1. All the purses at Clare V
Last June, I bought the black Gosee Clutch as a birthday present for myself and I love it!

It’s super soft and big enough to fit the necessities, but it’s not so big that I’m tempted to throw ALL THE THINGS into it. Anywho, I’m now thinking I “need” (air quotes) one of their smaller purses for fall adventures. I like this one and this one!
2. Matte claw clips
“Why are all my claw clips so shiny?”

I found myself wondering this terribly deep thought (ha ha) when I was wandering around Ulta yesterday and ran into a display of matte claw clips.

Anywho, I ended up buying a pair of the matte black ones! Sure, they’re standard issue claw clips, but I feel like the matte finish updates them a little.
3. Kimbap from Trader Joe’s
I feel like everyone and their mama has been talking it up!

TJ’s kimbap is a veggie Korean dish you can find in the frozen section. Think tofu, veggies and rice rolled up in seaweed and cut into pieces — kinda like sushi!
I bought a couple rolls and found that if I’m not in the mood to cook and want something filling but not too heavy, kimbap hits the spot!
Side note, if you’re like me and forever trying to eat enough protein, eat some cottage cheese on the side. It fills out the meal nicely.

Apparently the TJ’s kimbap is sold out in a lot of stores, so if you’re lucky enough to have it in stock at your store, grab a few.
4. Planning stuff way with friends far ahead
For the last few years I haven’t been great about planning timely outings with my friends. Last-minute stuff rarely seems to work out, so I’m actively planning fall excursions with my people far in advance so I have lots to look forward to!
5. The scent of tomato vines
Our deck tomatoes are in full swing right meow!

I love smelling the vines and leaves when I go out there to pick tomatoes. It’s such a small thing, but it brings me so much joy.
What’ve you been loving lately?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. TGIF. Thank you for sweet comments on the “First Day” post from yesterday. Sending you a warm hug on this fabulous Friday!

I hope the first day of school went well for Connor. My son’s been enjoying 4th grade so far as he was lucky enough to end up in the same class as his bestie. All I get from him at drop off these days is “See ya!” Hugs and kisses are for home only lol. Ooh your bag just made me nostalgic! I had a Clare V. Moyen messenger that I wore to death many years ago. My friend and I used to go to her Silverlake store back in the day and it was always fun!
My friend bought a messenger bag on our last trip to the SF store! It is so beautiful and seems to fit a ton. 🙂
Connor’s first day was good. She came home with a smile on her face!
Happy Friday and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I fully support any and all things you get from Clare V. Wearing my Clare V leopard t-shirt I got from Anthropologie today. I am also in huge favor of planning things far, far in advance. I planned out all of the weekends we planned on going to the lake with the girls this summer. Summer goes fast and weekends fill up, so it was quite helpful to have everything penciled out and then make adjustments as needed. I jokingly (not joking?!) told my husband that I want to do everything we did this summer on the same weekend next summer! I’ve been making homemade bruschetta for my lunch for about a month now and I haven’t gotten sick of it yet! Fresh tomatoes are soooo good!
I’ve been loving the Sephora clearance they have going on at Kohl’s right now. Lots of skincare on the website is half off! I did an unexpected splurge and got lots of Fresh products and Dr. Dennis Gross. I will be thanking myself in the fall/winter when I don’t have time to shop but need a good moisturizer!
Honestly, if I could just copy and paste our calendar from one year to the next, I would totally do it, ha ha ha!
Do you put balsamic in your bruschetta?
I do! Balsamic, a little olive oil, basil and a little shredded Parmesan. I put it on garlic toast and it’s so yummy!
Sounds delicious! I just bought some basil. Tomorrow I’m going to pick up a loaf of fresh bread from my fave bakery!
Oooh yum! Headed to the Farmer’s Market in the morning!
Have so much fun! I hope yours has affordable produce. I swear I go to ours and end up spending $16 on like 4 peaches, OMG!
Your tomatoes look divine! I have no green thumb to say the least and I am always jealous of those that can grow those beautiful things! So my 5 things include 1. fresh tomatoes and produce that one can only get in the summer! Thank goodness for farmer’s markets. Also:
2. I have been cross-trained to the Emergency Room. I’ve loved it so much that I am transferring there permanently. In ICU I have gotten the opportunity to save lives which has been so rewarding but also in the ER now and I realize I love being on the frontline.
3. Playing frisbee in the morning with my German Shepherd Puppy. We live on 3 acres surrounded by cornfields. Watching her little personality unfold against a gorgeous backdrop of sun-touched corn tops and green as far as the eye can see has been so soothing to my soul.
4. Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique. This peachy, lychee, bergamont is truly hypnotizing. Plus it is a light fragrance that is surprisingly long-lasting on me. It’s been a wonderful summer scent.
