So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Summer or winter?
For the record fall is where it’s at, LOL! But if I had to choose between the two, I’d go with summer.
2. Lipstick or lip oil?
Lipstick baby.
3. One of your talents?
I have the knack for organizing large amounts of information down into snack sized bites.
4. Your favorite work lunch?
At TJ’s there’s a spring roll with shrimp and peanut dip that’s tasty and easy to eat. Side note, when I’m in a hurry to scarf my lunch down, the last thing I wanna eat is a big bowl of salad. Too time consuming with all that chewing! Anywho, if they don’t have the shrimp spring roll available, the tofu one is good too.
5. Something that makes you feel peaceful?
Right now it’s when my immediate family is all sleeping under one roof together. I know Connor’s childhood and teenage years will go by fast, and soon enough she’ll spread her wings. I truly cherish the sense of peace I have when I know that she’s safe and sleeping in her bed at night.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

1. Summer or winter? Winter, unless I get to move to San Diego. I live in an area of hot, humid weather that usually starts in May and does not end until around Oct. 20th. That gets really old when you live in an area like that for a very long time. I always say that it takes a couple of years for newcomers to realize what a stupid decision they made in moving to this area – as there will NEVER be a good summer here, and electricity is always expensive.
2. Lipstick or lip oil? Lipstick.
3. One of your talents? Sizing up people, especially scammers.
4. Your favorite work lunch? Probably the Stouffer’s Chicken Alfredo entree.
5. Something that makes you feel peaceful? Nothing now. But when I used to have my Sheltie (RIP), just hugging him, placing my cheek on the top of his head, made me feel immeasurably better after a bad day. As I’ve said before, I probably wouldn’t be here now if I had not had a good dog at a very difficult time in my life.
1. Summer or winter? Hmm. Summer is too hot for me, but I prefer it over winter. Definitely a fall girl.
2. Lipstick or lip oil? I love Milani Lip Fruit Fetish lip oils (but I also love MAC lipsticks)
3. One of your talents? I can usually calm down an angry customer at my office
4. Your favorite work lunch? Pasta salad (carbs)
5. Something that makes you feel peaceful? Hummingbirds. I could watch them all day. Also swinging on a swing set.
1. Summer or winter? Where I’m living, winter. Summers here are too hot for me.
2. Lipstick or lip oil? Lipstick. If I’m going to wear it, it needs to last.
3. One of your talents? Data patterns and organization are the ones I use the most.
4. Your favorite work lunch? Not sure I have one. Since the pandemic started (and we lost our on-site cafeteria) it’s really anything that I didn’t have to bring myself. We have one food truck per week and luckily, there’s now a Wegmans close by if I can find the time to actually escape and get lunch.
5. Something that makes you feel peaceful? Being in the house by myself for more than a few hours. Again, since the pandemic started, this is rare.
