Purr usual for me when we meet like this, I’m a sleepy sheepy. I may have mentioned this before, but, as much as I’d like to be, I am not a morning person. My wheels don’t start turning until 10 a.m. or so, depending on how much caffeine I’ve had… Before 10, I just fake it till I make it.
Do anything fun last night? I finally finished watching Breaking Bad (well, through the fifth season) on Netflix. I think there’s still one season left, but it’s not on Netflix yet. I’m fine waiting, though, because, truth be told, I’m a little burnt out on the show. I need a break from Breaking Bad. It only took 50-something episodes in two months, LOL.
Your nephew is…actually, I have no idea where he is right now. He was very naughty last night. He kept grumbling and scratching at the carpet on the stairs, which he’s already pretty much torn to shreds. He gets very fussy and misbehaves when anything interferes with his routines.
He has very strict routines, you see, like, he needs at least 10-15 minutes of high-intensity lurvies first thing every morning and last thing every night. If for any reason he doesn’t get one or the other, he acts out, like by clawing at the stairs in the middle of the night. It’s his way of throwing a temper tantrum.
“Where’s my lurvies, dammit?! Woman, I need my lurvies! Heads are gonna roll, b*tches! You will pay for this insolence!!”
Haha! Seriously, that’s how it is. He turns into a very fussy tabby.

Saw a new sweatshirt at Mango today that says “Miau Cat’s on Fire” but I didn’t buy it because I was trying to stick to my budget (new year’s resolution). I regret not buying it! I swear, I can hear Alicia Keys singing “This cat is on fiiirrree… This cat is on fiiiirrrreeee” right after I walked out the store!!!
My favorite Disney ride is Splash Mountain. I convinced my husband that the best honeymoon spot would be Disney World but of course when we got there Splash Mountain was being repaired 🙁

My last beauty purchase hasn’t arrived (nail polish and cuticle balm from Zoya) and the one before that was cancelled by Hautelook without notifying me (boo!) so I will have to go with the one before that: face oil from Afterlier. Mandy’s face oils work well and smell AMAZEBALLS. Kind of pricey, but I think they are worth it.

Last beauty purchase was last night… and then again when I got home online… (don’t judge!). I picked up a sampler pack of Shu Uemura facewash oils, MUFE cream eye shadow in a beautiful rose shimmer (#16) (this was the consolation prize for not getting the whole Naked 3 palate). When I got home I also got one of the new Dior lippies from the Trianon collection and a lip balm from Jack Black.

Most hats don’t suit me so it always takes a long time for me to find a good hat. This winter I was lucky to find a hat that was both cute and looked good on me. Overall hats are not my favorite accessory. I have a slight obsession with scarves.
The only hat that I can pull off is a cowboy hat. Anything else makes me look like a chipmunk! I don’t often make my way to any rodeos or desert saloons, so I mostly stay away from hats in general.
I crochet! I haven’t had time to do it lately so I want to start crocheting again soon.

What was your last, best beauty purchase? The Josie Maran Escape to Morocco Hair and Body Beautifiers set. It had travel sized versions of some great stuff, including the cleanser (which I use every day), hand creme, body butter, hair serum, the 100% argan oil, and face lotion. Super awesome deal if you ask me, full of products which work great, smell great, and directly support women in African nations. My last great buy from the drugstore was the Maybelline master duo liquid eyeliner. It’s surprisingly great- doesn’t budge or flake and has the ability to go on skinny or thick.
This week I started up my clinical rotations for the semester at the Texas Medical Center. It was exciting and nerve-wrecking at the same time. One day at a time, I suppose.
I like hats a lot… and I have several really cute ones, but the days are few and far between when I feel like I can get away with it.
I don’t really knit or crochet beyond the absolute basics, but I do embroidery of all kinds.
I prefer not to wear a hat. I usually wear them to block the sun thats all
Since I have my iPhone, I don’t need a watch.

I finally just decided to go for it. And yesterday I ordered Dior Addict Extreme in Bonne Aventure which I’ve been literally dreaming about & the polish in Minuit.. When I receive them all, it’ll be like Christmas again 🙂

The Most Exciting thing I did this week is finally find the Maybelline Dream Powder at a local Walmart, but nonetheless in my color which is very exciting because Its a very talked about powder on social media and I LOVE the very finely milled powder texture, feels very high-end for a budget product.

How do you feel about hats? – I like hats but they dont like me…I have really curly hair so unless I straighten it I look like a frizzball if I wear a hat and have to take it off for any reason. I make 2 exceptions…sporting events and fishing. 🙂
Do you knit or crochet? – my grandma taught me how to do some basic crochet but she is far better at it than I could ever hope to be. She made a few of my baby outfits and an adorable jacket for me when I was little!

AHH I recently found out that the amount of time you leave your conditioner on your hair for doesn’t really matter! It was life changing, so I switched to coconut oil as a leave on conditioner and I am exciteeeee, plus I love coconut scent.

I got it from boots in the UK over the christmas holidays and it’s just excellent! i have open pores and acne scars but it really did help “resurface” my skin. wish i’d stocked up cos i like in kuala lumpur and we dont have it. i’m getting married in june and i’m worried i’ll run out by then lol! if anyone can get their hands on it, you should try it. thanks karen for being the friendliest of all neighbourhood beauty addicts and opening this contest internationally! muah muah muah!

