Summer might seem like a zillion cold days away, but it’ll be here before ya know it.
At least that’s what I tell myself every time I put on that third outer layer before leaving the house…
Stepping outside lately involves an infinity scarf, a thick jacket, a zippered hoodie and a button-down sweater. It’s a process! 🙂
Barely a week into winter, and I’m already thinking about summer.

This year, my favorite project was that we made a kitchen table out of an old bowling alley.
I was very close to my maternal grandfather. I went to college nearby and started cutting his hair so he didn’t have to bother going to get it cut. It wasn’t too hard because he was mostly bald! I was his barber until he passed away at age 95.

I do have fond memories with my grandparents–they would take care of me, my brother, and three of my cousins when our parents were at work. My grandma would yell “Food!” really loudly at lunchtime, and my grandpa would tell us stories of old Chinese folk tales. 🙂
Coffee ice cream!!
I actually started remodeling my kitchen in December, and it has been a huge challenge since our house was built in the 60s. Let’s just say, there weren’t really walls behind our old cabinets. Doing home improvements over the holidays has been so stressful! My husband and I are doing the majority of the work ourselves, but we had some help from his father. It’s still far from finished (we lack counter tops and a sink) but the cabinets are in place, at least! I can see the finish line…it’s so close…I miss my sink!
I like to bring back art from places I visit, so my walls are now pretty completely covered in stuff. Every room but the bathrooms (which get too damp) is full.
I am super close to my Grandma as the 1st born grandchild. She tells me I am her favorite ;0)lol!

I was really close to my grandparents on my dad’s side, but they passed away a few years ago. I used to live with them during the summers to help take care of them. I miss them a lot. I had a tradition of baking a trillion Christmas cookies with my Grandma every year, and she gave me all of her baking things when she passed away, so I can still make her cookie recipes every Christmas 🙂

Home Improvment projects. Wow. yes. yes, i did. or at least tried. haha. i thought i could replace the spray hose thing in my kitchen sink if i just watched a you tube video that showed step by step instructions. boy was i wrong. it looked so easy on the video! i gave it my best shot, then called my brother who had it done in 10 minutes.
