Two things I saw yesterday while doing last-minute Christmas shopping at the mall…
A woman with a “COEXIST” bumper sticker on her car completely losing her sh*t in the parking lot. That’s how bad it was out there. There were a TON of people out shopping, and I kid you not, it took us more than an hour just get out of the parking lot!
The woman who started road raging was trapped in the parking lot with us and thousands of other people. I felt for her, but no one could do anything about it. There were so many cars jamming up the rows, trying to either find parking or make it to the exits, that she couldn’t back her car out. We were in one of the cars stuck in the row next to her, and at one point, she started yelling at no one in particular and shaking her fists in the air while I watched her through our windows and It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year played over the car radio… It was like some weird scene from a Judd Apatow movie.
El Hub getting props for his vehicular dance moves. Trapped in the mall parking lot, we started going a little stir crazy in the car after a while, singing off key and dancing in our seats. El Hub was doing the robot when a dude driving in the opposite direction made eye contact with him. The dude smiled awkwardly and gave us the “whassup” nod before cracking up. I laughed for a good five minutes after that…

My nighttime skincare routine involves a new toy–a Clarisonic! It already seems to be working wonders! I usually use a gentle cleanser, eye cream from Origins and anti-aging serum or cream too.
Neutrogena is always an instabuy from me!
I just found out I don’t like waterproof mascara–way too much trouble to remove! but I love L’Oreal mascaras.
I have alternating green and red nails, with a healthy dose of glitter, of course.

Nope,never do multi-colored nails, just doesn’t seem classy to me. I have a short list of nail colors based on the time of the year: November thru February, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Pres Day: OPI red (or Revlon Love that Red); month around Easter: OPI Japanese Rose Garden; all other times a natural looking lady-like neutral natural sheer pink. Now as to my toes–that’s another matter. Ho Ho Ho!

My nighttime skin routine is Neutrogena’s Clear Pore Oil-Eliminating astringent, Target’s Up & Up pimple cream, St. Ives Collagen Elastin Facial Moisturizer, and followed with the option Pond’s Dry Skin cream if needed.
I’ve started putting coconut oil on my face during the evening. So far so good.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the L’Oreal Shine Caresse Glosses… because I clearly need more lip products in my life.

My fave shower gel these days is from Body Time (stores in Berkeley and Oakland, but they also have an online store), custom scented with the fragrance “Grass”! It’s very… grassy, green, just like freshly mowned grass, and I find it very energizing.

I went skiing today, and knew from prior experience that EVERYTHING on my eyes smudges up there: liner, shadow, mascara… So I just curled my lashes and put on some Stila smudge crayon in antique, a softly metallic light pink to highlight my monolids. Whaddya know? The product doesn’t blend well, so I wore it solo and as eyeliner, but it stayed all day! Only eye makeup product ever to do so. Even the stila smudge sticks did not work. I’m on the hunt for the gel liner equivalent!
I DID venture out to do some last minute shopping today. Luckily, the shops we went to were on the edge of town, so I just kinda skirted the edges of the craziness
My favorite lip balm so far is Nivea A Kiss of Moisture.
Unfortunately, we had to brave the circus because we needed groceries. But, we stayed local and avoided the mall. I found this year to be the most troublesome when it came to shopping due to having my son with me while shopping. He doesn’t mind it too much until we sit idle in line for a long time.

I don’t wear fake nails, because I can keep my own quite nicely, but I *never* paint them all the same color. My favorite thing to do is to paint each one half red and half black pearl, vertically. I find that this makes my fingers look long and slender, always a good thing! 🙂 First, I paint all my nails with the lighter color, or with the thinner nail polish, then once that has dried, I simply paint over half of each nail with the remaining color (I cover half of the nail I’m painting with sticky tape if I want to be really exact, and just peel the tape up and move it over when I’m done). I also often reverse the colors on each hand, just because I can.

I have a couple favorite lip balms. I love the Nivea ones because of the twist cap. They are very moisterising. I have always loved lip smacker because of how good they smell and taste! At the moment I am also loving the baby lips by maybelline as well!

My stocking is a cool pink knitted affair with a sparkly brooch on it that an aunt made me. It’s pretty neat. I also have one that is a snowman that is cross stiched that another aunt made me. I just have them all line up on the mantle for show.

I found my new favorite lip balm at a really fancy Walgreens the other day–Nuxe Reve de Miel balm (the potted kind). It was very weird to see Walgreens carrying this brand.
My stocking is AMAZING. My great-aunt knit it for me the year I was born, so this is its 46th year hanging off my mantel. It’s red, green, and white and has my name knit right into it. It’s like an ugly Christmas sweater!
