Even though our old front yard was a bit of a mess, overgrown and very “lived in,” Tabs loved it more than anyone. To him, it was a gateway to adventure. So many sassy birds, lively lizards, interesting insects and fragrant flowers to smell. It was also the tapestry of his feline fashion designs. It’s where he got many of his best ideas.

But with Tabs living his best afterlife now over the Rainbow Bridge, the time has come for a front yard revamp. It’s not quite done, but it’s getting there, and I feel like Tabs would approve of the design decisions. It’s sort of Mediterranean with a touch of Southern Belle…just like Tabs.

Rosie’s landscape influence

It also reflects Rosie’s more minimalist design aesthetic, with more negative space than there was before. She’s just beginning to get comfortable going for walks on her leash and exploring the neighborhood.
She’s learning fast!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

She is such a beauty!
Thank you! 🙂
I know Tabs is joyfully lounging in Versailles-esque jardinerie where he is now. I gotta say, though, the minimalist in me totally appreciates PGR’s aesthetic. ?
Oh, and your Sunday outfits are Everything. ???
FOR. SURE. I’m 100% certain he demanded his eternal resting place to be opulent and over the top!
And hahaha… I am dressed like a crazy-cat-lumberjack-lady, 100%! All my neighbors have seen me rocking that robe!
How was your weekend, btw?
I like your meow-face Rosie!
Isn’t she so sassy?! I love that about her!
Rosie’s leash-walk looks runway ready! I agree with her minimalist style, too. It’s much easier to maintain. HAHA!
It must be cooler there now – I see you are wearing a flannel robe!
The drop in temperature has been extreme here, Linda! It went from 111 to 75 seemingly over night, and the mornings have been in the 50s.
It’s nice to see Rosie bringing her feminine touch to the neighbourhood.
Hi there Karen,
I’ve been reading for a long time your monday pol and never replied anything….though today I would ask you something. As a cat lover, i have myself 3 adorable and beautiful ragdolls, i was wondering why you don’t allow also your new cat to go out by herself without a leash. It seems to me you are not living somewhere full of cars or streets…for cats, its always best to go on their own…which is normal animal behavior, different to dogs….
Lots of greeting from Europe- the other side of the world.
Hi Mary,
I love ragdolls! They’re so beautiful.
So, I live in the suburbs of San Francisco, but where our house is has a lot of wildlife because it’s surrounded by hills and open space. We regularly have animal visitors in our front yard. I love having Rosie enjoy the great outdoors but prefer to be able to bring her easily back indoors if she gets spooked by another animal!
