Three words: Hourglass. Ambient. Dupe.
Yeah, I went there. I totally did.
These Luminizing Glow Powders by Honest Beauty… I would bet my tabby’s stripes that the team behind them had the Hourglass Ambients firmly in mind, because they look and feel just like ’em. They have that same lovely low-key luminosity — same effect that you can kindasorta tell is there if you look really, really closely — and the powder grains are just fine, fine, fine.
Like Michael B. Jordan fine.
FOINE.
Even better, the pans are pretty big (0.35 ounces), and they’re only $19.99 each, but the bad news is that they aren’t available in as many colors as the Hourglass Ambients. These only come in two shades… The lighter one is Midnight Reflection, a pale peachy beige reminiscent of Hourglass Incandescent Light (you could say that it’s a touch less pigmented, but they’re still very similar). I use it as an inner corner highlight, a brow bone highlight, and, on the rare occasions when I wear powder under my eyes, as a setting powder for under-eye concealer. It’s b-o-m-b on all those fronts.
Oh, sure, you can also wear it as a cheekbone highlight, of course, and I’ve tried it, but I think it’s just a tad too light on my skin to do it often. But if you’re lighter than I am, you could totally rock it that way, no problem.

The darker shade, a.k.a “my jammy-jam-jam,” is Dusk Reflection. It’s a warm, peachy golden tan — like a slightly deeper version of Hourglass Radiant Light — and I like to work it by sweeping it onto my cheeks as a combo blush/bronzer, and then using it in my crease as a shadow.

When you wear it on top of tinted moisturizer or your favorite “I’m in a hurry!” foundation, it adds a perfect amount of color and radiance without looking muddy. It’s a perfect winter bronzer because it’s tan and toasty but not super orange.
All I know is that I look less undead when I have it on, ha ha! — and that makes it a winner in my book.

You can find it at Target and the Honest Beauty website.

P.S. Happy day-after-Christmas! ??

These powders are stunning! I’ll admit, I never jumped onto the Hourglass bandwagon – I know, I know! But seeing how beautiful Dusk Reflection looks on you may have converted me to trying these out, especially at the cheaper price point!
Great, Kelly!
I have the Hourglass but still might purchase the Honest to carry around .
That’s a good idea, Michele!
Wow, what a find! I love the Hourglass powders so much, even though I don’t use them as much these days. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Awesome, thanks Erica!
I’ll have to try these! Hourglass is out of my price range!
Yeah, Hourglass is pricey. This is a good dupe though!
I really love the zombie photo ??
These are really pretty! I don’t do too many powder products on my cheeks but I might check these out.
You could pull off the lighter color, for sure! I bet it would look beautiful on you.
Where is your shirt from? It’s so cute.
Hi Sophia,
The gray shirt with the flowers is by LOFT. I got it during Black Friday.
Going to purchase this ASAP! I’m loving the HONEST sheer lippies you posted about.
Hi Nicole,
I’ve reviewed the Demi-Mattes and will have a review on the Sheers coming out soon! Happy Friday!
Oh, pretty! I might have to get Midnight Reflection and try it out.
I hope you do! It’s lovely.
