I hope you did something fun last night. We did end up seeing that movie, A Most Violent Year, and boy! — it makes New York look pretty rough in the ’70s and ’80s. Good movie. Jessica Chastain rocks.
In other news, are you ready for the Super Bowl tomorrow?? El Hub is handling our meal plan, which he’s EXTREMELY excited about, involving something he calls “a burger dog.”
I don’t know if anyone else calls them that, but it’s basically — and his eyes light up when he describes it — a hamburger in the shape of a hot dog, served on a hot dog bun.
I’m like, OK…but mine will be a veggie burger dog. 🙂 And we’ll have it with potato salad and chips.
Super Bowl! Katy Perry is doing the halftime show (along with Missy Elliott!), so that should be fun. Your nephew cat is also excited. From what I understand, he’s rooting for the Mill Valley Wildcats… Stay tuned for his pre-game analysis tomorrow.

Hi Karen! Happy Saturday! I’m totally excited about the game tomorrow too, but I will be watching with my dog, cat, and kitten, so nothing special on the menu. Hubby is working out of town, but will be home Mon night YAY :). He was actually in Scottsdale/Phoenix setting up for his vendor at the Super Bowl last week! I recently bought a pair of Prana Vivi yoga pants and I love the fit of them, I can’t stop wearing them. They have different lengths in this pant so I was able to get a short length and didn’t need to hem them, perfect!

Wish I had all the time that I used to, but with a house full of people and animals, and a full-time job that starts at 7 am..it’s tough to find the time!

During the week, my makeup takes less than 5 minutes. Lotion, blush, undereye concealer if I need it, eyeshadow primer, shadow, mascara. Sometimes eyeliner if I want to feel pretty.

I love my summer weight silk duvet but stopped using it bc of the cats and furballs (seriously, it has to be dry cleaned every time).
My make up routine is fast, lots of products, but fast. I am up and out the door to work with coffee & breakfast in about 25 minutes most days. I plan ahead and get everything ready 😉 I hate mornings.
That being said, sunrise is about during my commute this time of year and is pink and orange against the snow, so I love it more in winter – especially when there is hoar frost on the trees. Nature’s way of making us stay here I guess.

It takes me about 30 mins a day to put on skincare and makeup in the morning so 350 mins total. I live in the tropics, no fireplace or woodstove in our house and I don’t feel attached to any blanket because they’re sort of just there. I’m not a fan of both fruits and vegetables, but I force myself to eat them everyday. Sunrises are better because they’re the start of a brand new day! I hate all kinds of pants. I’m all about the skirts and dresses.
Hm…. if I’m going out and want to do something fancy it can take me up to 25 minutes to put my makeup on!!! If it’s just school or work, I can get away with 5 minutes for a super quick and easy bb cream, single shade eyeshadow, and lip gloss
It only takes me between 5 to 7 minutes to do my makeup on a daily basis; I moisturize as soon as I step out of the shower & then smooth on some BB, do my eyes then my powders & brush on my mascara very last thing. It’s a trick I learned when doing makeup for actors so that the mascara stays nice & black. On days when I use liquid eyeliner rather a pencil, it does take me a little longer!

Sunrises are refreshing but sunsets are captivating.We don’t have a fireplace but we had stoves before I could say somehow similar to a wood stove or a mini version of it. I’m from a tropical region, island to be exact although there are parts of the Philippines that have cold temperature particularly up north. Baguio,the country’s summer capital, has fireplaces.

I love sunsets but there is something extra special about sunrise… maybe its the fact I have to be awake to see it!
It depends on the occasion or how much time I have to spend to put on my makeup. On just an average day, I’d say about 20 minutes or so. That’s just quick foundation, lite touch-up concealer, powder, quick eyeshadow, liner and mascara. If I have extra time or wanna look extra hot for my honey, it takes about 45 minutes to an hour! That includes contouring, blush & bronzer, smokey eyes, lashes, highlighting, the whole works! I always get compliments when I put in the extra work though. People look at me and can’t figure out quite what is different lol. I just don’t have the patience to do it everyday, nor do I think it’s necessary since I’m a stay at home mom.

Best blanket? My Son gave me a Pink and White Blanket for a gift two years ago, it is so soft and very lovely. Even my parrot loves to snuggle on this blanket..LOL

I bought a pair of snow pants yesterday! I live in California and it never snows, but it still gets down to the 30’s some nights and I’m tired of freezing when I need to be outdoors at times. This is kind of cheating, but I have a pair of skirted workout pants that I love. The first time I wore them, a friend said I looked like a roller derby queen. It made me laugh so hard that I can’t put them on without smiling.
I live in Norway so we have 2 woodstoves at home. And at our cabin, were we live 4 months in the summer, we have a fireplace. This fireplace i about 100 years old and it is so wonderfull to sit in front of it when autum comes, with a big cup og tea and a book. We dont have electricity at our cabin so we only use candels to light up the Place. Its so underrated!
I had all kinds of fun yesterday! I had my nieces for the weekend, we went to Carrabba’s for lunch to celebrate my dad being tobacco-free for a year, and then we went on a pilgrammage to Sephora, where I encouraged (forced) my mom to spend $130 on a makeup makeover. And I got my b-day gift at Sephora. (2 NARS lip pencils)

We do have a fireplace, but we’ve only used it a few times over the past 21 years. For some reason, it bothers my respiratory system when we use it. Bummer, because it looks so pretty!!
When I have ample time or if I have plans to go somewhere special I like to take my time doing my makeup so I can get it perfect. During the week when I’m running around & too busy to get all fancy I opt for BB cream, under eye concealer, blush, bronzer, brows (they’re thick but shaped very nicely so I fill them in lightly or just use a tinted brow gel), lipstick/lip gloss & mascara.
My absolute FAVORITE pants outside of jeans is my black skinny pants I bought from Old Navy!

My grandmothers house was cool. Had a big fireplace centralized in the middle of four different rooms. Was the coolest thing ever!

I have a fireplace…which always seems like such a big deal when I am looking for a place to live.
However….I have yet to use it.
Fruit! Pineapples are my favorite and you can never go wrong when it comes to adding them to other sweet treats. Add them to Vanilla ice cream and it instantly adds a kick!
It use to take me 20-30 minutes to do my makeup if I wasn’t rushed and took my time. But I am not working outside the home any more therefore I don’t wear makeup everyday and haven’t noticed how long it takes me. On my rushed days I could do it in 10-15 minutes.
Pajama pants or terry-cloth pants are my favorites when I’m not wearing jeans.

I try to get ready within 45 minutes during the week but it usually goes to an hour especially if I decide to do a winged liner and maybe 1 hour and a half if I can’t get my liner to match so I take it off and reapply 🙂

Best blanket – my tiger blanket. Well, it was my hubby’s before I hijacked it – he got it when he was stationed in Korea before we got together, but he never uses it. It’s SO heavy.. It’s huge, made of really soft material.. probably about 5 lbs. in weight I’d guess, and I sleep with it every night! He’s always hot and I’m always cold so we don’t sleep under the same blanket haha. Weird, I know.
I especially love summer fruits….peaches…apricots…plums…strawberries…watermelon…YUM!
Makeup usually takes me somewhat long to do, depending on how meticulous I am, even though I usually don’t do much… maybe like 20-30 minutes depending on the day.
