I just picked up Lovelight in the new UD lipstick collection. I was a little worried that it would be too pale/not pigmented enough. However, I’m finding that I absolutely love it as a MLBB shade with some sparkle. X3

The only nude lipstick I own is L’Oreal Colour Caresse in Sheer Linen — it doesn’t wash me out, even though I’m super pale.
Right now I have at least 4 mascara still in packages.. untried.. I am dedicating this weekend to playing catch-up with mascara reviews!
My favourite foundation formula is liquid, I love the flawless coverage of liquid and the fact that it doesn’t go under any skin imperfections that I may have.

My go to nude lipstick is Hug Me by Mac. Its perfect because I can where that color with no other make up on literally-and look refreshed. I have a dark lip line and Hug me evens my lip color out, while adding a nice sheen and natural look. I love Freshbrew by Mac as well it gives the same desired look-slightly more tinted though.

I ALWAYS highlight my face, but i never contour; my face is completely cheekbones-less, so contouring appears like dark patches on my skin.
Oh, don’t get me started on nude lipsticks! I’m ultra pale with really pigmented lips, and this combo makes nearly every nude corpselike on me.
Last weekend I finally found one I actually like on me – Nars Biscayne Park. Bonus – I’ve been there for a holiday and it was amazing!

I used to think that highlighters (and bronzers) were completely unnecessary until I picked up Porcelain Pink MSF earlier this year. Talk about life changing because now I have more highlighters than my face will ever use in its lifetime. Not that I even have a ton of makeup to begin with but really I don’t need the amount that I have. Of course that won’t stop me from collecting more 🙂
My favorite pajamas: in the winter, my Nick and Nora snowman pajamas, in the warm weather, a 4xl tshirt (I’m a small in just about everything) and a comfy pair of cotton Chevrolet logo shorts =P

I would love to move to Germany, but Sweden also sounds quite nice because of the way they treat their citizens, especially women. Great education, beautiful people, healthy food, and women are more equally paid in the workplace (or so I hear).

I’m mostly a powder foundation girl for several reasons. First, my super-oily skin eats liquid and cream foundastions for lunch. Powders (at least the good ones) just stick around better. Second, I like a lighter coverage, and it’s pretty easy to adjust a powder through judicious use of buffing. Third, touch-ups are a snap with pressed powder. These days there are plenty of great formulas to choose from, too.

Today I stopped by Sephora Inside JCP and it was not a pleasant experience. Isn’t it weird when you are more aware or knowledgeable about promotions and rewards than the employees? At this point, i think its either they just pretend not to know or are simply useless. Anyone else think these Sephora stores are just horrible? I always reach for liquid or cream foundations. My skin is extremely dry (except for some oil around the eyes), so powder formulas tend to look awful on me and accentuate every little dry patch. I went to a BareMinerals outlet and had my makeup done once, and to get the coverage I wanted, so much powder had to be packed on my face that I just looked like a cakey, ridiculous mess up close, which was rather unfortunate since I much prefer the ingredients in powder formulas. What’s your favorite foundation formula (liquid, stick, cream, powder) and why? Cream only bc of Revlon Whipped Creme Foundation (I have never tried any other cream formulations and would not have if not for the glowing reviews on this one). It’s the only foundation I’ve found that doesn’t do any of the big NO’s: oxidize/change color, irritate my skin, emphasize pores/flakes/lines or looks cakey. It has a semi-matte finish and lasts all day as well. I actually used to buy liquid foundation

Karen, since we’re dreaming: I would totally move to the SF Bay Area–perhaps in the City itself if I could afford a townhouse with its own parking. I have friends and family there and I LOVE it. The crazy weather, the people, the food, the architecture, steep inclines/declines, etc. I’m allergic to a lot of of the Californian flora as well, and the ocean breezes kind of take care of that for me (and I’m sure some of the pollution does as well).
My fruit salad just have strawberries!!! Then pineapple and melons.

My favorite pair of pajamas are from Victoria’s Secret. They’re thermals and they have aqua stripes on them. They’re the most comfortable things in the world and they fit like a glove!! On another note, I like melon type fruits in a fruit salad. I love watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew!! As far as moving somewhere else, California would be really great. I’m a an East Coast girl from Pennsylvania and I’ve always wanted to experience the West Coast. San Francisco would be great…my favorite singer, Chris Isaak lives there. Karen…I love Chris Isaak as much as you love Ryan Gosling!! LOL
My current go-to nude lipstick is BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in Be Free, but I suspect that may change once I receive my most recent Sephora order of Urban Decay Revolution lipsticks! I foresee Naked going into regular rotation soon!

Right now, my go-to nude lip is a bit of Revlon’s ColorBurst lipstick in Peach, with LA Colors nude lipliner as underwear and a bit of Revlon ColorBurst lipgloss in Papaya to give me a hint more colour.

I tried on a couple of the Hourglass nude Stylos at Sephora today, but I just don’t look good in traditional nude lips. My lips are pretty pigmented, and my skin leans a bit ruddy, and the nude just emphasizes the ruddiness and looks weird on my rosy lips. For me to pull off a nude, it has to be sheer, with a coraly or rosy tint to it (Revlon Pink Cognito, L’Oreal Colour Riche Balm in Caring Coral).

