Only one long training run left before the half marathon next week! I think I finally got the chafing under control, thanks to the CW-X Running Bra and good old-fashioned Vaseline, and I’m going to try out the neat-looking Roo Sport Fitness Pouch, a small belt-less pouch with a magnetic fastener for carrying your cell phone, ID, credit card and, in my case, two Tri Berry GU Energy Gels, today on the treadmill.
But first! — Gilmore Girls and giveaways. 🙂
I am so hooked on that show it’s ridiculous. I don’t want to go anywhere or do anything else. I just want to sit on the couch watching Gilmore Girls and fantasize about living in the town of Stars Hollow. I could have breakfast and coffee at Luke’s Diner and then go shop for makeup at Stars Hollow Beauty Supply, LOL!
See, I told you. Ridiculous.
Well, that’s it for me. Good luck in this weekend’s giveaway, and hopefully I see you in the comments or on Twitter and Instagram today. Have a great caturday, my friend! Good luck!

My fictional towns: The first one Halloween Town ( the nightmare before christmas , and Gotham city ( batman),
Yes I have painted a room myself I learned to do it myself so don’t need to ask for favors
Best indie make up Detrivore.
I wont be dressing cause here op thee Island they don’t do parties and stuff But if I could It would be Harley Quinn(batman), or evil lady sexy clown, or poison Ivy (batman.
when I was studying in Europa I Have dressed as Ice queen, a bat, and also a black cat.
But to be honest I love this stuff If i had another kind of costumed party I would choose the same kind of stuff,
Wish someday I can when one those cards of sephora
Dillon, TX! Friday Night Lights, baby!
I am sure you will do great doing the half marathon! My foot is still recovering (I feel like it’s getting worse actually) so no running for me and I really miss it…
I have a fall family party today, farm themed so I am just going to wear blue jeans, a flannel plaid shirt etc. (to answer your question about Halloween costume.
Happy weekend!
Are you going to dress up this year for Halloween? Do you have your costume figured out? – I don’t wear costumes for Halloween but I love doing gory fx makeup. I haven’t nailed down exactly what I am doing yet. Maybe the Chelsea/Joker/Glasgow Smile.
What is your most favorite make up look, along with favorite make up item that you can’t live without?
p.s good luck in your half marathon xx
Never slept on a waterbed – imagine it would give me motion sickness! LOL!
Kakariko Village from Legend of Zelda!
And I don’t really dress up for Holloween.. but if I did.. I’d wanna dress up as lady batman or lady spiderman or something fun like that.
WATERBED for the friggin’ WIN! 😀
My hubby & I have a waterbed & it is the best night’s sleep I’ve ever had…every night! Even if we want to sit up & watch movies, it’s the most comfortable seat in the house! It’s a pain to make, but I love it!
Waterbeds are just too weird!
I used to paint sets when I was in high school in college, so I guess I have painted furniture and rooms (even though the rooms might not have had four full walls :).
I am gonna make daughter a white tutu and have her dress up as frosty the snowman, and make a little black glittery top hat too!
Wish i had pet a penguin! In my wait to win this Sephora card, I gave in and already got the Vice 3 and Hourglass ambient blush palettes 😛 Still a lot left on my list 😀
I have painted the entire interior of my current house, my kitchen table, and my bookshelves. I have painted all the hardware (door handles, light fixtures). I have tiled bathroom floors and refinished wood floors and furniture. I have installed new sinks and showers and light fixtures.
… I have painted a lot of things.
Best indie brand – Shiro Cosmetics!
I want to try that running bra! That brand came out with some running pants with stars on them a while back, and I wanted them so bad but they were WAY too expensive!
This year for Halloween I’m planning on going as a deer. There’s a ton of online tutorials for deer makeup. My boyfriend might go as a hunter so we match lol.
Kings Landing would be one of my picks, but there are a lot of them. Stars Hollow, Bontemps,… And above them all there is Hogsmead! 🙂
Hi ! I’ve never sleep on a waterbed, seems weird !
And YES I have already painted a room by myself.
Thanks for this great giveaway 😉
No dressing up for Halloween, its our 8th anniversary so will be going out for a nice meal and then watching something suitable spooky to snuggle to!
My favorite fictional town would have to be Diagon Alley from Harry Potter!
Ive slept on a waterbed at my friends house when I was like 10, weirdest night I’ve ever had. Since I live in Denmark we dont really celebrate halloween, so no dressing up or pumpkin carving for me! 🙂
I’ve had a Very Boring week!
Thank God for the weekend and this blog!
I have never had a pet penguin but i would like one 😉
i don’t think it counts as a town technically, but Hogwarts. Definitely, hands down, Hogwarts.
Also, I’m quite excited for Halloween, but I’m not sure if I’ll dress up. I’d like to go as a circus performer (thanks to the season of AHS) or perhaps Jayne from Firefly. Mostly I just want candy.
I had a waterbed in junior high, what was I thinking?!
I’ve always loved Nancy Drew =)
When I was younger, I painted three separate murals on my bedroom walls.
I don’t know if it is still considered indie but I really love Becca products!
