1. Trader Joe’s Chili Lime Seasoning Blend
I usually don’t like spicy seasoning because I don’t like it when my tongue feels like it’s on fire or when I’m excessively drooling, but I’m totally down with this mix of chili powder, salt and lime, which has a little bit of heat to it (not so much that I can’t handle it). Apparently, it’s TJ’s take on something called Tajín?

Anyway, I love it. And I’ve been putting it on everything, including the Thai-inspired ground lime chicken I whipped up a few nights ago with chopped cucumber, pineapple and watermelon.
Seriously, this stuff makes even the most mediocre watermelon, of which I’ve had many this year (not a great year for ?), taste delish.
2. MAC Half ‘N Half Lipstick
This neutral creamy pink lives in the MAC permanent line, and it has MAC’s Amplified formula, so it’s moderately shiny and majorly pigmented.

3. Doing air squats with a medicine ball
OK…you put the ball under your butt, then lower yourself into a squat until your “cheeks” touch the ball before you rise back up again.
Why would any sane person do this, you might ask?
Good question. ?
Well, it basically forces you to get loooooooow and drop into a deeper squat than you might otherwise, and every time I do air squats this way, my legs are toast the next day, and I can barely walk up and down two stairs.
It’s simultaneously wonderful and terrible at the same time. LOL!
4. Tuna, Greek yogurt and sweet relish
My new favorite quickie lunch! It takes but a minute to make, and it’s super filling.

For a meal, I’ll mix an entire can of drained tuna with half a cup of nonfat plain Greek yogurt, a few big scoops of relish, and a generous serving of Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel seasoning. Normally, I’ll also have a big bowl of fruit or veggies on the side, and altogether it really fills me up. (You can mix it all together if you want, but I prefer it unmixed.)
And then sometimes for snack time, I’ll just have half a serving instead.
5. Hanging out with Milo
Milo is one of our neighbor’s kitties, and he’s as cute and friendly (and adventurous!) as can be.

What have you been loving lately?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I’m going to have to try out that tuna lunch! Does Milo stop by whenever you make it? ??
Here are a few things I’m loving lately!
My purple hair. I finally dyed my hair mermaid purple and I love it! Hair is turning into my version of self care.
Next season of Shera is out! Woo hoo! Also I’ve been watching Pose on Netflix. It’s beautiful.
Pushups. I hate ab work but I like pushups so it’s a win! My abs always hurt the next day.
Cars covered in bumper stickers. It makes driving more fun! I appreciate learning about the driver through what they choose to slap on their bumpers.
Storms. We’ve been getting a few and I love them.
We’re soul sisters – I discovered Tajin a few months ago and have been obsessed! I’ll put it on any kind of fruit and raw vegetable, and also like it on buttered toast. But my favorite vehicle for the magical seasoning is mango – sweet, tangy and slightly spicy flavours make for the best summer snack.
I also love Half n Half – it’s one of my favourite nudes from MAC, very versatile colour.
I’ve really been enjoying my Charlotte Tilbury quads these days. The Golden Goddess is perfect for a bronze summer look and I also like Pillow Talk and Exagger Eyes when I’m in the mood for rosy or mauve lids.
I also recently discovered Skechers Cleo Bewitch shoes, basically the comfiest flats ever made. I haven’t worn any other shoes since I bought these. The cuteness of a flat with the comfort of a sneaker is all I’ve ever wanted and Skechers delivered 🙂
I definitely have to try these air squats, and I love tuna and Greek yogurt too ?
Some of my fave things lately are:
1. Tuna, tomato and corn salad – I could eat it every day during summer!
2. Long days – I love when the sun sets late, it seems like I can do many more things during the day
3. Mountain walks with my dogs and one of my cats – it relaxes me a lot!
4. The thought that I will soon be on vacation – no need to explain this ?
I love Milo! I’m sure that doesn’t surprise you!
I got back from Montreal Tuesday and have had a bad cold since Sunday that’s starting to get better. Does Mucinex DM count as a thing I like? My brain is not fully functional.
Awwww, Milo is a cutie! Connor is getting so tall…wow!
Five things I’m loving lately:
1. Utah. I’ve missed it since we got back from vacation. Part of me wants to move there, but there’s the whole hubby has a good job here. I would probably miss the trees and being 2 hours away from the ocean, too.
2. Volition Strawberry-C Serum. It has my menopausal skin almost back to normal.
3. Criss-cross rings, especially my black-finish one with little diamonds. I have them in silver, gold, rose gold, and black finishes (sterling silver bases), and some with diamonds. So fun to mix and match.
4. Fenty Beauty Gloss Bombs in Fenty Glow and Fu$$y. Even though I took a billion lippies with me on vacation, these were the two I wore at least 75% of the time. So pretty and easy.
5. NYX Suede Matte and Pin-up Pout lipsticks. Creamy with great colors, many of them off-beat.
I love that chili lime seasoning. I think it makes my watermelon taste like froot loops. Not sure what that says about me.
Those medicine ball squats are the devil’s work. They kill my butt/legs, and I have hard time getting off the couch the next day. They’re amazing.
