Early last week I ran out of my fave Bumble & Bumble shampoo. I couldn’t pop by Ulta for a restock until the weekend, so I ended up washing my hair with what was in the shower – my daughter’s Johnson’s Baby Shampoo.
You know what? I didn’t mind it at all. In fact, I actually like it enough to keep using it, LOL!
This got me thinking about products made for kids, and sharing what great things we’ve all found from this specific corner of bath/skin/hair products.
But back to me raving about the Baby Shampoo. Reasons why I’m into it:
- My strands feel clean but not stripped; same thing with my scalp.
- The shampoo is lightweight and doesn’t leave a film on my hair.
- Around this time of year, my allergies kick in and everything I come into contact with seems to give me hives. This shampoo doesn’t seem to do that.
- I like the scent, which is present but not obnoxious.
- It’s affordable!
If you’re looking for a gentle shampoo you can find at the drugstore, it might be one to consider.
OK, how about you? Do you use any skin, hair or body products made for kids or babies? Please share your gems!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Happy Wednesday. The sun is out today and I gotta say… My mood is so much brighter! I’m happy for all the rain we’re getting, but I definitely start to feel a little blah if I don’t get enough sun. Anyway, I’m going outside for a walk in a few. Gotta get that Vitamin D!

I sometimes use my baby’s detangler. It’s the Honest one and it smells like an orange creamsicle! It works really well and I love the smell
We use that one sometimes, too! Smells so good!
I love pretty much all of the Honest Company products. Their shampoo & body wash is the only thing I’ve found that will work for one of my twins who has really sensitive skin. I’ve used it too, but only as a body wash. (I don’t think I will ever run out of shampoo for myself, I stock up when it’s on sale and have quite a supply!) A lot of the Honest products are meant to be used for both adult and baby I believe.
I like them too when we’re not having allergies! I’ve used the shampoo, conditioner, hair detangler and the lotion.
I recently put some Penaten on my face, and it cleared up this unexplained face rash I’ve had for months.
Oh wow, that’s kinda cool!
I use Johnson’s baby wash in a pinch for my facial cleanser and you know what? I like it! Gentle, low fragrance, doesn’t strip my acid mantle, removes makeup – thumbs up!
Oh my gosh, I’ll have to try that!
It’s great for washing makeup brushes too!
I regularly use the Honest spray on detangler. And the Burts Bees baby shampoo (which you can get huge pump bottles of on Amazon for not a lot of $$)
Burt’s Bees has some really nice things in their baby line!
YES! I use Honest Baby products and Aveeno baby products. Very lightly or not scented at all and the body wash, shampoos and body lotions are wonderful for sensitive/intolerant skin.
I never really think of J&J Baby Shampoo being for kids, because Dear Husband has been using it every since I met him 35 years ago. Lol.
So we use that. I often use sunscreens marketed for kids because they’re usually a physical sunscreen without alcohol, so less likely to irritate my reactive skin.
I’m also really happy to see blue sky today! I looked at the weather report for our vacation next week and it’s supposed to rain there every day except for the first two. Sigh. I’m so tired of rain. I feel waterlogged. I know we need the rain, but it’s gotten to be too much.
I’ve got eczema, rosacea, and random allergies so I’m a fan of some baby products – however, a lot still have stuff I’m allergic to plus things I avoid like essential oils. I love the Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy line – the cream is the same as the adult version but the baby wash is great – I use them both on my face when it’s really irritated. I often use baby sunscreen on because they tend to be less irritating (and me being fair skinned I can handle the white cast) but right now I have Coppertone Mineral Sport (and Clinique Pep Start, but that’s a bit drying).
Oh! And tearless baby shampoo to clean the eye areas when you have eye infections or styes!
My sister alerted me to the wonderful things about Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. She uses it for washing her hair, cleansing her face, and as a body wash. Talk about about a 3 in 1 product. My younger sister has been doing this for years, and she has really great hair and beautiful skin, and she’s 54!! I need to pick up a bottle soon!!
Ever since I had to go through chemotherapy, I have used Aquaphor Baby Wash & Shampoo as my body wash. It’s unscented, and gentle to skin. I will probably continue to use it as long as it’s made.
For some reason, my hair seems to respond really well to the Suave Kids Disney Frozen Berry Flurry 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner. (I’m a longtime Disnerd-Disney nerd-so I can’t really complain.) I rotate between 3 shampoos to minimize scalp dryness, but my hair seems to be at its shiniest when I use the Frozen shampoo!