I’ve already painted allllllll my house – well, indoors!
A lot of fun, stress, and hair/clothes painted as well……. hahaha!
I love Bluebell from Hart of Dixie 😀
My favorite fictional town is Stars Hollow! 🙂
I have never had an opportunity to pet a penguin =/
I’ve never slept on a waterbed before but I have sat on one when I was a kid in the ’90s. I don’t know anyone who sells them anymore. I heard they were dangerous and didn’t provide much support for your back, but it was interesting to try out.
I painted my bedroom, my office/makeup room, and my hallway. Several pieces of furniture as well!
Slept in a waterbed….never petted a penguin!
Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself?: Yes. We found two really cute wooden chairs on the side of the road. They had to be reinforced, painted, & reupholstered, but they turned out absoulutely perfect for the breakfast nook.
My favorite fictional town in a show is Beacon Hills from Teen Wolf!
I have painted every room in my entire house, including the ceilings!! I find it very therapeutic, once the taping and cutting in is done. When I do decide to paint I make sure my kids are either out or all set for a few hours. There’s nothing more aggravating than having to stop In the middle of painting to cater to someone!! When I finish ( I hate to clean up afterwards) I love to look at how different and nice the room looks once the paint dries. The best part is If you hate the way it looks there are so many different things you can do to fix it, after all it’s just paint!!
I have painted stuff before- my bedroom. It was during the ‘friends’ era and its a bright purple like monica and rachel’s apartment. I am ready for something more soothing now, so I will be painting it again real soon!
No, I don’t dress up for Halloween but my youngest 3 kids do. If their costumes arrive (i ordered online) in time, they will be a tiger, a bumblebee transformer and a skeleton. fingers crossed they arrive on time, cause i can’t afford to buy new ones 🙂
My favorite fictional town has to be the Shire, I love how everything looks so green and fresh!
I am going to be wayne from Wayne’s world lol
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Gilmore Girls!! I LOVE that show!
Are you re-watching or are you a first time watcher?
Also, Stars Hollow would probably be my choice. Miss Patty & Bernadette, Luke’s Dinner, Mrs. Kim’s Store, Sookie(!), The Dragonfly Inn, Kirk,… And then the TOWN MEETINGS! Girl, I love that (fictional) town.
I tried a waterbed a long time ago and did not like it.
Never slept on a waterbed
For Halloween, I plan to dress up as a peacock or as Dorothy from Wizard of Oz. I’ve never petted a penguin before but I’ve seen a picture of Hilary Duff petting a penguin at a zoo.
I have painted my house in the Kitchen and living room. I also helped sand and paint the outside of my house! I touched up the paint on the outside of the house this year!!
Yep, slept on a waterbed…and it was weird.
I’ve never slept on a waterbed, but I remember playing on one at a friends house as a little girl. We went to take naps (I think I was 4 or 5) and I couldn’t fall asleep as the bed kept moving. I ended up moving to the floor. Interesting idea, but I prefer my bed to be stationary.
Growing up I read Babysitter’s Club book and wished for a town like Stoneybrook, CT from the book. I remember in 4th grade choosing to do my state report Connecticut just so I could learn more about Stoneybrook and found that it did not exist. As for favorite fictional TV town, it would have to be Storybrooke, Maine, I mean who wouldn’t want to meet all the fairy tale characters!
My favorite fictional town is Rosewood, PA from Pretty Little Liars! Part of the reason is because it use to be Stars Hallow once upon a time 🙂
My favorite fictional town is Storybrooke from Once Upon a Time. It looks like such a cute little town.
im excited to see dracula untold
Who knows how “indie” this make-up brand is nowadays (since I’m pretty sure everyone on youtube knows of it), but Make Up Geek for SURE!
My favorite fictional town would definitely have to be Diagon Alley from Harry Potter! It would be awesome to see all the neat magical shops and everything inside them. Who knows, maybe they have a magical beauty shop as well! 😛
Stars Hollow is definitely my favorite fictional town! I love the town square, and who wouldn’t want to eat breakfast at Luke’s? Haha
Stars Hollow!!! I’m watching Gilmore Girls right now, and I think it’d be nice (for a change) to experience a small town like Stars Hollow. 🙂
Storybrook, Maine is my favorite fictional town.
I am going to be the black widow for halloween
I think I might have to go with Tree Hill!
recently i just painted this walk hook.. it was a bunch or pink elephants that i thought were cute years ago, because i love elephants . but now i think is childish…so i pianted them black.
Old Town in Sin City!! (It’s part of a town anyway..) Seams like anything could happen there 😉
Hi Karen! Happy Saturday!
