This is one of those looks I didn’t do for any reason in particular other than it seemed like fun, because I ended up only sitting around the house like this, but dang if it wasn’t still fun! And I’ve got the pictures to save it for posterity!
I wish I’d thought of someplace interesting to take it out for a spin, even though I have low-key anxiety now around large groups of people. Soft, sparkling lids like this deserve to see the world, haha!
I didn’t really plan on this color palette with bronzes and soft beige-pinks. It just kind of happened, but I love how it turned out. It’s so delicate and girly, and it reminds me a little bit of the pink blush shades ballet dancers wear in their leotards, tights and tutus.
The Jane Iredale Naturally Glam Palette
The glowing goodness happening on my lids comes courtesy of the magical Naturally Glam Eye Shadow Kit by Jane Iredale. They’re a cruelty-free line that does mineral makeup.
Have you ever put something on — I dunno, a bra or a pair of jeans or a shirt — that instantly lights you up and makes you feel good? That’s what happened to me with this palette. The powders have that perfect balance of pearl and pigment, and they’re awfully flattering. They sparkle in a non-frosty and totally forgiving way, and the pigment packs just enough punch (I’d call it mid-level, since it’s definitely NOT full-blown intensity) to delicately define lids and lash lines.
For this look, I buffed the golden beige (the one in the big circle) all over my lids as a base, then blended the gold (inner corner) and the mid-toned brown taupe (outer corner) directly on top. Then, I wet an angled liner brush and loaded it with the dark brown to line my lash lines. To finish the look, I tightlined with MAC Teddy, which goes great with this palette’s bronze vibe, and coated my lashes with mascara.
Nude lip combo of the moment
Oh! — I’m back on a nude lip kick (What can I say? I love me a soft lip.) and found a new pinkish nude lip combo to share…
I feel like this lip could also be cool with a darker, unblended lip liner for a ’90s vibe too…

The Dinner Rage chronicles, part 3,456
I mentioned to a friend of mine that I’ve been having major Dinner Rage lately (FYI, it’s that feeling that kicks in about an hour before dinnertime when I realize that I have to make food YET AGAIN, hahaha), and she passed along her go-to baked chicken recipe for these days.
It’s a vinegar chicken with crushed olive dressing, and I made it the other day… It turned out OK, even though I under-seasoned it, because I always have a hard time when recipes call for you to just season things with salt and pepper at your will (I always end up erroring on the side of not seasoning enough).
Here’s the recipe in case you want to try it, by the way. Oh, and I ended up substituting the wine vinegar with apple cider vinegar and using dried parsley instead of fresh because that’s what I had. If you make it, let me know how it goes!

I love this look! I am going to see if I can try to duplicate it -only I need to find something cheaper than Jane Iredale – suggestions? I am so glad that I am not the only one with Dinner Rage. I love that name, it perfectly describes how I feel every. single. night. I am trying to eat healthier and lose weight, but hubby does not like most healthy foods, and it is such a pain to try to cook two different meals. I kinda want to give up on dinner altogether!

As long as you have a satiny/low-shine 1) beige (all over lid), 2) mid-tone taupe-brown (lash line to crease) and 2) a darker brown (outer corner and upper lash line as liner) I think you should be good. Shop your stash first, because chances are you probably have similar shades!
Have you ever heard of the Skinny Taste website? There’s some pretty yummy and healthy recipes there.
I know it’s difficult but is there any way you cook something in the middle. My mom and I are also on a diet and what she does is that she makes more of a neutral main dish, like stew and we get more vegetables as side dish with smaller portions of carbs and my father get the complete opposite.
We also do that with pasta, we eat less noodles and more sauce with salad and he goes all the way with the noodles.

I’m with Efra on this. I do something similar by cooking a protein with veggies. El Hub and Connor Claire then get it with a carb, usually white rice, while I’ll eat it with a big salad on the side. Sometimes I have to have rice though, and on those days I’ll do a 50/50 mix of white rice with cauliflower rice.
That turned out GLAM, the effort and sophistication is there, and the colors are subdued so it feels attainable to me. So pretty.

About the chicken, I’ll try because you don’t need to marinade it and that’s the main challenge in out house: we always forget to marinate things and then it taste bland after being in the oven.
Such a pretty, feminine, glowy look! I’m going to resist that palette and shop my stash to recreate this look. Loving the lip, too. How did I not know Origins does lipstick? I just think of them as skincare.
That recipe though! A pinch of salt and pepper for 3.5 pounds of chicken? !!! Nope. While I’m not at the Judy Rogers level of 3/4 tsp. salt for each pound of chicken or meat, I would start with at least a teaspoon of salt for that much chicken. Like Kenji Lopez-Alt says, salt so it looks like the first fallen snow. And anyone who eats at my house knows, I have a heavy hand with the pepper grinder and the garlic, lol. I’ll have to try this out for Dear Husband. Of course, I’ll have to restrain myself from adding other ingredients to the mix, like onions and chopped tomatoes and asparagus roasted on the side would love that tangy, brininess.
And I totally hear you on the dinner-rage. I love to cook, but man I need at least a week long vacation from cooking every meal, every day.
But I’m not sure I’m ready to eat out either. #crowdanxiety

I love this look! It’s so flattering and springy. 🙂 We’d be good roommates because I’m the opposite with cooking. It’s been a busy couple of weeks and we all relied on a few leftovers and the boys’ staples (cereal and microwave pizza/frozen chicken strips… I know). Anyway, I was SO happy to cook Easter dinner and have been happily restocking the fridge all week with the boys’ favorites. I’m not excited about the clean-up but do enjoy the cooking! 🙂
