Good morning and happy Caturday from one cat lady’s corner of the Internet in Northern California. How YOU doing? Does the world feel topsy-turvy to you like it does to me? Is uncertainty churning in the pit of your tummy at all hours of the day and night?
Yeah, me too.
I’m naturally wired to worry, and keeping my spirits up hasn’t been easy, but I’m trying. I count my blessings often and I #stressbake. I also try to focus on simple pleasures, one of which is taking long walks with the CoyCoy every morning.
We leave the house right after breakfast and head outside to explore our neighborhood. Over the past few days, we’ve listened to birds sing, waved hi to our neighbors (from six feet away, of course), splashed in puddles, and met a new kitty neighbor.
Say hi to Nine, a gray stray who set up camp down the street from us. According to a friendly cat lady who lives nearby and feeds Nine all the time, he lives on the hill behind condo number 9, and he’s very friendly, but we’ve been told he will nip your fingers if he’s feeling feisty… We visit him every day and offer him treats if he’s around.
I don’t foresee him moving in with us any time soon because Rosie is queen bee around here, but I hope someone in the neighborhood eventually takes him in.

Hi Karen, Thanks so much for these articles – especially the last one. We don’t get this magazine here and I have not seen any information on this topic. I will make sure I do what is suggested there.
I’m a worrier, too. (By definition. I have four diagnosed anxiety disorders.) Oddly, I’m not freaking out or making myself crazy about all this. I think all the therapy and coping techniques I’ve learned over the years have positioned me to be better able to deal. Who knew mental illness would come in handy one day, lol?
Try this book, it’s a new favorite of mine: Don’t Overthink It, by Anne Bogel. (I read an early copy in January, since I’m a member of the author’s online book club.) It released on March 3, just about the most coincidental book release date in history: a book about overthinking, worry, and anxiety as the world began to feel the effects of a pandemic.
The LVMH thing is interesting! The alcohol distillers here in MI are now approved to make hand sanitizer, and the auto manufacturers are going to try to make ventilators. Everyone is trying to pitch in.

Went for a walk with Dear Husband yesterday. A couple of blocks from our house there was a black cat rolling for attention from a lady in a drive way. My husband asked if I knew that cat. I laughed and looked at him and said, “contrary to your popularly held belief, I do not know every single cat that lives in this town.”
I once cut my bangs when I was too impatient to wait. It was a disaster. Granted I was only 8 years old when I did it. But I learned my lesson at an early age.
Hanging in there. Trying to do a closet clearing, but everything I pull out, even though I haven’t worn it ages, I think to myself, I really like this.
