So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Painting or sketching?
I’m not particularly great at either, but if I had to choose one I’d go with painting because it’s the most similar to putting makeup on my face.
2. How do you feel about growing up?
It’s very overrated, LOL! I do like not having people around telling me what to do, though.
3. What would you like to be able to cook?
It sounds pretty lame, but I’m terrible at cooking chicken. Mine always seems to be either too dry or too tough. Oh, and I’d like to be able to bake scones, as they continue to elude me.
4. Do you believe dreams come true?
Yes. I do have to say I’ve been pretty lucky, though, which helps fuel the belief.
5. What’s your lip color today?
I’m doing the whole “cream blush as lipstick thing” with Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks blush in Poppet. It’s a bright pink!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

2. How do you feel about growing up? On the times I’m asked to be an expert witness in a court trial and I hear them call “Dr. Johnson”, I always look around for an adult, before realizing that’s me. I’m 65, still feel most days like I’m 15.

Booo! I love to watch my girls grow however and seeing how sweet and innocent they are at this age!
3. What would you like to be able to cook?
I agree with the chicken! Or any family meal that we could all eat! Seems like we all eat different things and it’s annoying and complicated.
4. Do you believe dreams come true?
I think so!
5. What’s your lip color today?
MAC “As If I Care” it’s a pretty pink! Happy lipstick day! 💄 Sephora and Ulta have some good deals, just placed an ulta order!
1. Painting or sketching? I’ve always been artistic. I used to love to work with oil pastels. I haven’t really done that in ages, but give me a few good art pencils, and I’ll happily sketch just about anything. Question to self: Why don’t you buy some new oil pastels?!?
2. How do you feel about growing up? Well, at 81 I guess I’m still working on it as I love to keep up with what’s relevant to younger generations. It keeps my mind agile, stimulates my interests, and broadens my experiences. Youth is not just for the young.

5. What’s your lip color today? Work from home today so it is Laneige lip balm
1. Painting or sketching? Sketching – I grew up drawing realistic pencil drawings of animals. I’ve never been too confident about painting – color mixing and color harmony, and all that.
2. How do you feel about growing up? Well, working and bill paying aren’t fun. I’ve felt I was born into life-long servitude. Even if I’d married, I’d probably have to work full-time, and that ain’t fun if it’s not the career you actually want. Being a kid is overrated, though, because all too often your parents treat you like an object who has no feelings, plus there’s the torture that often comes from siblings, other kids, and teachers. Twain said childhood “is the best of life, and the shortest.” (Of course, he had to go to work at 12 when his father died, so his childhood was particularly brief.)
3. What would you like to be able to cook? Omelets and crepes.
4. Do you believe dreams come true? For some lucky people. Long ago I realized that there seemed to be a common element to those whose life worked out the way they wanted – they met at least one person who really believed in them, and that person provided emotional (if not also financial) support. I never got that. If anything, I’ve spent my whole life trying to stop people from hurting me. That combined with having to work a mind-numbing job 40 hours a week didn’t leave room for making a dream come true.
5. What’s your lip color today? None – working at home so didn’t bother with it today.
1. Painting or sketching? Ermmmmm….pass!
2. How do you feel about growing up? Overrated!
3. What would you like to be able to cook? Tortilla Espanola
4. Do you believe dreams come true? It’s always a possibility, but I don’t think it usually happens without a little elbow grease.
5. What’s your lip color today? Merit Baby (because that’s what I keep at my work desk).

2. How do you feel about growing up? It was needed to get out of my hometown, so pretty good.
3. What would you like to be able to cook? I feel like I do OK with what I have. Sometimes I wish we would have gotten a totally bomb gas cooking range with very high heats, but honestly, we don’t have the space for it (and the necessary hood).
4. Do you believe dreams come true? They can, but only if you work hard.
5. What’s your lip color today? Just Reve de Miel lipbalm (no color).