I am dressing up for halloween this year. We are going to a masquerade costume party! I am going to do old school comic strip makeup a la Rauschenberg 🙂 I hope it comes out well! Hugs to tabs for me <3 xo AF
I would like to give a shout-out for two overlooked eyeshadow palettes, the Santigolden Age palettes from Smashbox, Apocalypse Now and Earth As We Know It. I’m shocked that these are now on sale for half price at Sephora instead of being collector’s items going for twice their original price on EBay. They didn’t seem to get much attention in the blogoshpere beyond repeating the press release about them. The colors are beautiful and arranged in striking, original concepts. The quality of the shadows is intensely pigmented and creamy. The matte black and navy blue are super-intense, really high quality. The greens and silvers are beyond gorgeous. I’m pretty fair-skinned, but these seem like the rare kind of palette that would also work really well on deep complexions. The only flaw is some glitter fall-out from the more glittery shades. If you prefer some color over the current crop of mostly neutral holiday palettes, these are an alternative (or a complimentary addition) to UD’s Vice 3 and an absolute steal at $18 each.
about 20 yrs ago I had a waterbed…it was a novelty then buy boy was it horrible! Never again!
Sunnydale and Haddonfield are my favorite fictional towns.
My parents had a waterbed for about 10 years, and I loved sleeping on it and laying on it haha
I actually painted my old wooden dresser last year in black and it came out brand new. I’m glad I decided to make it into a home project cause I love it!!
Dude! Stars Hollow, totally! So happy Netflix has Gilmore Girls now.
I’ll probably be a cat again this year.
im going as hello kitty
Never slept on a waterbed.
When I finally had my own room, I painted it in Lavender, the prettiest colour in the world (to me) together with my mum. It feels great doing something together with your family.
One fact of mine, I really really love the Korean Brand, Laneige! It is the best brand that I had ever used. I had almost every single products of theirs, from skin care to makeups. They had never failed me and their skin care had even cured my acne. I love it! One day I wish I could own all of their products!
Yes, i slept on waterbad when I was on internship 😀
My favorite fictional town has to be Mystic Falls from The Vampire Diaries! I am so addicted !!!! Xx
Best fictional town is Hogsmeade from the Harry Potter series, hands down!
I’m thinking about dressing up as Cleopatra. I am excited because I am going to the NY nerd fest known as Comic Con and I’m dressing up as my favorite character from the TV show Supernatural.
I’ve painted the whole inside of my house by myself-here’s to wishing I married a painter.
my favorite fictional town is Springfield. I would hang out with Homer Simpson everyday just for last.delete
my speech to text isn’t working. Lol
No dress up for me; i will just be giving candy out to the kiddies
Now I feel inspired to pet a penguin!
I use to have a water bed a long time ago. It was so comfortable but alot of work when it came to draining the water then filling it back up.
Helloween is going to be Steampunk themed this year ;)) Cannot wait!
Don’t like waterbeds, feel like I’m sinking! lol
My favorite fictional town is south park.
I just so love the series <3
Have been watching the old episodes like a billion times 🙂
A great underrated artist is Yuna. She’s lovely!
My husband and I are dressing up this year, we’re going as Chucky and Bride of Chucky!
I would want to live in Sunnydale from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I suppose I better be a vampire or a witch or something!
Good choice, Susan! 🙂 I forgot about Sunnydale. Loved Buffy (and Angel).
I have pet a penguin! It was at a Brew at the Zoo event and they had random animals out walking around – including a penguin and a sloth!!
going to be groot and rocket with my bf
When I read indie or up-and-coming brand I thought it said band. I could write a whole essay on up-and-coming bands!
San Francisco since I saw Charmed. Or Storybrooke from Once upon a time.
Cedar Cove is my fav fictional town. I’d love to move there. Thx for the chance
For Halloween, it depends on who i’m going with:
if i’m going with a bunch of kids then i’m going to be a mouse..duh.
if not, i want to be something scary like a bug bwaha.
I plan to dress up as Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas this year.
I think my favorite indie brand has to be Shiro Cosmetics – they’re always coming out with great new stuff, including a line of lip tints based on Studio Ghibli films ( * 0*). Plus the customer service is awesome, the owner is a total sweetheart.
So cute!
Love the changes being made at my fave indie company, ILNP. So excited for the new collection as well. That waterbed question brought back memories. Yes, I have slept on one. LOL! My uncle had one in every bedroom of his house, so when we went to visit a few times a year that is what we slept on.
I wish I was as photogenic as Tabs. I’d always take selfies lol
I have slept on a waterbed! They were pretty popular in the 80s. Nice and warm in the water, as I recall. Do they even make them anymore?
I’ve slept on a waterbed… And I didn’t make it through the night. I got seasick. I’m one of those people that moves around a lot in my sleep, so the constant jiggling and swooshing got to me and my famously easily-seasick stomach.
My husband is going to dress like an escaped convict and I’m going to be his arresting officer…I love Halloween! So excited 🙂
Waterbeds sounds so cool but they are the most uncomfortable thing that I have ever slept on. My back felt like it was going to break in half after taking a nap in one and I was a teenager at the time (definitely too young to be complaining about back pains). 🙁
Windurst from Final Fantasy 11! =^.^=
I want to live in Eureka! SyFy,s innovative town.
The one and only time I slept on a waterbed, it undulated SO much it threw me out of the bed onto the floor and I just stayed there the rest of the night.
I’ve never pet a penguin but i’d like to!! 🙂
My husband and I painted our bedroom.
Never pet a penguin – would they feel slippery I wonder?
