Well, hello there, beautiful! 🤗 Happy Caturday to ya. It’s a bit overcast and cool here in North Marin County (for now), which is good news because the fam-bam and I are headed going blueberry picking!
It’s this place called Duckworth Farms up in Sebastapol. We did it last year and had so much fun. I’ve been looking forward to going back all year long.

My favorite blueberries are the really big ones!

If you happen to have a good blueberry anything recipe, please share it.
Also, on a somewhat related note…I’m trying to decide what to wear today from the crop of Laura Mercier lipsticks up above. The bright hot coral-pink at the bottom is seriously tempting me!
This week’s reading…
- I would love to see more 99-year-old ladies in beauty campaigns!
- Makeup artists in Hollywood love these lipsticks.
- Just in case you or someone you know wants a perfume with notes of…gasoline.
- Why, yes, Helen Mirren, I’d love to hear your advice on having swagger.
- I’ve just added this fuchsia lipstick to my wish list.
- When it comes to genetics, humans and cats have more in common than one might think.
- This app allegedly tells you what your cat is feeling at any given moment…
- I like big cats and I cannot lie! Side note: the clouded leopard is my favorite.

I’m feelin’ Gwen’s look here. Please stop me from plucking my brows away into oblivion, thanks!

What?! I can’t believe it’s already the end of July. What are your plans this weekend?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Laying low this weekend. It’s sunny but much cooler here in NJ. We may head to the pool later.
So when blueberry season arrives, we get at least two pints. One to use in everything from pancakes to yogurt & fruit salad. The other pint is for blueberry sauce. It’s a recipe from an old Good Housekeeping cookbook I’ve had for years. You boil a cup of water, add a pint of blueberries and cook on low temp. In a bowl mix 3/4 cup of sugar (you can use a sugar substitute), corn starch and a bit of salt and add to the blueberry mixture and cook for 15 minutes or until it get thick. Let it cook and add a bit of lemon juice. We use it on vanilla frozen yogurt.
Enjoy your day!
I don’t recall the exact recipe however somewhere on the interwebs is blueberry garlic salmon! Sounds weird, looks a little weirder and tastes amazing! I’m doing a hair mask today..
I love the 6 tips to look together video! Her voice is so soothing. Subscribe! 😁
This weekend I’m celebrating a friend’s 40th birthday and tomorrow hosting my cousin who is newly vegan so I’m making her a vegan dinner and I’m really excited!
Noooo, Karen! Please don’t touch your brows! They are absolutely perfect! 🙂
Blueberry buckle is the best! http://sharon-thegoodlife.blogspot.com/2009/07/blueberries-for-sharon.html?m=1
I’m hoping to try this next week, so I can’t say I’ve made it, but it sounds good.

I love cougars, they are just such epic ‘cats’ haha. I know there are many big cats, and while tigers are the most stunning, and I have many paintings of them, I feel like every house cat really just strives to be a cougar lol (or puma/mountain lion – in Canada we call them cougars). 😼
Oh! Forgot to mention, I love blueberries in many things (my fave fruit) but I think my fave thing to bake blueberries in is oatmeal cookies! No special recipe, just add them to the batter at the end by hand so they don’t bleed into it 🙂 But I love blueberry oatmeal chocolate chip cookies hehe.
I hope you had a great time blueberry picking! I love Gwen, but don’t pluck. We know how many years (if ever) it takes for brows to grow back as we age. Too bad they don’t grow at the rate of that one, darn chin hair! HAHA!
