Normally, Tabs goes on patrol first thing on Sunday morning, but today was the first official meeting of the Novato Cat Gardeners Club. Tabs was not deterred by the fact that there are currently only two members, one of which is technically a small human who likes to think of herself as a cat.
On today’s agenda, which was not printed in Comic Sans: pick the ripe cherry tomatoes.
Now, is this easy to do with paws? No, but Tabs relishes the challenge.
The members also discussed yellow versus red tomatoes, as well as the benefits of singing to your plants. Tabs believes in a twice-a-day seranade, which is why you’ll often find him meowing at the plants from his Tabby Command Center.
After the tomatoes were picked, there was a long discussion about whether they should be turned into a marinara sauce or be used for a fish fry. Unsurprisingly, Tabs voted for the fish fry.

I also had to pick some ripe tomatoes today which my cat was no help with, as he was eating grass.

I’m an avid follower of Tabs and his Sunday patrols, as soon as I wake up on Monday morning (in Ireland) checking out: Sunday with tabs is the the first objective of the day,I’m always intrigued to see what the next adventure will be.
Tabs is a household name here.
His own special yellow bucket is adorable as is his beautiful sister.
He took his duties very seriously and was fully engaged and got the job done, I hope he enjoyed the fish fry. We love Tabs.

I love Connor’s shirt. It reminds me of the Emperor’s New Groove. I think it’s my 2nd fave after Aladdin. 🙂 Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought I read an article that quoted Tabs as saying “opposable thumbs are overrated”.
Freya and Ragnar would both like to join the cat gardening club although we may have trouble preventing kitten Ragnar from consuming everything that is edible…and some things that are not..!
They would like to raise something for the next meeting – edible plants as salad (which is in fact, most plants…)
