Man, some of the neighbors around here used to have no respect for authority. Everyone knew that Tabs was the head honcho. He was the CFO (Chief Feline Officer), for meowing out loud!
Like the local turkey troupe? They were always monopolizing the corporate salad bar. One day, Tabs wanted to grab a quick bite before he started some intense kitty modeling negotiations with Dior, but he couldn’t because of these guys…

The nerve!

There was a lot of unsanctioned outside activity. Everyone should have known that the so-called golden hour first thing in the morning was when Tabs liked to take his walk, so there shouldn’t have been any unsanctioned horseplay or activity.

This guy even had the unmitigated gall to dig a big hole right next to Tabs!

Can you even imagine? Some gophers are so disrespectful… 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I’ve never seen a gopher in the wild. As far as turkeys go, I’ve only once seen what I thought was a wild turkey flying overhead some years ago. It might have been a “turkey vulture.” So far my wild animal sightings are limited to: Snake (possibly a rattler – this was in the Mojave Desert), a few kinds of lizards, rats, squirrels, opossums (these are pretty safe to deal with as they are unlikely to carry rabies due to a low body temperature), bobcat, coyote, rabbit, jackrabbit, an animal I think was a beaver (in Maryland), whitetail deer, and dead armadillos on the road (when I lived in Austin we used to see these ALL THE TIME).
Those wild turkeys are big! Can they fly? I would think that they would scare a cat but Tabs was pretty brave and likely kept them in line! Lol!
Yes, wild turkeys can fly. There are no flightless wild birds in the US.
Thanks! I don’t think we have any here in Canada either. I just thought that they looked to be ungainly flyers. They’re probably like sea lions who look lumbering and awkward on land but in the water they are graceful and athletic. I’m picturing those turkeys swooping through the air like hawks. Lol!