I love this pic of you below your race bib “I see you!” you are beautiful, Karen! love all of your reviews, tips, pics of tabs, of course & makeup pics.
Yes, I always paint my own walls, outside of house, furniture and anything else I want painted (except the car). My husband helps with the big projects. We can’t afford to pay anyone, so we had to learn.
Damn I wanted to be the girl to say I’ve pet a penguin! Not all hope is lost, though!
Ugh! I haven’t figured out my Halloween costume yet and it’s driving me crazy!
I use to sleep over my best friend’s house whenever we would go out on the weekends and she had the best waterbed ever.
yes im dressing up. i live in salem ma and we have 30 days of halloween so i can go out about a dozen times this month all dressed up. i purchased large ram horns from an etsy designer, i have long curly ruby red hair and im dressing up as a horned goddess. im going to do all my makeup in hues of green and olive and black and put roses made of fall leaves in my hair and around horns. its going to hopefully look awesome.
Last weekend, my boyfriend and I were at Disneyland to attend Mickey’s Halloween Party and we dressed up as Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head!
I have never slept on a water bed before. I’m scared it will break and water will leak all over.
Waterbeds make me seasick – I’ve never been a fan =)
On a different note, I’m so glad to have finally stumbled upon your blog. I’ve seen your photos countless times on google images, it is awesome to finally connect the product samples with a website =)
I’ve pretty much figured out my costume: Justice Ginsburg. I get to be sarcastic, smart, and awesome, and have everyone rise when I enter a room. It’s perfect.
Yes, i painted an old dresser to look new and colorful! 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway.
I owned a water bed for many years.. that’s all I slept on growing up as a kid!
My fave indie beauty brand (makeup & skincare) is Paula’s Choice.
I’ve painted (and re-painted) many, many rooms in all my different apartments.
I have never slept on a waterbed.
I’ve painted lots of furniture and rooms by myself. My hubs believes that speed is more important than neatness when it comes to painting. Drives me nuts, so I’d rather do it with no help. When we were moving out of an apartment in Honolulu we had to paint it so we could get our deposit refunded. He did the whole place in about 45 minutes….
I’ve painted my bathroom teal, along with my husband’s and father-in-law’s help.
I don’t know anything about indie makeup brands, but have discovered a lot of new indie skincare brands. Fig + Yarrow, Mullein & Sparrow, S.W. Basics, Herbivore Botanicals, and Meow Meow Tweet.
I’ve never completely painted anything before. I started on a dresser and but I got so bored I never finished it. Then years later I hauled it to the goodwill. I wonder if the goodwill gets a lot of half finished furniture because of this very reason. =)
Ha! I totally had a waterbed when I was a kid! But we also had a dalmation. No more waterbed.
coriwestphal at msn dot com
I love painting old furniture to make it look new! So fun.
I’ve stripped and painted an antique wrought iron bed, book shelves, a dresser as well as walls, an outside fence and a deck. I’m from the country – my dad would be disappointed if I couldn’t do some stuff myself. I’ve also slept on a waterbed. I don’t think i would want one now though – but maybe the technology is better. I always felt like they were hard to get out of. Good luck on the half marathon.
unfortunately I am not dressing up for halloween this year 🙁 I have to work that entire evening, perhaps I can do something. fun next-year 🙂
I have costumes set for this year, but not really anything to DO on halloween 😛
I’m not quite sure what my halloween costume is going to be this year, but I really want my husband and I to be Hagrid together one year if we ever figure out how!
I’m dressing up as the Mad Hattress
I’ve painted a room once, while it was fun, it was harder than I thought. Planning to paint my daughter’s room soon but I’ve been putting it off 🙂
I have two favourite fictional towns: one of them is Mystic Falls from The Vampire Diaries and the second is Storybrooke from Once Upon a Time (both of those are two of my favourite shows!).
And yup I have actually painted a hallway in my parents house. It went from a very dull grey to a medium toned plum-purple colour! It definitely kicked off the home renovations haha 🙂
Have I ever slept in a water bed? I can’t remember lol. If I did, I was very young, but I know I had a friend who had one and I was always so envious!!
I painted a room once. It was a LOT more work than I thought it would be, and it didn’t turn out as great as I thought it would.
Favorite fictional town:
Stars Hollow too! I’ve seen that show from start to end at least 3 times in my lifetime. I love everybody on Gilmore Girls (well, sometimes I can’t stand Dean). I’d also like to live in the land of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, if only it wasn’t a hellmouth.
I just painted my daughter’s room and did the walls in grey and then used turquoise and mustard yellow as accent colors. It looks awesome!
My favorite fictional town is Storybrook, Maine. I’ve laid in a water bed once, it was weird. I don’t like Halloween or scary movies or dressing up in a costume. I love the day after sales on candy though!!!
Stars Hollow for sure!! I totally wanna live there. I just got the box set a few weeks ago and had a Gilmore Girls marathon on Friday while my husband was at work. It was wonderful spending the day in Stars Hollow!
I definitely have slept in a waterbed. When I was pregnant (in the 80s) with my daughter–and it was bliss!
