So…what is the Monday Poll?
Excellent question! It isn’t, contrary to its name, an actual poll, like with little clicky buttons. It’s just a list of more or less random questions I’ve been posting on this blog every Monday morning for the past quadrillion years (since 2007).
1. Do you care about Labubus?
Nah, I just don’t get the hype.
2. What’s your favorite summer dessert?
Hmm, all of them? If pressed to pick one, then ice cream.
3. Do you have plans for the Fourth of July yet?
Connor will be dancing with her dance team in the town parade, so that’s our main event during the day. We’ll probably do a barbeque at home after the parade. Where we live doesn’t allow fireworks, so we may or may not go looking for a fireworks display. We’ll see how ambitious we’re feeling!
4. How do you feel about maxi dresses?
If it’s in a petite size and the print isn’t too overwhelming, then I’ll rock a maxi dress, for sure.
5. What is the last thing you had to drink?
I’m chugging a huge bottle of cold water as I type this. Oh, and you know what? I don’t know how I made it through the ‘80s and ‘90s because I barely drank any water back then, LOL! I don’t remember feeling awful at the time, but I guess that was due to the magic of being young. Now if I don’t drink massive amounts of water throughout the day I feel it in my body, my brain, my skin, sheesh, even my eyes feel dry if I don’t have enough water, haha!

1. Do you care about Labubus? What is that? I don’t know what (or who) that is. I’ll google it.
2. What’s your favorite summer dessert? Key Lime Pie.
3. Do you have plans for the Fourth of July yet? No. It’s either going to be blazing hot or raining like crazy (those are literally the only possible options). Also, all the firework shows are fairly far away from me, and I don’t want to drive alone at night. Traffic’s usually a nightmare anyway (leaving the shows).
4. How do you feel about maxi dresses? I like them, but I wish more of them had elbow-length sleeves and were made of pure cotton. I bought some a few years ago and got some good deals (1st year of the pandemic was a great time to shop for clothes online). I need to start wearing them. Most seem to be 52″ or more in length, which is a little hard to walk in safely at my height, so I might have to get a tailor to fix that on one or more of these.
5. What is the last thing you had to drink? A & W Root Beer.

2. What’s your favorite summer dessert? I have a sweet tooth….I will say all of them.
3. Do you have plans for the Fourth of July yet? No. Sometimes we will watch the city fireworks display depending on what day it falls on. We usually stay home as much as possible that week. Our labradoodles are extremely scared of fireworks and we live in an area that goes all out. I hate it because they set them off all night for a whole week 😐. I wish we had more laws preventing it.
4. How do you feel about maxi dresses? Meh. My legs are short and they do not always look good on me.
5. What is the last thing you had to drink? Coffee

3. Do you have plans for the Fourth of July yet? We get out of the city, the fireworks go on for a week until 2 in the morning around the neighborhood.. We’re going to the inlaws farm in Southern IL where it’s quiet and our dog can play with theirs.

5. What is the last thing you had to drink? Homemade Lemon Lavender Kombucha.

I make a mean strawberry-rhubarb pie!

Yes – going to a family’s place on a Minnesota lake – there will be lots of fireworks involved!

I like them! I’m tall enough to wear them but I haven’t worn a dress of any kind in a looong time!

A pomegranate seltzer water from target!

I know nothing about this trend.

Currently I’ve been enjoying Trader Joe’s chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches.

No, and I’m most likely to stay home with my dad and maybe watch fireworks on tv.

I love ‘em! I’m short and rounded so any long body-skimming item is fine in my book.

Water. Typical.
1. Do you care about Labubus? Considering that I had to Google it, no.
2. What’s your favorite summer dessert? Probably something like rhubarb ice cream.
3. Do you have plans for the Fourth of July yet? No, we don’t really do much for the 4th.
4. How do you feel about maxi dresses? Not a huge fan, they just feel like nightgowns.
5. What is the last thing you had to drink? Diet Dr. Pepper, which is my answer for probably 90% of my day.
1. Do you care about Labubus? I only found out what they were a few weeks ago and so far I’m unmoved by them.
2. What’s your favorite summer dessert? Ice cream, specifically the mint flavour Magnums 😋
3. Do you have plans for the Fourth of July yet? I’m in the UK so it’s not a holiday here. I did once spend it in Key West though and it was great fun with fireworks and the whole town hanging out together.
4. How do you feel about maxi dresses? They’re ok but it depends on the fabric – anything too heavy feels like I’m being weighed down.
5. What is the last thing you had to drink? Tea made the English way with milk, accompanied by a piece of homemade banana bread!
