Good morning, friend. Guess what? It’s CATURDAY! Rosie-Pose kindly reminded us of this by dragging a bag of beef jerky up the stairs and into our room in the wee hours. Of course, she mewled the entire time, loudly and obnoxiously, to let us know that she had captured her “prey.”
(Apparently she got into El Hub’s work bag and found his stash of snacks, LOL!)

It’s been two weeks since construction on our place ended, and we’re still living out of boxes. I’m really trying to take my time to figure out what to keep and what to donate, and it’s taking forever!
We’re also trying to find furniture that will 1) solve our storage issues, 2) fits the space properly and 3) hold up. Side note: why is everything made with flimsy particle board? If you have any affordable, well-made furniture brands to recommend that aren’t super pricey, please let me know.
Anywho, my goal is to have the place comfortable and ready for friends and visitors by June. On today’s agenda is to clean the windows to prepare them for new window treatments. I’m thinking automated roller shades are the way to go because they’re minimalist and not too fussy.
Fun stuff! And yes, I just watched a tutorial on how to clean window sills. LOL! There’s a first time for everything.

Have you checked heard of Article? My bestie works at the HR department there and I bought a king-size bed from them recently. I’d say the quality is comparable to Crate and Barrel but at a more affordable price point. Check them out if you’re interested!

We’ve had some good luck with some furniture from Room & Board and some of it not so lucky. Some of it is made with solid wood and steel and natural materials and those pieces have lasted. Unfortunately, our sofa had cheap legs and one of those disintegrated. So if you shop there you definitely have to ask questions about the materials. But I have a steel legged, solid wood kitchen table that has held up nicely after about 15 years. And some solid wood book shelves that are still going strong under the weight of heavy books. Not sure what items you are looking for or what your budget is. I’ve found that sometimes what I consider super expensive someone else will think is affordable. I’ve also noticed there are things I think are affordable and fairly priced that some of my friends think are too expensive.
Totally off-topic but if you go by Trader Joe’s get a little tub of their “If Life Hands You Lemons Make Ice Cream” ice cream. Lemon flavor with a lemon swirl that’s like lemon pie filling and studded with shortbread cookies. I could eat the whole container.