I absolutely love Halloween. I’m dressing up as a flapper girl!
I have painted a piece of furniture before – it’s not terribly fun but the end result is worth it!
I think my favorite fictional town is Cedar Cove. I haven’t ever painted a room by myself, but I have taken a piece of antique painted furniture and stripped it down to bare wood, then varnished it to bring out the natural wood. It looked much better natural than painted. No, not dressing up for Halloween, although I have a favorite orange tee shirt that I wear when I answer the door for trick or treaters. I have slept on a waterbed before, but I think it takes some getting used to. Sleeping on my sister’ waterbed just one night was not too comfortable.
I painted a wicker chair hot pink a few years ago. It was fun and simple
Dress up for Halloween? Of course!! We have a Harry Potter party every year complete with floating candles and magic wands!
Halloween is the biggest holiday at my city lady…strange I know lol but no one works, each group themes their area and competes for various titles like best theme, best costume, most original design. This year our team is going with orange is the new black and I’m gonna be crazy eyes lol
I’ve never slept on a waterbed before but would love to
My high school friend had a waterbed. We would sleep over and cram four of us in there. It was crazy. I always felt like I had been swimming all day when I woke up. Weird feeling.
I have slept on a waterbed my grandparents use to have one when I was little!
Yes, I ve had a waterbed….when I was a teenager in the late 80’s until 1990. I hated it!!
I have painted a room myself, well with my husband at least.
I do not have a pet penguin.
Usually buy many indie glazes! I love nail polish with glitter, and indie are always drives! Here in Brazil we have the EDK and Penelope Light! I want to purchase the Candy Lacquer of the USA
OMG karen i have come so close to petting a penguin. at the St. Louis zoo they have an amazing penguin habitat, and the outdoor section just has this tiny little glass barrier. only as high as your waist. and the penguins are standing right there!!!! i had to stop myself from touching one because i really didn’t want the zookeeper to get mad and kick me out hahaha. penguins are my faveeeee
I know exactly what I’m doing for Halloween this year — I found a beautiful makeup look on Instagram for a deer costume, so that’s what I’m doing!
It’s technically real, but Newport Beach from The OC has to be one of the best TV town settings. Close runner ups would be Capeside, Stars Hollow, Dillon (real too), and Everwood.
I was recently introduced to Colourpop, which has shimmery/metallic cream shadows as well as lip products. A friend of a friend works there and she offered to grab a couple of the shadows for me to try, so hopefully I’ll get them soon!
I think I’d love to live in Republic City. Go Team Avatar!
Some cars are red
Halloween is coming up so I will be celebrating it with my pet chinchillas and dress like them! They are the softest little puffballs on earth and they are amazing!
I’ve painted my own room before! It was a mess and my father had to help me repaint. 🙁 been feeling the urge to paint again though! I’ve been thinking of an all white room and a purple or tiffany blue ceiling!
I can’t wait for Halloween! I’m going to be Medusa 🙂
I slept on a waterbed for a few years and it was ok. I doubt I would ever sleep on one again
Still trying to see if anyone reads these & then how do you get a profile pic on here?
Hi Doreena,
Looks like we keep missing each other. 🙂 I answered you on last week’s giveaway (and the giveaway before that). The profile pics are what are called Gravatars, and you can get one here on gravatar.com using your email address.
I hope we bump into each other here in the comments one of these days.
YAY Thank you Karen!!
My bad too I always posted the question & then never came back to look for an answer!
Have a GREAT rest of the weekend! <3
I’ve been wanting to lay on a waterbed. I bet it feels weird
Now that you mentioned bra’s, I hate bra shopping because they never carry my size. Sport bras are the worst when it comes to sizing, they only cater to certain sizes. My size was not listed on the size chart for that particular bra that you mentioned. However I’m glad you mentioned penguins, they are one of my favorite animals and yes I did pet one!
The most I will dress up for Holloween is orange and black fingernails. My favorite faux town would probably be Storybrooke from Once Upon A Time. Love me some Capt Hook!
I moved to the US early this year and I am super excited to celebrate my first Halloween here (wow that rhymed!). I am a huge SNL fan and I want to dress up like Stefon from the show! That should be fun!
I would so like to live in Stars Hallow.
We get to go to New Orleans this year for Halloween and I’m pretty excited about that. I can’t wait!
oh my!! Gilmore Girls is my favorite show! I’m obsessed with it! I watch all seasons at least twice a year:) I would like to live in Stars Hollow:)
I”ve never slept on a waterbed, but I sure loved jumping on them!
Rory is such a great character! She’s like the muggle version of Hermione. And Paris is Draco Malfoy.
My favorite fictional town is Stars Hollow from Gilmore girls. There are so many fun characters there. I have sat and laid down on a waterbed. it’a such a weird feeling and hard to get out of. I didn’t they still made those. I thought waterbeds were a fad of past eras.
I would love to dress up as a disney princess
Never slept on a waterbed, it would be so weird !
What’s your favorite fictional town (town from a TV show, book or movie)? Right now just for its entertainment value I’ll go with Sleepy Hollow…although it’s a real town and I live right over the bridge from it.
Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself? Yes! We painted our spare room and doors when we bought our condo and we used to help my dad paint things around the house growing up.
Are you going to dress up this year for Halloween? Do you have your costume figured out? I hopefully will be off from work so I can dress up and go out! I don’t have my costume 100% set but I have some ideas.
My favourite fictonal town(s): Diagon Alley, the Hogwarts castle and Hogsmeade! ^^ Closely followed by Stars Hollow anyway.
I have slept on a water bed before and I didnt really like it. I am not dressing up for Halloween.
Not dressing up this year 🙁
Sleek cosmetics
My favorite fictional town is Mystic Falls. If there are guys like Damon or Stefan I would easy move for those guys and there’s a lot going on. I like the tension what there is. And Caroline and Elena would be great friends for me and we should have a lot of fun.
I’ve never slept on a water bed.
I do not dress up for Halloween, not sure why, but I really don’t like Halloween, and I’m always glad when it’s over and I don’t have to hear about it anymore!
I like very much Desperate Housewives
I have slept on a waterbed and actually kinda liked it!
I want too dress up as Cleopatra this Halloween.
My parents had a water bed growing up. I actually really liked it. I didn’t like the fact that every time i tossed or turned I would here water moving but it was pretty fun!
I am thinking of dressing up as Mia Wallace for Halloween…it’s easy enough and I only need a wig and the Urban Decay makeup set 😉
Ahhh, I love Tree Hill. 🙂
You’re training on a treadmill?! Ugh good for you, I really don’t think I could or would if I couldn’t run outside. I’ve been spoiled with beautiful riverside trails 🙂
The first thing Gary and I did when we bought our house was start repainting room by room. We were stone broke, so we did it ourselves. It isn’t hard, just time consuming if you do it right, and color on the walls makes SUCH a difference!
I’m not dressing up this year. I did dress up one year recently and was a witch, and it was lot of fun! 🙂 My kids are a cheetah and a dinosaur rider! 🙂
I love Gilmore Girls too! I think I could also sit for months just watching it!
The up and coming makeup brand I can’t wait for is Blackout Cosmetics by Steffanie Strazzere.
Currently due to the three day Gilmore Girls marathon I would have to say Stars Hollow.
A few friends of mine opened my makeup drawers the other day (just moved), so I was showing them around), and were shocked. A good shock I guess, but still… I only have two!!
😀
I would love to dress up for Halloween, but I feel as if I am too old to dress up in get-ups that I will wear once a year.
i’m thankful for having my family here
I love this time of year, especially when the weather cools down a bit.
I really need to come up with a great Halloween costume but I have no idea what yet!
Slept on a waterbed 28 years ago when I was pregnant. It was awesome..
The most i plan on doing today was making breakfast lol my hubby will take care of the rest 🙂
I painted my bedroom by myself – it is a beautiful light blue color that reminds me of the beach! 🙂
I have painted and wallpapered a room before, but it’s one of my least favorite things to do around the house.
When I was a kid I had a heated waterbed till it got popped by an earring:(..I kinda want one now, or at least to sleep on for a few days.now that I share a bed with another adult,a 4yr old & our cat not shure how an old school waterbed would go..probly get sea sick.
I always loved the of living somewhere other than a city, so Cicely, Alaska from Northern Exposure would be right up my quirkily small town alley!
One time during the holidays my sister and I repainted this massive wardrobe in the room we shared at the time. It was a mission but we managed to do a pretty good job!
I had a waterbed back in the day.
Sorry, no pet penguin! But I did throw the best 50th wedding anniversary party for my parents on Saturday (6 months of planning & it turned out incredible)!!!
I have never pet a penguin but I’ve been very near one at the aquarium..
I didnt paint furniture but I have painted a flower plant pot once
i wish i could pet a penguin, and while we’re at it, also a seal and a polar bear!
I’ve pet a llama, a camel and an elephant. I’ve never pet a penguin, though.
Penguins!!!
I never slept on a waterbed!
I’ve never pet a penguin though I’d love to know where you could!

I going to be a fortune teller or a witch for Halloween.I usually don’t dress up, but since my son wants me too, so it’s a family adventure to him
First, Tabs look fantastic in the pic above!
I think I don’t dress this Halloween, but I have idea of The Shadow of Lucky Luke costume. So black to toe black of his silhoutte :).
Not fond of waterbeds!
Painted a dresser once
I didn’t wear makeup until I was 40 and had to cover some unsightly aging problems. Sephora is the best I’ve found.
I am convinced that my parents’ cat thinks he’s a dog.
Gilmore Girls is the best!!!
Haha. I wish I pet a penguin but no, mam. 😛
If I could live in any fictional town it would be stars hallow from Gilmore girls, coffee at lukes every morning 🙂
Can’t say I’ve ever petted a penguin before!
el hub and I purchased our waterbed in 1974. Three heaters and two mattresses later, we’re still enjoying it. The secrets are: keep a lot of water in it and burp it regularly. 🙂
My favorite Indie brand of nail polish right now is Glitter Lambs.