For the hubs birthday last year, we finally visited Cars Land in Disney’s California Adventure. We LOVED it. We sat there all day just people watching and relaxing.

Recent beauty purchase- Tony Moly CC cream, the sales associate fitted me to the lighter of two shades and the interesting thing about the cc cream is that it starts off as white and then adjusts to your skin tone. I tan easily and also de-tan (is there such a word) easily so it really helps to not buy multiple shades of the same product. I live in asia (hence tony moly is accessible to me) and have acne prone skin, korean brands really do suit me ^^ say hi to Tabs!

My latest and best beauty purchase was The Balm’s newest highlighter, the Cindy-Lou Highlighter! I recently purchased them online, and they arrived already! I absolutely LOVEEEE it!! Best highlighter! Then I also purchased the new NYX butter lipstick! My favorite color from all the butter lipsticks I bought was the color ‘Fizzies’!

The beauty product I’m wanting at the moment is a chemical exfoliator. I have super dry, flaky skin which has a tendency to get clogged but I find physical exfoliators too harsh. Hoping a chemical one might help but it’s so hard to find what would be the most whilst not being crazy expensive.

I love your blog and have been coveting soo much make up since I started reading your blog! Being from Canada, my Holt Renfrew doesn’t carry Tom Ford make up so my first activity when we arrived in Tampa over our holidays was to go to Neiman Marcus! O.M.G is all I could say! My intention was to only test them out and purchase 1 or 2 Tom Ford Private Blend lipsticks but they had the beautiful box for 12 that was empty and said I could select any 12!!! I had seen pics of the pre-made box of 12 online and had drooled over it but I lost all my will power when they said that!
I was there for 3 hours (with my BF patiently waiting and going to buy us and all of the sales associates Starbucks) testing and selecting the colours I wanted! The SAs were soo helpful and patient with me! Apparently, I’m the first to purchase a set of 12 from Neiman’s. LOL
I selected:
Sable Smoke, Spanish Pink, Pink Dusk, Indian Rose, Casabanca, Flamingo, Violet Fatale, True Coral, Wild Ginger, Cherry Lush, Crimson Noir, Bruised Plum!
These are now my favourite lipsticks! Didn’t get any of the Tom Ford lip shines but they were pretty darn nice too!

The most exciting thing I did this week was… Uhm.. Is it embarassing to choose that really spooky Doctor Who episode I just watched? When it comes to Disneyland I’ve never been there, but I assume I would be all over the dressed up character trying to hug them (I hugged Moomin once, omg he was soft!!), and I wear a watch when I remember it – which means about once a month. My beautiful MBMJ deserves better, though.
Oh, and hats? Love them on others, feel a bit goofy with them myself, and I am a terrible knitter, but actually managed to make my boyfriend mittens for our first christmas together – we were 16. Guess who impressed his mother!

Best beauty find recently was at Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual, their pro makeup is really wonderful in case you haven’t tried it and I always am excited to pick some up at the sale 🙂 They had great lipglosses this time, for $2.25!!

My most recent beauty purchase was Murad cleansing oil, a primer, and some BB cream from Sephora. I went in looking for a foundation/BB cream, but the sales associate who helped me was very persuasive (and brought up some good points regarding my skincare routine).

Last best beauty purchase was going back to Revlon’s Whipped Cream Foundation. I tried Laura Mercier’s Silk Creme Foundation and my skin absolutely hated it. I gave it a good two weeks before giving up entirely, but it slid off and made me break out. And here I thought I needed a more moisturizing foundation. Guess not!
I can do some basic crocheting. I actually had a club a few years back with my middle school students to teach them the basics too. They loved it!

Tabs is SO cute! And I can’t believe you get him to actually walk in a harness. My cat would just drag the ground trying to pull off the harness. I will have to try it on my new boys and see if they’ll go for it. Thanks for the entertaining videos of Tabs and the giveaway!

The item that I'm most excited about is the Tsubaki oil! It has transformed my skin! It makes my skin feel silky smooth and baby soft. I love it!
The most exciting thing I did this week was take my first roadtrip with my boyfriend to Philly!

The most exciting thing I did this past week was turn another year older on Friday. I made coconut cupcakes with coconut cream cheese frosting, yum! I’m the only coconut lover in my household but my husband and son have been helping me devour them.

My most recent beauty purchase was the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. I actually really enjoy that it is a lightweight foundation and that it still covers everything that I need it to.

The last best beauty purchase I made was a NYX Buttergloss at Target in cream vanilla pie, I also purchased my first Beauty Blender from Cherry Culture and I am sooooo impressed.
I wear a watch every day! Only take it off to shower, actually. True, I also have my phone and I’m just as likely to check it for the time, but “clock bracelets” aren’t obsolete yet!
I tried the new Tarte CC primer at Sephora and I am in love! The green and purple wedges are genius and the whole thing is very innovative. I’m hoping I can win this giveaway to get the primer +more! 🙂

Funny cause I just got back from Disneyland. I’ve always loved Indiana Jones, but it was my first time going to the new Cars land, and the Cars ride has to be my new favorite.
The most exciting thing I did this week was go to IMATS (the International Make-Artist Trade Show) in Pasadena, California. This was my third time going to the show. I always have so much fun shopping for makeup products at a discount, seeing my favorite YouTube makeup gurus and my favorite makeup vendors, and taking pictures. I can’t wait to go next year.
