So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of five more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007). I love reading your answers, and it helps me get my week off to a good start.
1. What lipstick do you wear the most?
Lately, MAC Velvet Teddy (that is, when it’s not falling in the toilet, OY!), because it goes with everything.
2. What’s your upper monetary limit for a lipstick?
Hmm… $55 seems rational (ha ha ha) to me!
3. Purple or brown lipstick? (Don’t overthink it.)
I’d almost say purple, because purple is tons of fun, but I’ve been told I can pull off brown pretty well. So brown, I guess.
4. What lipstick color do you feel weird wearing?
Anything on the pastel side, especially if it’s opaque. I feel extremely self-conscious wearing light pastel pinks.
5. If you had to apply red lipstick ? while you were riding a roller coaster, how would you do?
My first reaction was, “I got this boo,” because I’m not afraid of heights or thrill rides, but let’s get real. I’d end up looking like a really sweaty version of The Joker!
It’s kinda funny to me…
…that lipstick should have its own national day of celebration, because isn’t every day Lipstick Day? LOL.
What lippie are you wearing today? Right now, I’m wearing matte rosy brown MAC Half ‘N Half, and note to self, I need to give it some Unsung Heroes love ASAP.

I’m really ashamed that I didn’t realize it was National Lipstick Day!
1. What lipstick do you wear the most? I’d have to say Urban Decay in Naked or Bobbi Brown in Brown
2. What’s your upper monetary limit for a lipstick? I’m trying to remember the most I’ve ever paid for a lipstick. Maybe $39? But I think I’d go as high as $60.
3. Purple or brown lipstick? (Don’t overthink it.) Purple. I don’t think brown is my jam.

5. If you had to apply red lipstick while you were riding a roller coaster, how would you do? I would do a crap job. I have my best application when I’m stationary. It would probably be all over my teeth because the handful of times I’ve ridden a roller coaster I’ve been screaming my lungs out.
Sometimes I feel weird wearing orange, too, especially true orange lippies with a shiny finish. Matte… OK. I can deal!

2. What’s your upper monetary limit for a lipstick? Uh, I’m cheap and broke these days so probably about $25 and that’s only for something really special. I just got one of those new UD Vice stains and I’m liking it.
3. Purple or brown lipstick? (Don’t overthink it.) I’d blend them both but if I had to pick one, I think I’d go with the purple.
4. What lipstick color do you feel weird wearing? Pastels, for sure, and wearing pastel with any orange tones makes me look really ill.
5. If you had to apply red lipstick while you were riding a roller coaster, how would you do? Perfect, because I wouldn’t be riding the roller coaster in the first place. If I was, I’d be scared and the lipstick would probably end up going up my nose!!
Happy National Lipstick Day! I’ve been sick this past week, and I just woke up, so no makeup on yet. I have no idea what I’m going to wear, but I’m dying to try my new Sephora #Lipstories Margs (matte olive) and Kylie Cosmetics Metallic Lipstick in Monster (metallic dark gunmetal-olive with gold shimmer).
1. What lipstick do you wear the most? I change colors every day to avoid boredom and actually use my huge lipstick stash. Over time, probably Urban Decay Sheer Rapture (MLBB) and Wet n Wild x Fergie Perfect Pout Lipstick in Bebot Love (DC, but UD 1993 is a perfect dupe).
2. What’s your upper monetary limit for a lipstick? The most I’ve spent is $55, but that was a special and unprecedented exception (Tom Ford Lip Spark in Powertrip).
3. Purple or brown lipstick? (Don’t overthink it.) Purple
4. What lipstick color do you feel weird wearing? Matte, light nudes. They do nothing for me at best, and make me look like a corpse at worst.
5. If you had to apply red lipstick while you were riding a roller coaster, how would you do? I don’t ride roller coasters, as I get motion sickness, and have not been on a big one since I was 16. If it’s still like the old days, and they have to go slower and ratchet-climb up the really tall peaks, then I could put the lipstick on then and do fine. While it’s moving? I honestly forgot it was National Lipstick Day. I’m not wearing any lipstick because it just seems silly when you’re vacuuming, mopping, and on the floor scrubbing up drywall dust. (Yes, that part of the house-fixing is over!) Or maybe that’s exactly the time to wear a fabulous lip? ? ?

Absolutely awful because I’m really scared of roller coasters and am not supposed to go on them because of a heart condition.

Lately, I’ve been reaching for either Chantecaille’s Pink Lotus or NARS Slow Ride.

Hmm…max $50 but it would have to be one that I know I’d use over and over. I’ve got way too many lipsticks I like and occasionally use, but not LOVE, and they’ve been piling up (still trying to whittle them down, but I swear they’re procreating without my knowledge)!

How about light purple (lilac) or dark purple with a touch of red (mulberry)? 🙂

Light bluish pink – looks so wrong with my complexion – or a greyish beige.

Eeek, you’ll never get me on a roller coaster, even a kiddie one! But, if I *had* to, I would probably end up with a huge blob of lipstick in the middle of my lips, along with a huge stripe up my nose to my forehead (because darn those drops!), and another huge stripe connecting both my ears (darn those twists and turns!) LOL.
Btw, not sure if you saw this, but NARS launched the reformulated lipsticks on their website today! Time to replace some of my old faves……

5. Girl, I was just at Dollywood and those coasters are LEGIT. If I was on the Thunderhead wooden coaster that goes 54 mph I’m pretty sure I’d lose the whole tube. But the Soaring Eagle coaster is really smooth so I might have better luck on that one! Happy lipstick day which I agree is every day!

My summer jam is L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine in Polished Tango, which is the color of the Tango. Not really (what a silly name, though!) — it’s a sheer watermelon pink lippie.

Since lipsticks roll all over the floor of the car, melt in hot weather, and as cream products can get gross rather quickly, my upper limit is $25.

Pale purplish nude or greige. My lips are not very pigmented to begin with, and as a perilously pale person I’d seriously be pulling off the corpse look.