Right now I’m loving e.l.f.’s HD powder. It has just barely a hint of shimmer in it, so you’re not left looking white and ghostly like some other powders! Plus, a major point for me is the price – you get a huge container for $7. I find it’s not worth the hefty price tag, for more expensive HD powders I’ve tried.

I don’t highlight that often because I have oily skin and don’t like alot of product on my cheeks. When I do I will usually just swipe the Hourglass ambient powder in ethereal on the tops of my cheekbones for a subtle glow. I’m not into super shimmery highlighters on my cheekbones or brow bone. When I give myself a fair amount of time to get ready in the morning I will contour, or try too. I’ve been collecting contour products recently hoping it will get me to do it on a daily basis as I love a good nude, sculpted cheek. Recently I’ve been trying Burberry earthy blush, Dolce and Gabbana caramel blush, Chanel Notorious, and one of Bobbi Brown’s new bronzer shades in Tawny Brown. Hope you’re having a good weekend!

So I love mango and raspberries in my fruit salad, now I feel like some fruit salad :/ I prefer liquid foundation over the other formulas since it’s so much easier to apply. My favorite foundations are always liquid foundations because I have dry skin year-round and they’re the only ones that don’t emphasize dry patches. 🙂

Well, instead of random fun blabber, I’ll tell you what’s on my mind right now.
It’s currently 12am in Melbourne and I’m feeling mentally tired. I’ve been neglecting my blog lately and I’m feel guilty for not updating my baby as often as I would like. (It’s also THAT time of the month, which I suppose, doesn’t help my mood.)
I’ve contemplated throwing in random filler posts but somehow, I can’t seem bring myself to do it. I don’t find my writing style particularly interesting, hence I try to make up with nice pictures. Oddly enough, I throughly enjoy reading filler post, especially with random facts about a beauty item, beauty secret or their life!
A friend once asked me what do I blog about. I answered ‘beauty’ but she pointed out that blogging about my last holiday etc doesn’t fall into the category ‘beauty’. For the longest time ever, I was determined to put in as little of my ‘life’ into my blog as possible, concentrating on becoming solely a beauty blog. I may abolish that ‘rule’ soon because after reading your posts, I realized I wouldn’t be interested in reading a blog with no ‘life’.
Ah I hope I didn’t bore you too much with this! Writing this really made me think about my blogging style.

My favorite PJ is an old, worn out t-shirt.
i bought my first mac concealer last month and it was mac prolongwear concealer. when i first got it i hated it and really debated returning it. but now that i’ve gotten better at controlling the pump dispenser i’m really glad it didn’t get returned. its really thin but packs a lot of concealing power. and its great for days when i don’t want to wear foundation and just need to cover problem areas =)

If I could live anywhere in the world, I’d love to go back to Loveland, CO. I spent a handful of years there growing up and it was amazing. Four weather seasons and the amazing people (not to mention just a short drive from the mountains!). I think of it when I’m stressed, it’s my zen place. 🙂
My favorite foundation format is a creme or mousse. I currently use a compact foundation because I put my make up on in the car while my husband drives to work and I need something that travels well and I can put on without much work. I’m currently using MAC Studio Fix in NW27 (it is the only format NW27 is offered, I think).
I recently took a vacation to the Dominican and developed a new love for Mangos and Passionfruit!

I don’t wear a nude lip often because I love color! I am so excited for Fall so I can release the purple, rasberry, burgundy, plum, and brown lip colors I was meant to wear.

I love powder foundation applied with a brush for my oily skin. My all time favourite nude lipstick is MAC’s Midimauve but I’m always on the hunt for a new lipstick.

If I could move anywhere, I think it would be to somewhere in Canada that’s kind of on the border of the Northern & Southern halves. I don’t want to rough it that hard, but I do want nature with peace & quiet, but with civilization about a couple of hours away at most.

I like liquid (revlon colorstay) and powder (mac studio fix) formulations of foundation. I alternate depending on my mood and what I have in store for the day. I like all fruits in fruit salad! I generally only contour my face when I wear the revlon foundation because it’s more full coverage so I have to add color back in to my face!

I was born in England, but left when I was like two years old. I am now almost 35 and have not even gone back to just visit. That is so sad. This summer I have absolutely been LOVING melons in my fruit salad. Honeydew, canteloupe, and watermelon are all so yummy.
I don’t really contour, I have high cheekbones that already define my face pretty well I think. I do highlight whenever I want a touch of sexy glow!

My go-to nude lipstick would be Dior’s Grege. It’s hydrating, and a nice, MLBB shade. When it comes to using foundation, I go for either liquid or cream. I find that powder doesn’t cover as well as I’d like and doesn’t look as natural. I’m rather partial to the great state of California, but I would love to visit New York, Oregon, and Washington. I’d love to travel all over the place, really.

My favorite foundation has always been liquid until very recently where my skin has taken a decidedly dry turn! I’ve been so used to having to use matte foundations to tamper down the oil, but now, I’ve been forced to switch to different, more moisturizing formulations. I just recently purchased MAC Mineralize compact cream foundation and I have to say, applied with a damp sponge, it is blowing my mind. I have so much control over the application and coverage, it is natural looking, and moisturizing. I think cream foundations just might be my new dry skin favorite. So many more to try yet though… I’ll be combing through your reviews Karen! I’ve got Nars and Laura Mercier on my radar next!
