Need big hair in a hurry (heck, you never know)? Big Sexy Hair to the rescue!
Get long-lasting shine and touchable hold in a heartbeat (or so the company claims) with new Spritz & Stay ($15) non-aerosol hairspray. It’s formulated with “fast-dry technology” to (you guessed it) dry f a s t .

I needed help locking down the volume of my Snooki poof yesterday, and Big Sexy did the deed. I can’t tell if it dries any quicker than other styling products, but I like the hold. It certainly kept my poof nice and high! 🙂
With hold like this, my hair isn’t exactly blowing in the wind — which reminds me, I love the fruit punch scent — but it doesn’t feel crunchy or cemented in place, either.
Available at most beauty supply stores and also online.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Here in Missouri you can get it in Walmart.
Good to know! Thanks, Lisa.
How’s the weather out your way today?
Sunny, WIIIINNDY and 64 degrees! I love fall, and if the wind would die a bit, this weather would be perfect!
Ahhh, sounds lovely! 🙂 It’s quite windy here too now.
This part of MO is windy, too. The scary, howling kind!
Oh, that type of wind freaks me out. It turns Tabs into crazy kitteh, too!
You know what kills me? Wind chill. Can’t hang with that!
Hi Karen,
I’ve been a daily follower of your blog (which is amazing btw), and just wanted to say that your blush today looks amazing! which product are you using?
Hi Annie,
So glad you decided to pop in and say hello! The blush in this pic is from the new A MAC Tartan Tale collection and it’s called My Highland Honey. You can see a swatch along with product pictures in this post:
MAC A Tartan Tale Swatches: Well Plaid, MAC… Well Plaid
I heart the whole look you have going on here…..I can’t pull off the poof, but you look so fresh and youthful! Your skin looks amazing 🙂 What are you wearing on your cheeks – anything? Bronzer?
Hi Stalkthepostman,
Thanks much, babe! That’s MAC A Tartan Tale Blush in My Highland Honey. Yeah, I’m officially obsessed with it. Got some swatches here:

For some reason your post took be back and it reminded me of hair net. Omg, i use to use that stuff back in the ’90s in middle school. It was sticky, crunchy and it kept my perm un place. Memories Lol
Haha, I totally know what you’re talking about. I remember going into the girl’s bathroom during break and there being a visible haze of Aqua Net in the air!
Fruit punch scent? You sold me right there. I love when things smell yummy and fruity. And that poof looks awesome on you. You should do that more often.
LOL, it’s kinda eighth grade for me… I totally rocked my hair like that back in the day.
I love love loveeeee this look on you!!!!! You look so young and amazing! You should do it more often!
Thanks, Margaret. 🙂
id like a case pls! 😀 my fine hair needs this!
Hee hee! Do you ever do big hair? I hear it’s the thing out there in Texas!
hardly ever — the most recent one was during my cousin’s birthday. it was a huge event and my aunt hired a makeup guy/gay to do our hair and makeup. he gave me big curls – my hair was almost waist lenght then and he had loads of fun curling it! 😀
it was sooooooo crazy and soooo Texan! 😛
That sounds so CRAZY COOL! I bet it looked awesome! 🙂
LOL! At first glance, it looks like you’re rocking a mullet! Thanks for brightening up my afternoon.
LOL!! I have a weird fascination with mullets. I probably couldn’t pull one off for reals, but I still think they’re oddly kinda cool.
How’s your day going?
Haha mullets are a HUGE thing at my cosmetology school.
LOL, I’ve noticed they’ve experienced a revival in the last few years. Some edgy looking girls can really pull ’em off!
I’m especially loving the gloss, Karen! Is it something peachy-tinted?
Hi Shannon!
It’s a sheer red from NARS called Babe.
I have some Big Sexy Hair volumizing shampoo that I really like. I found it at a Filene’s Basement store though, so I’m not sure if that means they are not making the product any more.
I like the brand, so once I finish my ginormous bottle of Kenra hair spray I will have to try this. I like that it smells of fruit punch. Yummy!
Hi Ruchita,
They make some cool products. Do you flat iron? They make this really awesome heat protectant/flat iron spray.
Yep, I do flat iron my hair pretty often and right now I’m using an awesome product called Sebastian Trilliant. I love trying out new hair products though, so I will definitely try more of their products. 🙂
Oh wow, I haven’t used Sebastian in YEARS. I used to be a Molding Mud girl back in the day. 🙂
Funny you should mention flat ironing, because I’m about to do that right now!
I just recently bought the Trilliant product based on a reccomendation from a sales associate. It has these tiny sparkles in it which makes my hair super shiny. I almost feel like I have shampoo commercial hair. 🙂
Karen, first thing I thought when I saw this update was, “Dang, she’s got it goin ON!” In short, your hair looks great like that!
Happy Tuesday by the way. Hope your week is going okay!
Thanks, Kristen. Okay, apparently I need to start rockin’ the Snooki poof on the regular. 🙂
My Tuesday’s been great so far. How’s yours been?
I can’t complain. 😀 Today is a day off for me, so I spent some time relaxing in the bath, doing the homework I haven’t had time for and veggin’ out infront of the TV.
And yeah, the Snooki poof, when pulled off correctly, looks great! I wish my sleek, thick hair would stay voluminous without looking like I was stuck out in the heat after a rainstorm. Unfortunately, unless I straighten it, my hair has a mind of its own, chemical chemistry be damned!
Ahh, nice. I love days off when you can catch up stuff AND relax. Did you watch any good shows? Lately I’ve been into random reality TV — Dancing With the Stars (LOL), The Buried Life (which is actually really interesting and funny) and Top Chef: Just Desserts. My brain is turning into mush…
You look amazing here!
Thanks, Myr!
Do you ever do big hair like this? It’s kinda fun!
That’s good news about the spray! I’ve tried their volumizing shampoo and conditioner before and they turned my hair to straw after one use. They have such a large range of products that some are bound not to be winners for everyone, though.
Girl, I gotta tell ya, your skin looks amazing. I know this is a hair post, but I just had to comment on your face. haha! What skin products do you use?
I love the poof! It looks awesome! How’d you do it?
I lived through the ’80s (which was a time of big hair) so it wasn’t that hard because I’ve had a lot of practice, LOL!
In a nutshell: spritz the roots, use a brush to hold ’em up, blow dry until they’re standing, and then shape the rest of the bangs by popping a brush behind them and molding the bangs over the brush (a barrel brush helps). Then mist with hairspray to seal it all in place.
I like this hair on you! Would you recommend this hairspray for everyday volume? Or just for poofs like this?
