I’m a firm believer in treating yourself for…pretty much any accomplishment. Making it through another day, finishing the laundry, cleaning the bathroom, taking out the garbage — you name it.
No, seriously! Before last weekend was over, I was feeling the Sunday scaries — you know, that feeling you get you reeeeeeally aren’t ready for the week ahead — so I told myself, while I walked around downtown San Rafael with the coywolf and El Hub did a quick project at work, that I could treat myself to anything under 20 bucks.
There were quite a few contenders at Ulta and Copperfields Books…
1. Fizz & Bubble Bubble Bath Cupcakes, $6

2. Tony Moly Pocket Bunny Mists, $15 each

3.Tony Moly Hair Packs, $16.50 each

4. Write It Down Let It Go Worry Relief Journal, $14.95

5. Gummy Gear Jelly Hand Gels, $8 each

6. Van Goh’s Sunflower Soap, $3.50

7. Have a little Pun Notecards, $14.95

8. Tony Moly Mango Mild Sun Block, $19.50

9. Tony Moly Banana Sleeping Pack, $16.50

10. Sock It To Me Butterfly Knee-High Socks, $10.99

I ended up going with this $8 Kiwi Gummy Bear Hand Jelly from a Korean brand called Skin Food at Ulta.
I named him Marvin, and now he lives in my purse!
I never thought I’d be able to say this…
But I can get the baby out of the house and into the the car in less than 10 minutes now!
You guys, I can’t even begin to tell you what an accomplishment this is! Because when Connor was super tiny, it would take me half an hour to get all of her stuff together in her diaper bag, and everything sorted, and her food, and get her dressed, and get her fed so that she wouldn’t get hungry for the next three hours. And THEN to get her into her car seat.
Now, though, I’m much more streamlined. I just stick on her shoes, grab her diaper bag, and buckle her into her seat.
Ten minutes. TEN MINUTES! I never thought I’d see the day…
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

The Tony Moly products are so cute! I have to check them out at Ulta. Congrats on hitting the 10 minute mark getting Connor in the car! I can imagine it takes some getting used to!
Hi Tanya,
If you can find them try the Tony Moly Hand Creams. I loved every single one I tried down to the last drop!
Haha, wait till Connor approaches 2. Then you go backward and then some and it takes you two hours to get out of the house!!! O_o LOL
I was just thinking today that her terrible twos may have started waaaay early. She recently learned how to throw tantrums, oh boy!
Good work on getting Connor out the door so quickly! Enjoy these days when you’re not constantly yelling “Let’s go! NOW! We’re late!”. HAHA!
Karen, I am in no way judging your purchases but how could you leave without those note cards?! I’m 100% in love with them, so thanks for sharing. And they’re right up your Punny alley! 🙂
Ewe so crazy!!
SERIOUSLY I regret not getting them. It was the last box, too. I think I’ll have to order them online next time I’m in the mood to get myself a little somethin’ somethin’.
Nice!
Eventually, you’ll be able to just toss a diaper in your purse and get in the car.
Ahh, to get to that stage! That’s the dream right there! Someday, someday.
Tony Moly is such fun! I got an egg mask the other day to try the brand out and i was surprised to see how potent it was! Happy Spring!
Hi Eleni,
I’m curious about the Egg Mask. What does it smell like? Please don’t say eggs, LOL!
Lool!! Nope, smell is neutral, almost not there for me, goes unnoticed. The mask feels very frothy to the touch, like a frothy meringue!!!
When I need a pick me up, I get a mask at the Korean market for $1. Love those cheap aloe ones!
Yeah, those are great! So affordable, too.
Ooh I don’t think I’d have been able to leave without the Van Gogh soap! Love it!
And girl, I feel you on the ‘getting out of the house with a baby’ front. Making sure everything I’ll need is in the nappy bag (diaper bag), feeding and changing her just before we go so she’ll be happy for a few hours… I’m glad to hear it gets easier!
It does! Hang in there. Eventually you figure out that if you keep a few necessities in the diaper bag you’ll be fine. And chances are you won’t really need them if you’re only going out for 2-3 hours. Have you found a baby carrier yet? I keep meaning to tell you the one we use is the Ergo Baby 360.
Tony Moly stuff is so cute. I have a kitty cat powder compact from them, and some lip shaped lip balms that smell like honey and blueberry.
Ten minutes is very impressive! Some days I can’t get my 19- and 22-year-olds out of the house that quickly. lol
Enjoy the tn minuts while they last. Once they are older it takes so long again, because they run around, and after you have everything in the car and did run back to get the teddy, the book, the hair clip desperately needed because you packed the wrong one they inevitably have to pee…
I love this post! Yes, I feel like I’m enjoying a bit of retail therapy with you(albeit a day behind.) Good or you getting Connor ready in 10 min. Taking care of a tiny human sounds daunting.
