and shiny and lasts for a long time. I bought it at an amika stand so mine was much cheaper, but still expensive. The straightening iron is also great… I wish i had it lol.
For people who have concerns about the tattoos on the iron they have others without them : )
Also they give you a glove that’s “heat resistant”… but it doesn’t work well. I recommend buying the one on amazon it’s much better <3
