So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Bucket hat or a fedora?
I’ve worn both and have no business in either. LOL! I would go with the bucket hat if I had to purely for the nostalgia of it.
2. Someone you’d like to hang out with more often?
My friend Corey. She gets my jokes, and I like her three sweet daughters.
3. A piece of makeup you’ve been wearing a lot lately?
Chanel Malice Blush, an oldie but a goodie!
4. Something you find a little silly?
A room in the house that’s solely devoted to storing a child’s toys. Oh, and teeny cropped jackets.
5. Besides your wallet and keys, what’s something you usually have with you in your purse?
Hand sanitizer. Trader Joe’s Green Tea Mints. Miscellaneous receipts that could easily be thrown away. Lip balm.

1. Bucket hat or a fedora? My husband has quite a collection of fedoras. I regularly wear one as we are the same hat size.
2. Someone you’d like to hang out with more often? My friend Frances and her husband Mark – our husbands both travel constantly and it’s hard to set up a time we’re all home.
3. A piece of makeup you’ve been wearing a lot lately? Me Time Botanicals Lip and Color Cream in “Confident” (a soft dusky rose). I wear it on my cheeks, lips, eyelids, it has shimmer without “sparkle” and the color goes with anything.
4. Something you find a little silly? Food labeling. I get it, it’s important when you have a child (or yourself) with a serious allergy, but come on “gluten free water!?”
5. Besides your wallet and keys, what’s something you usually have with you in your purse? Honua SPF 30 mineral sunscreen (just the right size to tote in a purse).

Fedoras are classy but not a realistic look for my every day outfits. A bucket hat is less chic but more functional, say, at the beach.

Mom friends in general. We can’t talk unfiltered when the kiddos are present.

A certain shade of ColourPop lipstick.
4. Something you find a little silly?
YouTube channels devoted to things people hate. I say, “Don’t hate, celebrate!”
5. Besides your wallet and keys, what’s something you usually have with you in your purse?
My younger son’s EpiPen. Peanuts equal a trip to the ER.
I can’t imagine spending that much time hating on things. Too exhausting!

2. Someone you’d like to hang out with more often? My friend Terry, we are both retired and it’s harder than ever to find time to get together, lol.
3. A piece of makeup you’ve been wearing a lot lately? I really love my DRMTLGY tinted moisturizer.
4. Something you find a little silly? I agree with labeling. I was washing a shirt of my grandsons and on the label it said, “remove child before washing”. That’s ridiculous.

OK, that’s weirdly hilarious! I can’t believe someone needs to be told that. LOL!

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in the color Happy.

Flare leg pants. I’m into boot cut and wide leg, but flare legs are just bell bottoms by another name and they needed to stay in the 70’s.

Touchland hand sanitizer. My girls are like, “oh, I don’t need any” when I offer them regular hand sanitizer, but they’ll use up all my bougie Touchland.😄
How funny, I was at the dance studio a couple weeks ago and all the little girls were lining up their Touchland hand sanitizers like they were prized possessions, LOL!

Oh my gosh, don’t even get me started on the Stanley cup thing!

Me! I’m sadly lacking in alone time lately.

Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint. In terms of moisturizing, it’s just okay.

Team sports. Guess I just don’t get the tribalism behind it.

Reusable shopping bags, facial tissues and face masks.

4. Something you find a little silly? Well… not food labels because my kiddo has a tree nut allergy and they are life-saving. I definitely agree with the water bottle obsession being silly…it’s just a cup.

Oh my goodness! I wonder if I’m going to show up to school on free dress day and see a bunch of little kids wearing bucket hats, LOL!
1. Bucket hat or a fedora? Fedora, as a bucket hat does nothing to protect your face from the sun. A fedora isn’t much better, but it is better than a bucket hat.
2. Someone you’d like to hang out with more often? I used to have a work friend I’d eat lunch with fairly often. She moved on to another job (same organization), then the pandemic started, making everyone work at home, so we don’t run into each other anymore.
3. A piece of makeup you’ve been wearing a lot lately? Milani Luminoso blush.
4. Something you find a little silly? So many things. People using so much highlighter they look like they’re made of shiny plastic. People who glue their eyebrows down to their face. People who emphasize their eyebrows far too much, so it’s the only thing you really notice on their faces. Sharp-pointed shoes. Skinny pants. Those too-small men’s suits that were popular a few years ago (made them all look like Pee-Wee Herman). I could go on and on.
5. Besides your wallet and keys, what’s something you usually have with you in your purse? A pen. I don’t like to use other people’s pens – don’t need the germs.
