I have had two pet birds, both as a teenager. First, I had Lucky, a green and yellow parakeet. He earned his name after flying into our backyard in Florida (maybe someone’s escaped pet?) and being captured by our Maltese, Snowball. My Dad was able to rescue him from the dog’s jaws before he was injured. He lived with me as my pet for many years before passing away. Awhile later, I adopted a beautiful blue and white parakeet named Peaches. He lived with me until I moved away to college where my roommate had cats. I didn’t feel he would be safe around her cats, so a lovely bird-loving lady gave him a nice home with her other parakeets.

I had a pet bird years ago but we have cats now so a bird is not a good idea.

Karen, this is adorable! I never had a pet bird because a family member was allergic to them. It’s probably for the best, though, as we had hunter cats!
Our house is only minimally decorated for Christmas–we have a wreath on our door and a painted wooden snowman on our porch, and we just put up our tree on Sunday. A few more inside decorations will come up with the ornaments for the tree.

I watched a YouTube video last night. The girl was suppose to be teaching how to make your lashes look like false lashes using only mascara. It literally took her 5 min of applying mascara over and over and over- for 1 eye! But then she continued to add another mascara to the same eye. 10 min per eye! I love my nickname because it links in so many ways, the main one is mousie from my dad which works because i have been told mishka means mouse in polish. the spelling may be incorrect but i guess how it is pronounced is what matters.
I straightened my hair for years and it usually took an hour to an hour and a half to style. Then one day I decided healthy hair and an extra few minutes of sleep were far more important than stick straight locks. I now embrace my curls… frizz and all!

She was one of 3 lovely cats I had, Grayson was a grey & white tuxedo bratcat, and Lil Buddy was a giant Siamese. All were throwaways in the country, who became my babies. They are all at Rainbow Bridge now. Lost Lil Buddy just one year ago last week. I have new cats now, although I didnt raise the HoboKitty, and he loves my fiance better than me! I have another baby named Georgie. They are both yellow-orangey ginger kitties. {the Hobo used to be my ex sis in Law’s cat, Georgie was a baby feral I took (coerced) in with food}

My mother had two parakeets when I was growing up. One bright green and a pale blue. Both males. They were beautiful. The green parakeet used to make noise and “dance” whenever my mother had certain music on. He’d just swish back and forth and chirp!

I am loving the holidays. I’m actually very organized this year (which is a surprise even to me — lol).

Last week my favouritest Snuggie was stolen out of my car (along with a bunch of other things) – and one of my closest friends surprised me with a new deluxe one the other night at work just because. I cried – so blessed!
I had two pet birds when I stayed in China for 3 months! I asked about them a few months later when I was already home, and my relatives told me they “flew away.” 🙁

We have a parakeet named Truffles and he is an old man. He is almost 13 and he has been having an amazing life and makes us very happy daily. We love him dearly.
Yes I briefly had 2 pet birds, Romeo & Juliet. I eventually gave them to my mom though after realizing bird care took A LOT of work.

Birds always make me think of my grandma as she has 3 birds. One of them got out of its cage once and she couldn’t find him for hours. He’d flown onto her mantle where she has lots of knickknacks. He hid by standing very still, she thought he was just a figurine (which is funnier because I don’t think she actually has a bird figuring, but he was very convincing!)
I heart birds, makeup and Kate Spade, therefore I need this giveaway!