Not dressing up for Halloween, just handing out candy 😀
well i actually graffitied my name on my room by my bed.. or u could say attempted to grafitti it haha but its real small
I actually had a waterbed for a couple of years! It was pretty fun but also kind of weird! I didn’t have any issues of motion sickness like one commenter feared. I would actually try to do the worm when laying down to try and create waves haha!
I can’t do waterbeds, they hurt my back. I’m a firm mattress kinda gal lol!
Omgsh, I miss watching Gilmore Girls! One of my favourite shows!
Haven’t decided about Halloween yet it’s Teo days before the NYC Marathon and I’ll be running.
I”m hooked on Supernatural right now. I was sick for two weeks and happened to catch the re-runs on TNT and the “gotta know what happens next” is just about doing me in!
My family used to have a waterbed when I was a young child, but I just remember lying on it, but never actually sleeping. I used to puncture it slightly with the metal on my sandals.
My favorite fictional town would have to be Story Brooke from Once Upon a Time!
I’m going as a rockabilly cat!
I haven’t tried that many indie brands but I’d like to.
I’m going to be Medea for Halloween. People keep thinking I mean Tyler Perry’s Madea when I tell them though.
I moved about 2 months ago, and painted for the first time. I did my bedroom walls a gray color, and it was hard work.
What’s your favorite fictional town (town from a TV show, book or movie)? Stars Hollow. No drama! Or at least… serious drama or explosions.
Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself? I have!
Are you going to dress up this year for Halloween? Do you have your costume figured out? Shadowhunter, most of the pieces are purchased.
Have you ever slept on a waterbed? Yes, my mom used to have one. It leaked.
Honestly, have you ever pet a penguin (I’d be surprised if anyone says yes to this!)? Ha! That would be interesting!
I loved the town of Stars Hollow too!!
found out today that my Halloween plans are changing… and I can now go out with friends. Now I have to figure out a cheap/not sexy costume.
I have painted a room by myself in the past. Currently watching past seasons of Supernatural to catch up to the current season 10!
Boop
Wanna comment on how much I enjoy your posts and how much I envy that you have all those goodies readily available to you. Keep those funny reviews coming! I definitely look forward to each one and I do read them all! Hugs!
Never painted a room but would like to try!
What’s your favorite fictional town (town from a TV show, book or movie)?
Twin Peaks! Heard they are coming out with new episodes in 2016 – can’t wait.
Sunnydale in first place, Stars Hollow in second.
Fave fictional town is for sure stars hollow!
Favorite fictional town is Avonlea, from the Anne of Green Gables books I read as a child.
I’m glad the new sports bra (and Vaseline) worked! That’s great news. Good luck on your half marathon!! 🙂
I ate a really amazing Chimichanga last night!
I really want to be a sugar skull for Halloween. Talk about so major make up!
I’m not dressing up this year
I love Halloween so much and I’m definitely going to be dressing up this year. I got a really cool two piece skirt outfit from Heavy Red and I’m going to be Sherlock Holmes. I even have props!
Nope, never pet a penguin!
What’s your favorite fictional town (town from a TV show, book or movie)?
Hogsmeade comes to mind… I think I would really like to live in the TARDIS, which isn’t technically a town, but is bigger than one!
Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself?
I’ve helped paint my house, but I certainly didn’t do it alone!
Best indie or up-and-coming makeup brand?
Fyrinnae, Geek Chic Cosmetics
Are you going to dress up this year for Halloween? Do you have your costume figured out?
I am going to be the Eleventh Doctor! I have been scouring thrift shops looking for the right pieces. Now all I’m missing is a skirt and a button up shirt! I’ve got my bow tie, sonic screwdriver, jacket, boots, and tights all set up 🙂
Have you ever slept on a waterbed?
I think my parents had one at one point, but they got rid of it when my sister and I decided it was a toy.
Honestly, have you ever pet a penguin (I’d be surprised if anyone says yes to this!)?
Nope! I have this irrational thought that penguins would be mean… Cute as hell, but mean…
My sister-in-law is having a Halloween party. So I’ll probably dress up as a cat. 🙂
My gigantic Maine coon cat as a terrible tendency to walk across me when he wants attention. It can be painful as he’s a heavy cat
Stars Hollow, hands down! Fall always makes me want to go there even though it’s not real.
I have repainted the bedroom of my brother’s condo. It was my first time but it came out really good.
Once when I was visiting my parents, I repainted their Adirondack chair to match the bridge my dad had just built over the pond. It’s still that color all these years later!
I have never pet a Penguin but I am looking forward to the next Penguins of Madagascar movie, which is coming out at Thanksgiving.
I love painting! It completely changes the ambiance of a room! It’s so fun too if you get a bunch of your friends and blast the music…a painting party!!
Yes on the waterbed, back in the 90’s.
My last painting project was a prison i was a part of opening lol
Have you ever slept on a waterbed?
No – but I want to lol Seriously what a weird concept.
Avoid waterbeds at ALL costs. They’re terrible for your back! You get 0 support from them! In answer, yes, I’ve slept on one…. And had to stop after getting multiple compression fractures. It was awful.
Looking forward to Halloween. I would love to dress up. Its always great fun.
