Hi, there! Happy Caturday. How’s your day going so far? Good, I hope.
Check this out — last night’s dinner. Nothing fancy, just spaghetti with red sauce and parmesan cheese because by the time I get to Friday I’m too tired to cook anything complicated. My neighbor gave me some fresh basil, so I couldn’t resist making a vat of pasta.

This brings me to the pic at the top. Anyone else out there need to change their shirt before eating anything with red sauce? I have a janky UC Davis tee, complete with frayed edges and holes in the armpits, which I wear only when I’m eating spaghetti. LOL!
I can’t be the only person who cannot be trusted to eat tomato-based meals with a white shirt on.
Anywho, ’twas an exciting week on this end. Not only did Connor start first grade, she also lost her first tooth.

This one was a cool customer and didn’t freak out at all. She told me, “I took a bite of my lunch, my tooth got stuck in my food, and it twisted right out. No big deal.”
Does anyone know the going rate for a tooth from the tooth fairy? I took a guess at $5.
This week’s reading
- The movie “A League of Their Own” gets a remake and makeover involving lots of red lipstick.
- Hair gel is the unsung hero of your hair routine.
- There are a few affordable options on this list of shampoos and conditioners for big, voluminous hair. Yay!

I need some of this.
Um, wow!
TLC for your feet.
Holla if you have a hooded eye sitch.
Chill.
I loved this when I was a kid.
I’m in need of some outfit inspo.
Bach is NO JOKE.
Have a great rest of your day, and please take some time to rest this weekend!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

She’s such a cutie. One time when my daughter lost a tooth, I fell asleep early and never put money under her pillow. She was so upset! I made sure to get it taken care of the next night. I told her the tooth fairy must have had a busy night & didn’t get to all the houses.
We told her to leave her note and her tooth on her dresser so there was NO CHANCE the tooth fairy would miss it. LOL! What did you end up doing with your daughter’s baby teeth?
I wish I kept them, but alas, those days were cray-cray. I was going to school for my master’s, and working full time, and had 2 little kids. I was just surviving.
Five dollars for the tooth fairy? Wow, we really do have inflation.
Dear Daughter thinks it’s gross but I did keep all her baby teeth. Nothing special. They’re in a zip top plastic bag at the back of one of my drawers. I also had a ponytail of hair from one of her first hair cuts, but she took that to show her hair stylist what color of blonde she wanted to get back to.
I can’t eat anything without getting it all over myself. I always wear and apron when I’m cooking and eating. Last night I was too lazy to find an apron, so of course I dribbled dal made with turmeric on my shirt. No way that yellow stain is coming out. Sigh.
Wow! Connor is so grown up! Man I only got a quarter for teeth back in the day. Inflation hits the tooth fairy too.
Karen, I can’t be trusted with any light colored shirts, they’ll get chocolate or spaghetti sauce on them.
I love the original A League if their Own, I’m curious about the new one.
Re: gel: just bought Verb’s new Foaming Gel that was codesigned by Manes by Mell, I can’t wait to get it.
My kids get $1… but you live in California, so cost of living. 🤷♀️
I never understood keeping kids’ baby teeth… they’re not cute. What do people do with them? Are they nostalgic somehow?
I forgot once. We told our son the TF must have been in quarantine. 🤣 He bought the excuse though.
Go get yourself to the bank and get gold dollar coins. Connor will be thrilled with a tooth fairy coin ! Paper money isn’t exciting. My kids are in early 20s and when they were losing teeth they’d way rather have a gold coin than paper any day
We did a buck per tooth a few years ago. But I’ll second the California comment, lol! Two dollar bills are also fun, if they still make them.
That lute music is incredible!!! Thank you so much for posting it.
The rate here is 2 €, which is a little less than 5 $, but the tooth fairy often adds a little something like a role of washi tape or stickers, soI guess it is even.
I keep both my daughters and my sons lost teeth in a little box along with a lock of their hair from when I first had to cut it. They might think it is gross once they find out, but I can’t bring myself to throw them out.
