What exactly is going on here?
Is it creative baby fashion? I don’t know. I think it might be Connor’s version of sleeping with one leg outside the covers.
I walked in her room the other morning and found her awake like this in her Pack ‘n’ Play, bright-eyed and ready to go. It was equal parts weird and hilarious at the same time.
Connor is 7 1/2 months old now, which makes me a little emo, because pretty soon she will have been in the outside world longer than she was in my tummy.
I know, I’m a sap…
A lot has happened in the “Learning the Ropes” department lately. She said her first word not long ago: “mama.”
Wha!? I know. I high-fived a million little angles. Both of us thought she was going to say “dada” first because of how obsessed she is with him.
Oh, and she can crawl now, sit up by herself, and she does this coy over-the-shoulder pose (I think she learned it from Tabs).
She is SO obsessed with Tabs, too. I think that she thinks she’s a cat, because whenever she hears Tabs meow, she meows right back at him. Mind you, it’s not a full-on, throaty meow (due to her limited baby vocab, obvs). It’s more of a high-pitched, exploratory kitten meow (“Mmmmmmah!”), but she tries, though!
She’s always reaching out to pet and grab him, and Tabs plays along. He’s the most patient cat in the world, you guys, because sometimes she plays a little rough (she is a baby, after all). He lets her rub his haunches, touch his cheeks and scratch his head between his ears. Of course, I’m always supervising just in case.
Happy Caturday, my friend! How are you? What are you up to? I’m heading to the salon in a little while to get a quick bang trim. Do you have any beauty errands you have to run or anything like that? I mean, I have to do some regular errands, too, like grocery shopping, and I want to go to Cost Plus to get these stackable bowls for my mom and dad that look like oversized mugs. Let me know if you’re doing anything fun. I hope you’re doing something more exciting than I am.

I can’t believe how long her legs look. Where is that tiny baby I saw on here a few months ago?
I may go get a bottle of Essie Gel Couture from my local beauty supply store. I told my readers I would try one more shade to see if my dismal experience was down to the one shade I tried or if it’s a consistent problem across the line.
I stocked up on Lush bath bombs so I am all set until I get paid next week. I plan on taking one bath tonight and two baths tomorrow. I’m uploading videos on Instagram of bath bombs dissolving because I think it looks cool. I’m trying to record as many videos as I can while I have time.
My heart melted when I read about she trying to meow. She looks so pretty in every photo, when she starts walking everything will be even more exciting.
I have to read some texts for thesis and also we’re searching for a dress for my mom, we have a wedding on November 5th and her friends keep saying she would wear a dress because she always wears pants. So cross your fingers because my mom trying clothes is a nightmare.

It’s been a long time since I posted on your site, but after seeing your precious baby girl fashionably posturing, I HAD to comment!
I remember in about 2003 or 2004, I received a “W” Magazine that had a feature article on Manolo Blahnik, the shoe designer. At the end of the article or the last page of the magazine (can’t remember which–so long ago) there was a photograph of 18 month old Manolo, walking down a corridor, buck-naked, holding a brown leather baby shoe….What a revelation to what he was to become!
Not long afterwards, I had an opportunity to meet him at Neiman-Marcus here in Atlanta. Your Daughter may well be letting you know what her future just may have in store for her. A career in fashion in some capacity, model, designer or a blogger just like her Mommy! Enjoy watching her grow!

Ahhhh!! I love the stories about Connor Claire and Tabs. Baby + cat combos are the best. It’s adorable that she meows at him, and I want to reward Tabs with a Greenie or two for being such a good boy when Connor Claire is petting him. <33

My Baby Girl came over today we went to visit the Anderson Collection on the Stanford Campus. They had works by Nick Cave on display and some videos too. I was mesmerized and blow away. We stopped at the mall on the way home so I could try the TF 2016 Reserve Bois Marocain. Then we went out to dinner with Dear Husband and had the cake Baby Girl made for dessert. Tomorrow we’re going to see Hedwig & The Angry Inch.
she is so dang cute!! my cousin had a little girl right before you had Conner Claire, and I’ve been keeping Internet-tabs on both bébés at the same time (they live a couple states away) which means you guys are basically extended family now! 🙂 I can’t believe she is crawling and mama-ing, it goes so quickly!! <3

They do grow up so fast, don´t they? My son is sitting there, munching some bread, and I feel like it was just yesterday that I was still nursing him. Not long ago and he will move out…

Connor is so, so adorable! I absolutely love it that she meows back at Tabs! I’m also thrilled that he’s being good with her. That can be a challenge, especially for an older kitty. My son read somewhere that cats think of us humans as fellow cats. Not sure about that, but I did read somewhere that they’re not actually domesticated, like dogs or sheep or cows or guinea pigs (which might be the *most* domesticated creatures I’ve ever met); some thousands of years ago, when humans began practicing agriculture and storing grain, we coincidentally collected large concentrations of kitty lunches who wanted to snack on *our* lunches, and certain cats moved in and volunteered to keep the population of grain-eating small rodents down. Those who did that without mistaking baby humans for lunch were tolerated by the adult humans, and so they’ve stuck with us. Then of course the Egyptians realized that the cats were sacred and the rest is history!
She is so adorable, and I can’t believe she’s already starting to talk!

It’s like Connor gets cuter every minute. And I don’t understand how, since she was so darn cute to begin with! It’s amazing how her little face is changing, isn’t it? And, my goodness, the hair! 🙂 I’m so glad you got a “mama”. Which reminds me to remind you to write it down. As I’m sure you guessed, I can’t remember my boys’ first words. Probably dada – haha!
