So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).

2. What’s more difficult: putting on false lashes or painting your nails?
I’m a little out of practice with putting on falsies, so let’s go with that.
3. Dark brown lipstick: yes or no?
Sure, why not? But only in the fall because that’s when it feels right to wear matte dark brown lipstick.
4. Pasta salad: good or gross?
Good, but it totally hinges on two things:1) the texture of the pasta and 2) the sauce. If the pasta is overcooked and super soft, forget it! I’m not touching it. If the sauce is too spicy or too bland, I’m not messing with it, either.
5. What are you looking forward to most this week?
Besides Friday? The college is doing some construction work on our offices so I get to work from home today and tomorrow, woo hoo!

1. Crocs or Converse? Crocs! I used to be a hater, but I love the convenience and the fact that I can clean them off with dish soap and water. They’re really comfy, too.
2. What’s more difficult: putting on false lashes or painting your nails? Putting on false lashes is infinitely harder.
3. Dark brown lipstick: yes or no? No for me. The older I get, the more I embrace the lighter/brownish pinks. Dark lipstick makes my lips look so tiny. 🙁
4. Pasta salad: good or gross? Love me so some pasta salad sans cheese, please!
5. What are you looking forward to most this week? I am most looking forward to my head spa tonight and the weekend. This year’s been ultra tough.

Lashes. Painting my nails has become much easier since I started using Olive & June.

Not any more. I did the whole 90’s/early 2000’s thing once. I’ll pass the second time around, lol.

Good, if it’s made well.

Some chill out time after a hectic long weekend.
Karen, I saw the pics on Instagram of Connor singing with Marnie dressed in sequins as her ‘backup dancer’ and nearly fell out of my chair laughing. It brought back so many good memories of when my grown-up girls were younger and we still had our sweet doggo. Thank you for the belly laugh.
Oh, that makes me so happy to hear! Marnie is surprisingly easy going when it comes to the sequins and tutus. 🙂

Putting on false lashes — I’ve never done it and don’t plan to try.

Yes, in certain situations.

Good! I’m eating it for lunch now.

The feeling of a clean house. Of course I have to clean it first…

3. Dark brown lipstick: yes or no? I’m really pale so it just makes me look like a vampire.
4. Pasta salad: good or gross? Al dente pasta and the dressing makes it good. Our favorite: (makes 1 cup dressing). Basil Vinaigrette, recipe from Enzo’s Table (makes 1 cup)
¼ Cup Shallots, minced
¼ Cup Fresh lemon juice
1 Tbsp. Champagne vinegar
1 Tsp. Kosher salt.
½ Cup ENZO Organic Basil Crush Olive Oil (from Madera CA)
½ Tsp. Fresh cracked black pepper, plus more to taste
Combine the shallots, lemon juice vinegar and salt in a small bowl. Add the Basil Crush Olive Oil in a slow, steady stream, whisking to combine. Season with S & P.
5. What are you looking forward to most this week? No firework noise! (seriously, it want on for a WEEK until 1-2 am some nights),.
This salad looks like a winner! I want to add cherry tomatoes to it, yum!

Well that would be next week again. But since that recipe doesn’t have mayo and has two of his favorite ingredients, bacon and corn, I might just try that one on him.

1. Crocs or Converse? Never had Converse – not sure it comes in a width in women’s shoes I could wear. I have a few Crocs – they are comfortable and I don’t have to worry about the yard dirt getting on them (which happens to every pair of shoes I wear outside). So I guess Crocs.
2. What’s more difficult: putting on false lashes or painting your nails? I’ve actually not yet tried false eyelashes. Nails weren’t too hard until my left eye developed astigmatism. I need eyeglasses on now to paint my nails. Non-dominant hand is a problem, too.

5. What are you looking forward to most this week? The weekend? I have an oncology app’t tomorrow and am hoping for a clean bill of health, but I’m rather worried. This is the time of year in TX where everyone just hopes to survive the summer (which won’t end until October). I guarantee you the rich people who claim TX residency for tax reasons aren’t here right now, and they won’t be back until October unless business reasons force them to come back sooner.

Younger me would hate me saying this, because I used to wear converse all the time, but I have to say crocs! I can’t do converse anymore, they’re too flat, and my girls love their crocs!

Thursday when my mom is going to watch the girls, lol! We had a good weekend at the lake, but man it was a lot! When they need consoling they only want mom and I’m a little mommed out right now!
