Good morning, beautiful girl! I’m about to put on boots and long pants because I have a whole day of moving ahead of me.
We’re not leaving the Bay Area (although that’s crossed my mind more than once in the last couple years) — just getting our place prepared because we’re finally getting new floors.
We were supposed to do the work back in the spring of 2020, but you know what went down. Sigh.
Anywho, better late than never! This means I’ll be moving things in and out of the garage all day long. On the bright side, not only will the carpet Tabs (RIP, sweet boy) and Rosie have shredded to bits will finally be gone, but I’ll also get to practice my squats today, ha ha ha!
What’s on the agenda on your end? Talk to me… I’ll need all the distraction I can get during my breaks from lifting boxes today.
This week’s reading
- Some graphic liner styles to try if you’re in the mood to experiment. I’m a fan of the double wing!
- I’m kinda feeling this sad clown eye look on Willow Smith. The smokey action on her lower lash line is *chef’s kiss.*
- Byredo has a new fragrance.
- I’m not surprised this throwback Britney scent gets so much love; I liked it back in the day, too.
- I need a hair glaze in my life ASAP.
- Favorite read of the week ——–> Cache as cats can!
- Pets from cats to gerbils are being forced to diet.
Today’s mood!
Love me some Erykah.
I’m totally watching this!
I hope your morning has been good so far and that the rest of your day is smooth sailing.
Take care. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Good luck with the moving and re-flooring, what did you decide to do for flooring? Tile or vinyl hardwood or hardwood? We are considering doing our living/family room and kitchen but not sure what to do as we have an elderly greyhound and a young cat. Decisions, decisions … and I am indecisive hahaha. Any suggestions?
In an attempt to give you a distraction, here’s our day … my mom turns 75 today and my first nephew is 2 years old today so a small family gathering for home made cupcakes and nephew’s favourite meal Spaghetti!!! My brother makes it and growing up my brother never ventured in to the kitchen, I love seeing him as a Dad and Husband. Anyhow that’s us … family time.
I hope your moving/flooring goes as quick and smoothly as possible.
P.S. thanks for the heads up about the new Byredo scent – I love the name and story behind it.
Hi, Vita!
Enjoy your family time, and happy birthday to your mom and your nephew! It’s so cool they share a birthday.
So, for floors, we ended up going with luxury plank vinyl, specifically Cortec. I want floors I don’t have to worry about; Cortec is supposed to be able to handle pets and kids well. I want Connor’s dance friends or her soccer team to come over and not have to worry about scratches when the kids are running around. Hopefully it’ll work out. I’ve heard good things about it!
I love the double winged liner too! I’m also digging Willow’s liner.
Jiji’s supposed to lose some weight, re: the article on forcing pets to diet. I had to put Quincy on a diet back in the day too.
I’ve had kind of a lazy day so far, but we have some packing to do this weekend.
Hope the packing goes smoothly. Do you have much left?
Glad you are getting your floors done – I’m sure you will enjoy them once all the dust is settled. I chuckled when I saw your link about “hair glazing”. Back in the 80’s I bought some “hair glaze” type color to do at home. I didn’t read the directions about not using on hair that had been treated with henna. I ended up with Ariel the Little Mermaid Red locks and it was permanent. I had to have the color stripped and all my hair cut off and regrow it all out.
Can’t wait for the Downton Abbey movie!
Have a funky old Mediterranean house with gorgeous heart pine floors throughout, upstairs and down. Year before the pandemic, had them completely stripped and refinished. Had to store all the furniture then literally moved out for almost a month but wow, the result was well worth the upheaval. You’ll be so happy, I promise!! 😀
Good luck wit the reflooring and I hope you legs weren’t too sore after all the squats you did. Things like that are always a pain when doing them, but do worth it once they are done.
