I’ve only recently become comfortable in red lipstick! I have a REALLY old tube of MAC Mystic (from when it was in a silver tube!) that is my go-to red. I’ve been thinking of expanding my horizons and just yesterday was looking at shades online! I need to hie myself to a counter and find my inner pin-up. 🙂
Oh my, such a fiery red! Red lipstick, in my opinion, is the ultimate beauty statement, though at many times it’s hard to pull off. But with the right shade, red lipstick for me will always be the true mark of confidence!

Red lipstick reminds me of pin-up girls like Betty page, it’s classic and should never go out of style. As long as the undertones in the red matches your skintone, anyone can pull it off IMO. Because of my tan complexion, I wear blue-based reds and it comes of dramatic without looking gothic. There are so many shades of red out there than there is one for everybody.
I LOVE red lipstick. As long as you don’t have a full face on, I think it can be appropriate for just about any occasion.
I’ve recently gotten into red lipstick (although I tend to shade a little more toward a berry red rather than a true red) and I love the way it makes me look. I have huge lips so it can be overpowering, but when it’s done right, it looks awesome!
I won’t lie… it’s a little scary! But I’ve been easing into it with red glosses and sheer lipsticks, so maybe one day I’ll be brave enough to rock a lip that bright!
To be honest I have never worn red lip stick. It is intimidating to wear such a bold color when I’m used to neutrals only. For some reason I feel like I need to have super white teeth to pull it off. But I definitely would feel confident and sexy ( a la Joan from Mad Men).
For me redlipstick is very theatrical. I am a competion dancer and when we go to competitions and have preformances we all wear royal red by maybelline.
I’ve really come to love red lipstick. It’s something I can pull off pretty well. Still, there’s definitely a time and place for it. If I need to doll up and steal a spot light, that’s usually when I’ll reach for the red.

I LOVE red lipstick — when it’s done right. I think it’s OK for daytime if it’s sheer and/or glossy. Vibrant and matte is perfect for nighttime. Regardless of when and where you wear red lips, it has to be the right shade for you. No one wants their lipsticks making their teeth look yellow! =)

I think a woman has to find that right red shade of lipstick that she is ultimately comfortable in. Honestly, I just got the guts to go out there with red lipstick and definite criteria for me in finding one is how comfortable I feel rockin it!

Red lipstick and I are a best friends. We go hand in hand, and I love that subtle differences in shade set a different mood on your look.
Red lipstick can be dressy and sexy or very formal. It depends on the shade you wear. If you go for a more matte red that is closer to brick red, it’ll look more toned-down and it will be easy to wear during the day. Glossier reds that have more brighter tones (cherry reds, strawberry reds, etc.) are better for the evening. Of course, you have to always consider your complexion and undertones but the bottom line is if you go for matte and keep your eyes neutral, you can pull it off for daytime. I love red lipstick no matter what the occasion. It just makes a woman feel special! 🙂

i ADORE red lipstick. I wear it almost every day. I know some people think it’s too much for daytime, but I personally think it’s fun and sexy– and why wouldn’t I want to look sexy during the day as well as night?

Red lipstick! That always makes me think of my aunt! She was a tall, slender, classy redhead with a very fair complexion who wore a red lipstick which was perfect for her. I have no idea what it was, (I think it was by Revlon), and it looked wonderful on her! When I was a kid, I’d watch her painting her nails the same red and “doing” her makeup which was always beautiful. She wore Chanel suits, really high heels and WOW! She was a gorgeous lady for sure. It was that red lipstick!
I love the attention you get when you wear red lipstick, but I’ve never been able to find a shade that matches my yellow undertones! The whole blue-toned lipstick blah always confused me. I got a Stila lipgloss that was in Cranberry, a brick red, and I tried it, but it COMPLETELY washed me out and it was terrible.

I love red lipstick and it’s various intensities! I love it with a minimal natural eye or at night with a really polished look… Classy! I have an Aveda deep red that looks awesome (and makes my teeth look really white) and I also have a Victoria’s Secret one that has shimmer to it and looks more like a poppy shade. Yummy!
Red lipstick is something that requires confidence and excellent, white teeth. It demands attention. Red lipstick is amazing, for it can be downplayed with simple eyeshadow or really amped up for a complete look.

I recently bought red lipstick to try out because of this blog it inspired and encouraged me to try different makeup. I will say red lipstick rocks! It makes me feel powerful and sexy. i have a love/hate relationship with red lipstick. i’ve bought a few tubes over the past years, from drugstores to Sephora to Bergdorf Goodman… i’ll love it when i try it on for the first time, but when i go to actually wear it… GEEZ, I HATE IT lol.. hopefully if its good enough for my Honey B, Infallible will work wonders on my lips 🙂

I think it looks awesome on a lot of women, but I don’t like it for myself. I’m sure if a stranger saw me wearing it, he/she would think it was fine. But to me or anyone who knows me, it would be unsettling. A nice berry (like Clinique’s sadly discontinued “Gorgeous”) is much more flattering on me; and not shockingly out of character! 🙂
I’ve worn red for over 40 years & will continue forever.
When I was a performer at Disney World 6 years ago my role required me to wear red lipstick everyday! After that I never wore red lipstick again til a few months ago when I was feeling bold so I went for a rock-n-roll look, and I fell in love with red lips again 🙂 it’s not an everyday look for me like Gwen Stefani but it’s great for a night out with the girls!

I love the drama of reds and burgundies and you’re right there is a time and place but generally I found it’s my mood that determines if I’m going to wear something dramatic.
