So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Do you like your tinted sunscreen/tinted moisturizer with a glowy or a matte finish?
During the summer I prefer matte because eventually the sweat and oil will break through and turn it into a glowy finish, ha ha ha!
2. Eyeliner on your waterline: yes or no?
Although I love how it looks, currently for me it’s a no. My eyes seem to bother me less when I skip it, sigh.
3. Last thing you ate?
I had a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with a pat of butter. Yum!
4. What was the last movie you saw, and how did you like it?
We did a family movie night last Saturday and watched “Young Woman and the Sea,” which was about Trudy Ederle, the first woman to cross the English Channel.
5. If all your nail polishes had to be one color, which one would you pick?
Blue!

1. Do you like your tinted sunscreen/tinted moisturizer with a glowy or a matte finish? Glowy…Before 40, I would have always picked matte. Now it just looks blah on me.
2. Eyeliner on your waterline: yes or no? Yes…it’s a habit that I can’t stop.
3. Last thing you ate? Greek yogurt with blueberries, bananas, and nuts

1. Do you like your tinted sunscreen/tinted moisturizer with a glowy or a matte finish? I do not wear tinted sunscreen/moisturizer. I’m fair and the tints (I’ve tried several different brands) always look unnatural on me. I wear a transparent mineral sunscreen. Although it does not leave a white cast, it does have some glow because mineral sunscreens are reflective. My sunscreen gives a soft glow that looks lovely under my foundation.
2. Eyeliner on your waterline: yes or no? I love eyeliner but never apply it on my water line.
3. Last thing you ate? I had manaesh and a cup of tea for breakfast
4. What was the last movie you saw, and how did you like it? I haven’t seen a movie in ages.
5. If all your nail polishes had to be one color, which one would you pick? They’d be a soft, transparent pink.
1. Do you like your tinted sunscreen/tinted moisturizer with a glowy or a matte finish? I have super dry skin, so slightly glowy looks better. Currently wearing True Botanical Mineral. Glow without shine and it doesn’t break me out (no fragrance).
2. Eyeliner on your waterline: yes or no? No, it irritates my eyes.
3. Last thing you ate? Steamed rice with some leftover veggies stir fried in an easy low sodium kung pao sauce:
1 Tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce (I used coconut aminos)
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar (I used a barrel aged one with a lot of richness to it)
1 tsp sriracha sauce
2 Tbsp water
4. What was the last movie you saw, and how did you like it? Past Lives. Loved it – subtle and brilliant performances, and the ending was perfect.
5. If all your nail polishes had to be one color, which one would you pick? Pink.
1. Do you like your tinted sunscreen/tinted moisturizer with a glowy or a matte finish? Glowy, because my skin is a bit drier than it used to be, and I usually use a little powder on it to help it stay in place.
2. Eyeliner on your waterline: yes or no? No. Doctors say you shouldn’t do that, and I’m sure it would irritate my eyes. Also, it makes small eyes look smaller. Look at the photos of Natalee Holloway (the Alabama girl who disappeared in Aruba years ago). She was wearing black inner-rim eyeliner on all the photos, but all it did was make her eyes look smaller.
3. Last thing you ate? Ghirardelli Double Chocolate mix brownies. They’re pretty good, but a little expensive for a mix.
4. What was the last movie you saw, and how did you like it? I finally got around to seeing “To Die For,” an old Nicole Kidman movie. Didn’t care for it too much. It clearly was based on the Pam Smart murder case (look up the real one – she’s in prison, and it sure has taken a toll on her). It had what you might call a “Hays Office” ending – by changing the story they had the Mafia give her what she deserved, instead of a prison sentence.
5. If all your nail polishes had to be one color, which one would you pick? Probably turquoise blue, or any blue shade, but not real dark.

1. Do you like your tinted sunscreen/tinted moisturizer with a glowy or a matte finish? I use Isdin and it leaves me looking … moisturized (?) but not sure if that counts for glowy. I don’t powder over it. I then use MDSolarSciences Solar Stick around the noon hour. So far nobody’s complained. lol
2. Eyeliner on your waterline: yes or no? Nope.
3. Last thing you ate? Three Sukhi chicken tikka masala samosas and boy did they hit the spot.
4. What was the last movie you saw, and how did you like it? Find Me Falling on Netflix. It has Harry Connick, Jr. and a lot of azure seas. I think it’s set in Crete. It was meh but the scenery was wonderful!
5. If all your nail polishes had to be one color, which one would you pick? Blue please!

1. Do you like your tinted sunscreen/tinted moisturizer with a glowy or a matte finish? I do not wear tinted sunscreens, because I am fair and tinted sunscreens are either too dark, too yellow based or too orange on me. I like finishes somewhere between matte and a light glow. Let’s call it natural skin.
2. Eyeliner on your waterline: yes or no? No. My optometrist listed all the bad things that can come from lining my waterline, so I pass. Not that it’s comfortable anyway. Put anything on my waterline and my eyes immediately tear up.
3. Last thing you ate? Tuna mayo onigiri that Dear Daughter brought from the Japanese market on her way home from the gym. Gee I like having her around even if it’s just for a few days.
4. What was the last movie you saw, and how did you like it? Perfect Days by Wim Wenders. It’s a Japanese movie. I loved it in the end. I asked Dear Husband to pause it about 7-10 minutes in so I could ask, “Has the main character said anything yet?”
5. If all your nail polishes had to be one color, which one would you pick? In the medium to light pink/rose/nude range.
