“Here she comes!” barked the bottle of Burberry Summer. “Hurry! Everyone, to your places.”
“What places, you fool?” replied the bottle of Chanel No. 5. “We never move unless she moves us. We have no legs.”
“You know what I mean!” responded Burberry Summer angrily, the frustration clear in her voice. “Always the diva!”
The girl turned the corner into the alcove with a big smile on her face. She was humming a happy tune, and it filled the bottles of perfume with joy. She was their queen, and she was here to pick one of them for the day, which was a very special honor for a perfume.
The bottles all stood at attention on the counter, backs straight, intent on making a good impression. Sunlight filtered in through the window, and the bottles all hoped it would reflect nicely on them.
“La, la-la-la-la la,” hummed the girl as she perused. “Hmm…” Her hand hovered over the bottle of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for a moment. She often picked the bottle of Light Blue.
“No,” she said, moving on, “not today. I think I’m in the mood for something else.”
Light Blue’s disappointment was almost palpable.
Then the girl noticed the bottle of Coco Mademoiselle and stopped. “Yes!” she exclaimed, plucking the bottle from the counter. “There you are, my dear!”
And like that, the girl was gone, humming, twirling and spritzing out of the alcove and down the hallway, until the rejected bottles could no longer hear her voice.
A quiet sadness fell upon the group. They were crushed. Not today, they all thought. Oh, well.
Eventually, one of them spoke. “It’s, OK,” said the bottle of Daisy Eau So Fresh. “There’s always tomorrow.”
Good morning, my friend! Did you do anything fun last night? For me, it was dinner and a movie. We finally went to see that science fiction movie with Tom Cruise, Edge of Tomorrow.
Not bad at all. Interesting premise, with the whole Groundhog Day time travel (his character repeats the same day in an alien invasion over and over). I like self-contained science fiction stories that aren’t based on big franchises (I’m looking at you, Transformers!).
I just plan to take it easy this weekend. I might drive out to my parents’ house for a few hours tomorrow, and then I have some chores and errands to run (bluh), but that’s about it.

I think the most overrated product out right now are the BB and CC creams, especially the ones in the U.S. I read that if you’re going to purchase those, that you should consider buying the ones from Korea or Japan.
Since the Netherlands is so small, it’s not really ‘special’ to me to go on vacation within the country. Everything is just a few hours (3h max) away by car. If I wanna see something, I’ll just grab the car or go by train to see it. 🙂 And there aren’t any huge differences in landscape, it’s not like the US, France or even Germany.
Right now I’d really like some chocolate cake 🙂

Well, I’ve been a bit of an over achiever this year, losing 60 pounds and joining a band. Other than things being financially tight for us at the moment,(that’s about to change hopefully, with my husband’s graduation) the thing that’s always on my mind is my mom. She had a stroke a couple years ago, and to say it’s been hard would be an understatement. So, what I really want is to be in a position to have her, my dad, and My husband’s aging mother in some kind of housing situation on our property. It really can’t happen soon enough.
I absolutely love the smell of fresh cut grass, hot coffee and the air in summer right before a rainstorm. If I could capture all three at once that would be incredible.

To all you season girls Happy First Day of Summer. For us here in Venezuela is Summer almost year round. Regarding the giveaway I must say my absolute favorite scent has got to be Dolce & Gabanna The One in all of its presentations, I have used the original, the eau and the rose and they suit me fantastically. Another scent must be Dior’s Adore eau de parfum and last but not at all least is The Body Shop’s Moringa line. I thinks nars Laguna is overrated
i rarely wear makeup in the summer time. i keep it light with a light pink or champagne cream eyeshadow, a thin line black liquid liner and some waterproof mascara. i love the look of summer makeup on others but (being a ginger) im always pale so the bronzed look doesnt look natural on me. i like the fresh-faced look for summer.

The most over rated product from the drug store in y opinion is the Physicians Formula eye liner serum pen. Everyone raves about it and I just don’t see why? I’ve purchased it two times trying to like it thinking maybe I got a dud but no, its not even black its like a dark grey or charcoal and lind of streaky. No thanks, Ill stick with my Milani felt tip eye liner pen its cheaper and way black.
As far as visiting somewhere in my own country, California would be amazing to experience! As for anywhere else in the world, I’ve always wanted to visit Amsterdam.

I’m just relaxing after seeing the Backstreet Boys yesterday.
I have never been to the arctic or antarctic, but I did meet a guy who grew up in Siberia when I was studying abroad in France! He was really nice!
I’ve always wanted to visit Seattle.
Favorite scents… there is that summer morning, somewhere near the beach smell that is faint salt and coconut (fake or real)… and the warm holiday kitchen smell… and Flowerbomb. All wonderul for their own reasons!
My scents: Givenchy Hot Couture, Belara and Betsy Johnson. Scents I enjoy are puppy breath, my boyfriends cologne, grilled meats, fresh baked bread and rain soaked earth. I am moving and have not decided on a new place to stay yet. So I do not know where I will be in five years. The closest I have been to the Arctic is Southwest Alaska on the tundra and the Kuskokwim Delta. The Cup’ik prepare wonderful dried smoked salmon. I would love to vacation in Hawaii.

I love the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume, I have the Hot Pink Edition and it’s the only perfume my boyfriend likes on me. He has a sensitive nose and he can’t stand the scent and potency of many perfumes/colognes.

My favorite scent (and my first scent ever) is escada sunset heat! I love the juicy smell of the lychee and whatever fruity goodness its mixed with!!
It’s funny because I was just exploring perfumes recently, but I must say my go-to scent is Chloé, it’s very soapy and fresh for the spring and summer. I love the smell of lavender, it keeps me calm when I’m going through tough times. I also love the smell of pine trees and evergreens. It reminds me of when I used to go hiking in the summertime, and the piney christmas-y scent was a relief in the hot weather.
The Chloe rose perfume is amazing.
For the first time in what seems like MONTHS, I stepped foot in a Sephora today. It was like visiting the mother ship.
Today was my husband’s birthday, so *someone* is in good company!

I’m from Belgium, which is quite a small country so the vacation options aren’t that numerous, but I’ve vacationed in Bruges before which I liked. I also really love where I live, so I can also definitely recommend Ghent. 🙂

I think the barrage of eye creams to erase crows feet is a big scam. I’m 50 I know you can’t see my picture but I limit sun exposure and I always wear a good primer with SPF 35 and up and never leave the house without my sunglasses.

When I was younger (teens) I liked sweet and fruity scents. Now that I am in my early 30’s I like fresh/clean and floral scents… which means the only thing left for me to like when I’m a “vieja” is the typical old lady powdery scent! LOL =)

I love the ocean, roasting marshmallows and wood smoke.
Perfume wise, I like Britney Spears’ “Fantasy” (yeah, yeah, I know, lol).
My favorite perfumes are Reminiscence by Reminiscence, Les Nuits d’Hadrian by Annick Goutal, and Pamplelune by Guerlain! I generally like scents that involve citrus, patchouli, or musk.
What do you really want? – More than anything in life, I want to be able to travel to Europe to discover and see everything my little heart desires 🙂

Favorite scents? Verbena is fresh and delightful. I adore the smell of rosemary, but it always makes me crave rosemary focaccia. Most of all, I love the smell of an ocean breeze (fresh and exhilarating). Hmm…time for a beach getaway!
