Poor Tabs… He was slightly confused about the overall gist of the festivities yesterday.
I think he thought it was a get-together to celebrate him.
We didn’t want to burst his bubble, so we took a brief interlude to sing him the birthday song. “Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, dear tabby… Happy birthday to you!” 🙂
Connor Claire didn’t mind, and there was more than enough food, fun and love for everyone.
It was kind of weird, but for the most part, Tabs wasn’t as social as he usually is. He spent most of the afternoon napping at the top of the stairs, away from the party.
I checked in on him from time to time and gave him chin scratches and whispered that I love him.
Maybe he thought that his toddler assistant deserved to be the center of attention for once. I don’t know, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that was it. After all, he is a very conscientious tabby. 🙂

How considerate of Tabs to leave the center stage on Connor’s big day so she can be in the spotlights! I’m sure he enjoyed his gravy in pink plates though, and he looks like a eccentric dandy with his pointy hat!
Both Connor Claire and Tabs are adorable! I’m not surprised Tabs gave up the spotlight, he’s such a gentleman.
Happy Birthday to Connor and Tabs. Connor looked so pretty in her dress. Your pictures are wonderful, capturing the moments in a natural way. I wish Connor Claire much happiness alongside her family. Tabs is such an angel. It is lovely that Claire is growing up with him. My daughter has grown up with who I call, her furry sibling. I love all animals, but having a cat as a part of our family, has been one of the best things in the world.
Thank you, Maria. We call Tabs her “older brother.” In Tagalog (which is the common Filipino language), the word is “kuya.” 🙂 I also like to say that I have two babies, and my oldest is a cat! Tabs is the most patient older brother, too. He lets her pet him and he likes to hang out with her.

You are so lucky that Tabs will play with her. My two cats will tolerate my two-year-old son. I have seen him with the cats when he manages to touch then and he is so sweet to them so it boggles me. I am thinking of getting him a kittten.
I meant they do not tolerate my son.
