Well, hi there, sweet cat ladies and dog ladies and bunny ladies and horse ladies and parrot ladies, and all my ladies!
If you saw a plane over your head somewhere around the San Francisco Bay Area early yesterday morning, FYI, that might’ve been me waving to you from the sky above. The fam-bam and I got out of dodge — REALLY OUT OF DODGE. We had an opportunity to take a last-minute trip to visit our family on Oahu (El Hub’s parents, who we haven’t seen in two years), so this Saturday Surfing is coming to you from the other side of the Pacific.
If you’re a new friend here, hi! My husband is from Hawaii (Oahu), and back in ye olden times before the pandemic, we’d go back to visit that side of the family once or twice a year, but the past year changed that, of course, so it’s been a long time. El Hub is going to be doing some work from here remotely, but he gets to do it from home with the family.
This particular water baby is looking forward to getting sand between her toes and dipping said toes into a warm blue ocean later this morning.

If you need me, I’ll be at the beach…

I love me some gadgets.
I’m a little obsessed with Dr. V
Please talk to me about Vitamin C.
Like I said, I LOVE ME SOME GADGETS.
I may have watched her eyeshadow the entire time, LOL.
How are things going this weekend? How was your week? What are you up to?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Yay Hawaii! I’m so glad you guys were able to get away! Especially last minute! That’s so exciting.
Please have a few shaved ices for me.
Nothing terribly exciting in my life this weekend, which is great, since my teenager graduated from high school last weekend and things have been nuts.
It’s a cool, gray day in Maine and I’ve been watching old movies–black and white mysteries–the best kind–all day and falling asleep here and there.
Oh yeah, and I think the big excitement later will be making some shrimp and wasabi green beans in my new airfryer–I ordered the same brand that your brother gave you. Haven’t tried it yet. I’m always skeptical about believing the hype around new appliances, movies, etcetera. We shall see.
Have a wonderful time in Oahu! Hubby and I can’t wait till we get to go in September. We’re going to make the rest of our activities reservations next week. Luckily, we reserved a rental care back when prices were still reasonable.
We just go home last night from a camping vacation with our son’s in eastern Oregon. We had a great time, despite higher than expected temperatures and a couple really humid days. I got a good trial run for the makeup and mineral sunscreen I’m considering taking not Hawaii, so even that had a silver lining.
Ugh, excuse the errors. Autocorrect hates me today, and I’m too tired to catch all them all in time.
That’s exciting that you’re in Hawaii! Have a great time!
Thank you!
Oooh! I’m jealous! Haven’t been to Oahu since Dear Daughter was 5 or 6. We stayed in Lanikai where one of Dear Husband’s former bosses had a house he let us use.
Hawaii is just so dang beautiful! How hard were the Covid testing protocols to get done? Is Hawaii still requiring them?
Hope you have a wonderful and relaxing time.
Have an excellent time! I want to someday visit the ocean again.
I nowadays wear hair perfumes or glosses more than I do perfume. The first Baccarat Rouge one sounds amazing.
Take care!
Enjoy your trip and give your in-laws big hugs!
That’ll be so nice to see his family and get out of town! JEALOUS.
Hettie and I saw a cute little bunny on our walk yesterday. She has inappropriate feelings on bunnies (bunnies are for petting, not chomping). The other day we got to meet a neighborhood cat a little more closely and I got to pat him, but he hasn’t been out the past few days – Hettie looks for him every time, but the weather here is crazy – tons of rain, some flooding, tornado watches… I’m glad he’s inside!
