I’m only realizing JUST NOW that I still haven’t purchased the one beauty thing I actually needed to buy this week (an Ilia eyeliner to replace the one I finished). Still haven’t made it to Sephora. Sigh. I did manage to grab some things at Target and Ulta to replace other items that were running low, though!
Side note: while I was at Ulta yesterday, I overheard a mom telling her teenage daughter that she was done waiting and that 45 minutes was plenty of time to pick out a nail polish, and they needed to go, like, NOW. Ahhh! Will that ever be me and Connor?
Anywho, I bought a bottle of Zoya Remove+ (works great on glitters) and an oil cleanser that’s new to me, Tula Skincare #NoMakeup Replenishing Cleansing Oil. I tried it last night and I think I might be returning it. It didn’t sting my eyes (yay), but after I rinsed it off, my eyes felt dry and kinda itchy.
Honestly, I don’t know why I keep trying new cleansing oils when I know the DHC one is the bomb dot com. You know how it is when you’re a beauty lover, though; you might already something is great and it works, but you’re always on the hunt to find the next best thing.
Onto hair. I’ve been wanting to try Function of Beauty for a while, so I finally grabbed a few things from Target from the Wavy Hair Line: the shampoo, the hair mask, two of the boosters (one for heat protection and one for fighting frizz) and the leave-in treatment.
Have you purchased anything lately?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I just purchased the Tarte under eye corrector in Light/Medium. It’s so nice, I can use it alone without a concealer, and the Benefit setting spray. Loving them both
Hi Lee,
Don’t you love it when products totally work for ya? I’m just about to finish an Hourglass under eye concealer and am debating on whether or not to repurchase it or try something new. The struggle is real, LOL!
Girl you’re not kidding, my under eyes are turning 62 this year. I’m about to kick them to the curb .
Haha, you and me both! Here’s something funny; I’ve found the less I wear in my under eye area, the better off I generally am. I used to do a TON of layering with color corrector, powder, concealer, additional powder… Nowadays, if I can blend a few dots of Hourglass Retouching Fluid on, I’m good!
I’m being bombarded with emails from Il Maquiage (something like that) about their supposed perfect concealer. Anyone tried this? Is it just hype and marketing ploy?
Karen – I’ll be interested to hear how Function of Beauty works out e.g. is it any better than regular shampoo? I’m currently adding some water to three heaped tablespoons of Gram flour and mixing it to a shampoo consistency and using that. It’s great if you have fine, floppy hair like me – instant body!
I haven’t tried it. I’ve been all about Hourglass Veil Retouching Fluid lately.
I’m really hoping that Function of Beauty works well! I’ve heard good things about it.
Oh, and thanks for shampoo tip. 🙂
My daughter Liz uses that Function of Beauty Wavy Hair Shampoo. I tried it too, and I liked it. My daughter and I have different hair though. I have wavy hair, but it is more medium to fine. My daughter’s on the other hand, is thicker, and really wavy, verging on curly. I love her hair!! She got from her daddy. LOL!! Anyway, she seems to like that shampoo for her wavy locks.
I had to order a body powder (Megababe Bust Dust, for anyone who’s interested) from Target last week, and I put in a bunch of Milani lipsticks to hit free shipping-Shine Fetish in Fantasy, Seduce, and Bitten and some of the new Fleur Collection shades of Matte Fetish-Petal, Blossom, and Fleur. The packages arrived yesterday when they were expected today, but it unfortunately looks like the packers forgot Seduce, so I’ve asked for a replacement tube-it’s due to arrive Tuesday.
I didn’t purchase much, zwo new sunscreens and a new mascara because the old one was nearing the 3 months mark and was starting to dry out. But other than that I really don’t need much at the moment.
I purchased a MAC eyeliner in Teddy (Thanks Karen😉). I also purchased a Tarte Water Foundation (Rainforest of the sea) because they are discontinuing it and it’s my favorite 😢. It’s always rated high and and it was a bestseller for them. I’m not sure why they are letting it go. So now I must find a new foundation that is similar…I have other foundations that I really like…but not love.
Hair products are hard for me because I have to buy fragrance free (husband’s asthma always gets worse with perfumes/fragrances). I like the Kristin Ess (Fragrance Free) line at Target and just bought some more conditioner.