I just gave in into “the walking dead” show and it’s pretty good will see if I stick with it.
I have never visited your site before, but I love it! Thanks so much I will be following you now.
My favorite town has got to be Dallas, I’d love to live on Southfork Ranch
My son’s love ninja turtles so my sons are going to be Raphael and Donatello and my husband an i are going to be the other
I leave the room painting to the professionals, but I’ve done several pieces of furniture. 🙂 The last one was a small Ikea metal chest of drawers that I took from red to white, thanks to a good gray primer and lots of white spray paint.
That cat has swagger! Love it.
i don`t have any animals, not even penguin
My favorite fictional town is Mystic Falls.
I have a literal ton of homework that needs addressing. I have sooooooo much that I decided I needed to take a break to enter this contest. Yep.
I love Gilmore Girls so much – it is one of two shows (SATC being the other) that I own all the seasons on DVD! Do you watch Parenthood? If not, you so should – Lauren Graham is amazing in it, too! It’s in its last season on NBC but I’m sure you can binge watch the previous seasons online. 🙂
I love the new nude palettes that are coming out in the cosmetics field.
Love dressing up on Halloween, going as a walker from TWD
I so do not do Halloween!
Thinking of being a cute scarecrow this Halloween?
I have, sadly, never pet a penguin. I don’t evn know if penguins are friendly/good-natured enough to accept a petting. One day, though…
I just finished painting my dining room and stenciling an accent wall. I love how it turned out even thought it was very tedious.
I’m going to be at a rehearsal dinner for Halloween, but we are encouraged to wear costumes, so I think I’m going to be a victim from “Aliens”.
My favorite town is Llanview which is from the TV show called One Life To Live. Sadly abc canceled it and that’s confusing considering it was going up in ratings.
I like h2o beds. Haven’t petted a penguin.
I can paint rooms but prefer not too.
I would like to go out and do something for Halloween as in dress up and go to a party but don’t have the budget for it. Maybe with the $50 egift card it could help. 🙂
Boy, it sure is hot today in San Jose! Can’t believe it’s supposed to be 10-15° cooler the rest of the week.
I’ve always painted my homes myself. My hubby and I enjoy doing our own decorating, it gives us much satifaction in knowing we did all this beautiful work ourselves, not to mention we save a small fortune doing it ourselves!
I totally wish I were neighbors with Lorelei & Rory!
I plan on being a witch for Halloween!
I slept on a waterbed for 5 years. It took some getting use to, but it wasn’t too bad.
I have painted furniture and a room/house before!
We bought a cheap coffee table and dresser from the thrift store and sanded it and painted it. They look great, are sturdy and way cheaper than buying new!
I’ve never pet a penguin, but I’ve always wanted to!
I have painted a room myself and have more to do.
Hi Karen !! My favorite fictional town is Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls. I love this show and so did my mom. I just love all the characters that are part of this show/town.
Painted my bathroom and hallway last year….never again
I am not going to dress up this year,I love sleeping on a waterbed but it wouldn’t be good with my fur-babies.I have painted a room myself-a purple one.I think a penguin might be nice to pet, maybe I should visit the zoo and ask.My favorite fictional town would be wherever Odd Thomas happened to be a that moment.Anyone else in the middle of a storm right now?
I have to say, since it’s now Harry Potter week on ABC Family, id like to shout from the rooftops that as an almost 30 year old, I effing love HARRY POTTER! Happy month of Halloween!
Waterbeds are so soothing 🙂
I have slept on a water bed. It was quite comfortable until I woke up in the middle of the night soaking wet! The slow leak turned into a big mess.
What’s your favorite fictional town (town from a TV show, book or movie)? Walnut Grove from Little House on the Prairie.
Have you ever painted a room or a piece of furniture yourself? Yes, if doing a couple feet and then sneaking out of the room and letting my husband finish counts.
Honestly, have you ever pet a penguin (I’d be surprised if anyone says yes to this!)? Not really, but my sister’s ex-boyfriend used to call her “Penguin” because of her black and white waitress uniform. She still calls herself a penguin sometimes even though she’s married with two kids. She also wants a penguin tattoo sometimes. No, that is for real and not just in my nightmares.
Worried one of my kitties is very ill. Lost one less than a month ago. 🙁
I have pet a penguin and they don’t feel like you would expect.
Genoa City
My favorite shows right are Sleepy Hollow and Blacklist.
Well this is not a fictional town but my favorite place I’ve never been to and read about in a book is Prince Edward Island in the Anne of Green Gables books. I want to go so bad! Also I want to get into more indy brands since I am vegan and the only brand that I know of that I an buy with no hesitation is OCC.
Definitely planning on dressing up for Halloween! Do I know what I’m dressing up as yet..? Nope of course not 😉 haha. Hoping to pick up some new makeup soon though, to play around with and see if I can come up with Halloween inspiration! xo
I wish I had a costume figured out! Last year I was lazy and went with sexy cat haha.
I have slept on a waterbed!! And when you lose electricity during a blizzard, I can promise you that they’re not very comfortable when they’re not heated!
