1. Baked Lemon and Ricotta Cheese from Trader Joe’s
This cheese should come with an addiction warning, OMG! It tastes kinda like a lemony cheesecake but not as sweet, and it’s fantastic with sliced apples or pears. Truth be told, if left unchecked I could easily eat a wedge on its own in a single sitting. It’s really that good! I bought one on Monday and finished it yesterday, and yes, I’m going back for more today. LOL!

2. Avene Xera Calm AD

When my skin is dry and going nuts, it’s the only thing that makes it feel better. I use it all over — face and body.
2. “Only the Lonely” by The Motels
I heard this song while I was driving the other day and remembered how good it is! Even if you’re not a fan of ’80s music, watch the video for the makeup alone. The blush is classic ’80s. Legendary!
4. Topshop Faux Leather Leggings
So warm! So comfy! So versatile!

I bought a pair at Nordstrom during the Anniversary sale, which feels like a million years ago. Anyway, they’re flattering, especially on petites, and dress up or down easily. I’m actually contemplating buying a second pair; I love them that much.
5. 7-Layer Dip
I’m still recovering from Virus Fest 2022, and food still tastes hella wonky! The things I usually like are too strong or have a funky texture… It’s weird. Anyway, 7-Layer Dip is one of handful of dishes that actually taste good. This recipe is a winner for our fam. It includes homemade guacamole, but I use pre-made to save time and effort. Plus, I swear every time I go to the grocery store lately, all the avocados are hard as rocks. I can never seem to find any ripe ones!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. What’ve you been loving lately?

I got Too Faced Brow Wig half off during Ulta 21 Days of Beauty and the auburn is actually really good, I’ve been loving that. I also bought a big full length fleece bathrobe and I look like someone’s grandma but it is amazing and warm.
My equivalent of your Avène is the Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Cream I’ve been slathering on my face and body. FSA eligible too!
I’m 100% behind any and all grandma robes. I have a red and black plaid one that makes me look like I’m a cat lady who hasn’t left the house in years, and I LOVE IT!
Adding that Aveeno cream to my list. I got a 20% off coupon for Ulta and hopefully it’ll be in stock!
Just came here to say I love 7 layer dip, all day every day!
Seriously, why is it so good? LOL I’m going to make another one tomorrow.
7 layer dip is the best! Also, I must have that cheese. How does it melt? I have been loving my Yankee Candle Sage & Citrus lately. Also, Viori shampoo & conditioner bars are. hands. down. the. best. I. have. ever. tried. I got it from Sephora and my hair has never been this soft and manageable plus its so much better for the environment too. Oh, and I have like no hair fallout anymore. It’s seriously freaking amazing. Rhode lip balm is also the most amazing product for my lips too that I have fallen in love with. Anyway…you made me hungry and now I want 7 layer dip! Thanks, Karen lol
Adding that shampoo & conditioner to my list! You know I’m a hair product enthusiast!
So, I’ve never actually tried melting the Lemon Ricotta Cheese. It’s SO GOOD just as it is. I bet if you did melt it, it would be good as a dip for fruit.
You read my mind! I was thinking that it sounded good to dip strawberries in whenever they come back in season. Although, I will have to try some on its own with pears. Btw, I got 7 layer dip last night and it was fantastic lol
LOL, I just made another 7-layer dip for the family to snack on! Seriously, the best! It’s easy, filling and so delicious.
Happy Saturday to you!
I spent the afternoon making Lefse. It’s a soft Norwegian flatbread similar to a crepe but slightly thicker, made out of riced potatoes, flour, cream, salt, and sugar, rolled flat and grilled. My grandmother used to make it all the time. Wonderful rolled up with butter and cinnamon sugar. Don’t ask how much I ate today when they were fresh but I was loving them.
OMG, Karen! I had “Only the Lonely” going through my head pretty much the entire month of October. I heard it on an 80s satellite radio station and it reminded me how much I love that song. Martha’s vocals inspire envy.
I love cheese, but that sounds weird – I would love to try it myself.
TO be honest, I struggle with coming up with 5 things I have been loving right now, but that might be due to the fact that I met with a friend last night (which was lovely) and stayed up way too late. Too little sleep always makes me grumpy.
