I’m off of work next week, so I definitely will be doing some post-Christmas shopping. I am not much for shopping during the holiday season, but I like going after when the deals are better and the stores are (hopefully) less crowded.
I always carry a lip balm and a sheer lipstick in my purse to keep my lips moisturized and pretty with a pop of color.
One Victoria’s secret “oatstanding” lipgloss, one Mary Kay lipstick, one Bigelow mint lip balm.
My five minute makeup look: bare minerals foundation, Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eyeliner, Maybelline mascara (whichever one has the bendy brush – the name escapes me right now). Boom.

Cleaned out my purse when we got home this evening from a few days away. I’m rather embarrassed to admit that I had five lippies in my purse. Oh yes, I sure did. Ha!
Last time I checked I had about 3/4 lip products in my purse. I throw whatever lipstick or gloss I’m wearing that day in my bag, and I always forget I have them in my bag so they just accumulate until I realize half my lipsticks are gone.

In my purse right now I have YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in Fuschia in Rage, a shimmering pink/lilac, Clinique’s Black Honey, which I’ve been wearing for 20+ years now, Two Faced La Creme in Lollipop, a subtle violet/orchid, and Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly, a glossy muted plum.

When I spend the holidays away from home, it’s always with family.

The other item I have is a Cover Girl Lip Slick in clear. My favorite Christmas song is “Pretty Paper.” It has been sung by several people including Willie Nelson and Roy Orbison. I’m usually just a Blistex gal, but these look easy (and moisturizing!) enough to use in place of my beloved Blistex.
I spent 21 years in the Navy, so most of the holidays during my adult life were spent away from “home”. That said, home is what you make it, and family can be pretty flexible. My parents were always fine with celebrating a month early or late, and I’ve always been one to enjoy family of choice as well as of birth, so it never really felt like I was not with people I cared about, you know what I mean?
My quick makeup just consist of eyes and lips. I take care of my skin at night, so no need for foundation in the morning

I keep at least 10+ lip products in my bag on a regular basis. I always keep a nude, 1 or 2 red, 1 or 2 burgandy, a nude gloss, and at least 4 lip liners in different colors. In addition to that I keep a lip primer, my lip lock product from elf that keeps my reds from bleeding and of course my aquaphor to keep my lips hydrated. Boy that’s a lot isn’t it!!

I take forever to do my makeup, no matter how basic, but 5 minutes usually means curled lashes and mascara, brows, blush, and if I have time, under eye concealer.
no more shopping for me until new year’s – broke until next payday on the 31st!
